Here's a quick picture of our little treats at class last night - all made from that awesome little Valentine Treat Bundle! I filled mine with some yummy cherry jelly hearts - all flavors! Woo! Thanks so much for being in class tonight - whole new meaning to pins and needles, right?? Here are tonight's Hearts A Flutter Valentines Class instructions, as well - enjoy!

ARRRGH! How could they do this to me?? My first official Team Cherry Cobbler Sketch submission for Paper Craft Crew, and it also includes a color challenge!! And it was WEIRD! (Sorry, Pam!) After sleeping on this one for like a week, I came up with this, and it actually didn't come out too bad, if I do say so myself! Pam, you're off the hook! Tea cups make everything OK, almost as much as chickens! Tea Shoppe stamp set; Basic Gray, Melon Mambo, Old Olive & Very Vanilla CS; Basic Gray DSP from the Neutrals stack; Delicate Designs embossing folder; Postage Stamp & 1" Square punches; Bitty Banners framelits; Old Olive 1/4" grosgrain; Button from the Neutrals collection. This week's Retro Sketch #46 was a very simple way to really show off some DSP, or to dress up some card stock - brilliant! I could have taken this in so many directions! I decided on another birthday card for my stock - this cupcake paper from the Patio Party collection was calling me, with all its weird colors! So, a quick and classic card was born, ahhhh... Sweet Essentials stamp set; Summer Starfruit, Crumb Cake, Midnight Muse & Primrose Petals CS; Patio Party DSP; Lots of Dots & Houndstooth embossing folders; linen thread; Bitty button; self-adhesive Jumbo Rhinestone. OK, you guys can totally blame Lisa V for finding this project for us - she saw a Valentine's version of a clothespin wreath out on Pintarest (where I don't go, to prevent sensory overload!) and sent me a picture to figure out. So, like, ok, 10 minutes later I was on eBay ordering us a giant crate of clothespins! WHAT A COOL PROJECT! The version I saw was by Sharon Cheng - brilliant! I think the part that was coolest was when I realized that if we put it together right, you could, hee hee, make it REVERSIBLE! So that's what we'll be doing. The Valentine's side uses this year's More Amore DSP and Spring Mini 2013 accessories. Sweetness! The other side I figured we would work ahead a bit to St. Patrick's Day - which I always have a tough time decorating for! This ended up being a mix of all the green DSPs I could dig out of my stash - so fun! SO, the January bonus class will be on January 31, 630 pm here at Chez Heroldt, and will be to make BOTH versions of the clothespin wreaths shown here, all materials provided, $25. I can even throw in some extra ribbon for hanging if you see something that catches your eye! This was so fun to make, and you know I'll do the tedious stuff ahead of time so I can to make it painless and perfect for you! I really worked out a system! There might be other font choices for the words by then, too, I have a couple of new alphabet sets on the way! RSVP for your spot today, so I can make sure to have your wreath base ready! OK, I freely admit, I don't know what's up with my color eye these days - I think I'm rebelling a bit against anything Christmas or Valentine-y - I want to make everything purple! This is another one for Mom's set - with a little help from Clean & Simple #223. Nifty layout! Gently Falling & Blessings From Heaven stamp sets; Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, Pool Party & Whisper White CS; Sycamore Street DSP; Vine Street embossing folder. And a quick announcement! Stampin' Up! is starting a new kit program, called Paper Pumpkin! I'm Paper Pumpkin . . . I come to your door each month (a fully decked-out creativity carriage). I'll help you to escape your life with some paper fun. I come in a sweet box, but you'll really love what you find on the inside: All the stamps, ink, paper, and accessories to create pinable projects. Create stuff like cards, journals, décor, and more! It's so easy to get started. Simply sign up for the program starting Monday, January 14 by visiting www.mypaperpumpkin.com and click Get it. Every month a new, surprise project kit arrives at your doorstep. Just think of the anticipation of creating a fun project to pin, showoff, and share with your friends and family-every month! Visit the site for details! This week's Retro Sketch #68 looked like another great opportunity to roll out the scripture to me. I was in a weird color mood though, and I think it shows! I was able to use a few things I've been trying to get a better handle on, and I think the card ended up looking a bit masculine, in spite of the pearls... And the flowers, woops. Well, maybe not so much with the guy card, I guess! Our Daily Bread's Scripture Collection 5; Crumb Cake, Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit & Very Vanilla CS; Print Poetry DSP stack; Crumb Cake Taffeta; Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon (retired); Needlepoint Border embossing folder; Corner Rounder punch; self-adhesive pearls. Hi Everyone! Here's the completed ensemble for next week's class - a Valentine's party! We'll be making the Standing Tags banner that says "I Love You," a kanzashi necklace and pin set, and a cute card. I have a couple different necklace options for you to choose from - this sample shows a wire collar style. So, class is next Thursday, January 17, 630 pm here at the house. If you haven't already, make sure to RSVP so I can have your supplies ready for you! Right now, I plan on a bonus class for January 31, to make a new wreath for the front door, or for inside - pictures soon and Save the Date! So, here's the first card I've made as a newly-minted Paper Craft Crew Design Team member! This is for Sketch #24 - I figured I should jump in with both feet! Make sure to go check out the other wonderful creations by the rest of the team - and maybe take a stab at it yourself! Artistic Etchings stamp set; Print Poetry & Silver Glimmer Specialty DSP; Sahara Sand, Basic Black & Very Vanilla CS; Delicate Designs embossing folder; 1 5/8" & 2" Circle punches; Silver embossing powder; self-adhesive rhinestones. So, I have a commission for 15 or so cards that have a spiritual encouragement flavor (thanks, Mom!) and I decided to get started today, while I waited for the many updates still applying themselves to the new computer setup I'm rocking - whew. You know when you go to shut down, and it says, don't touch anything, I have 24 updates to apply and will shut down when I'm done? Yeah, that's me, today, sigh. So I decided today was a good day for encouragement! I actually CASE'd this beauty straight out of our catalog, with a few updates of my own - the pretty layers really caught my eye! One down, 14 to go! Crosses of Hope & From My Heart stamp sets; Naturals White, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede & Pool Party CS; Labels Collection framelits; Adorning Accents embossing folder; Boho Blossoms (retired), Bird Builder & Scallop Trim Border punches; Soft Suede ink; self-adhesive pearls. Oh my GOSH - having a major computer changeover today - argh, so frustrating! One of the first things I wanted to make sure of was that my blog updates could go forward fairly smoothly, and I think I'm almost there! Today's lovely little LOVE card is sponsored by Retro Sketches #45 - good timing, huh? I wanted to try my hand at taking apart some of the beautiful laser cut hearts that come in this year's Valentine's paper - not too tough at all! I also tried out the new Borders plate for the Simply Scored - nifty! We'll definitely have to do some of that! OK, back to the computer transfer trenches - wish me luck! Loving Thoughts & Hearts A Flutter stamp sets; Pool Party, Crumb Cake, & Very Vanilla CS; More Amore Specialty DSP; Real Red & Primrose Petals inks; Hearts A Flutter framelits. |
