This sounds like something to celebrate - Festive Friday #147 is all about World Hello Day! I really liked the choices on this inspo list - so may of my favorites! This ended up being one of my rare "no stamping" cards, too, lol - but I still love it! I went with bright colors using this stripey patterned sheet from last year's Celebrate Everything pack. I also added some Glossy Dots in Daffodil Delight, and used my Alphabet a la Mode dies for my "hello!" Got a lot in there, I think! I even rescued the center of my "O," lol, for just the right finishing touch, lol. Celebrate Everything DSP; Alphabet a la Mode Dies; Daffodil Delight Glossy Dots; #FF0147. We're feeling inspired by this pretty Fall Picnic pic this round at Retro Rubber #218! I decided I really wanted to try NOT to do sunflowers for this one, lol. What else could I stamp in those colors? How about a cactus?? Done! I pulled my Cactus Cuties set that retired in 2022, and started building my little succulent in a pot. Isn't it adorable? I also wanted to dress up the background, so I embossed my white panel with the Stripes EF, strategically adding an extra strip on one edge, as this is a narrower folder. I tied a little Old Olive Baker's Twine around the pot, and finished with some Daffodil Delight Glossy Dots for just a touch more color - love it! I can't wait to see YOUR sunny projects in our colors this round - meet you at the challenge! Cactus Cuties Stamp Set (retired 2022); Basic White & Old Olive CS; Pecan Pie, Old Olive& Daffodil Delight Inks; Stripes EF; Daffodil Delight Glossy Dots; #RRCB218. Pumpkin Club October 28! Such a super challenge this round and The Sisterhood of Crafters - "shapes!" Love it! For this one, I retrieved my Textures & Frames from the "for sale" box, lol - it seemed just right for creating a shape-filled background! I spent some time stamping and stamping off, and I think I did pretty well at keeping it balanced! For the sentiment, I turned to Something Fancy, and popped up my chosen saying over some Calypso Coral ribbon. I finished with some Iridescent Pastel Gems! Not my usual color scheme, but pretty cute, I think! Something Fancy & Textures & Frames (retired 2021) Stamp Sets; Basic White & Calypso Coral CS; Calypso Coral, Lemon Lolly & Balmy Blue Inks; Calypso Coral Ribbon; Calypso Coral Iridescent Gems; #TSOCShapes. Yeah, baby, Shopping Our Stash #505 wants us to "shakes things up!" Woo hoo! I had some fun with this one, and it actually has quite a few items I've had sitting around! Somehow, I never really used my bottle shaker domes much, but I NEVER used the stash of Effervescent Elements I got to go with them, lol. Today's the day! I started with a full card front of the beautiful Waves of the Ocean DSP - I still love this stuff so much! I set up my shaker very carefully - I pre-punched where my dome would go and had to stamp my bottle color through the layers - very exciting, lol. I added a few more bottles to round out the colors, and then carefully dropped some "bubbles in my dome, and a tiny scrap of rolled up Pool Party DSP scrap - with a quick love note on the inside that no one will ever see, lol. I'm so happy with this cutie, but sorry the dome doesn't photograph too well! Bottled Happiness Stamp Set; Waves of the Ocean DSP (retired); Basic White & Crumb Cake CS; Night of Navy, Coastal Cabana & Granny Apple Green Inks; Vintage Bottle Punch; Vintage Bottle Shaker Domes; Effervescent Elements; Night of Navy Enamel Dots; Scrap of Pool Party DSP & Linen Thread; #SOS505. So perfect for the start of Fall - The Male Room #178 has a "leaves" challenge for us this month! Instead of going Autumnal, I got a little stuck on my Gorgeously Made bundle, lol. I started by flipping through the DSP pack for some color inspiration, though I ended up not using any even though I lifted this combo from one of the sheets! I went for a simple leafy stem over some Timeworn Type texture, after I used the broken text stamp from the set. (Got to open a brand new Versamark for it, too, it was glorious!) I also got to play with the notebook edge die - so cool! This ended up being a fun mix of elements, but still manly enough, I think! Gorgeously Made Stamp Set; Basic White, Pretty Peacock & Lost Lagoon CS; Pretty Peacock Ink; Gorgeously Made Dies; Timeworn Type EF; Lost Lagoon Tinsel Gems; #TMR178. Time to pick up the pace! We're having another speed round at As You See It #307 - with a "hobbies" theme! I did another hobby challenge recently, and I talked about my love of baking, so I knew this time I had to talking about the crafty bug, lol. Crafting With You is of course PERFECT for it, but how to play while keeping this in a speed challenge?? I have been all about the dies for this one until now, but then I saw this beauty by Sam Hammond Donald in the UK! The squiggle coloring idea was just what I needed, with my own twist, of course, lol. I really wanted to use this sentiment, and not quite so many images, AND, I wasn't sure I could scribble in Blends quite as artfully as she, lol, so I pulled some "blobs" from our recently retired Painted Poppies, and the slightly older Dressed to Impress. Just right! I picked my colors, and was off! Start to finish clocked at 5 minutes and 15 seconds - yes! So fun! I can't wait to see YOUR speedy creations for this one - meet you at the challenge! Crafting With You, Painted Poppies (retired 2023) & Dressed To Impress (retired 2022) Stamp Sets; Basic White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Fresh Freesia & Lemon Lime Twist Inks; Fresh Freesia Tinsel Gems; #AYSI307. What a gorgeous quote from Time Out Challenges #246! It reminds me of one I have, too, hmmm... I still love this set from 2010, Plant Hope! I think I originally got it for the pretty bonsai tree image, but it's the sentiment I have returned to, again and again, lol. Today I matched it with (of course!) the Enjoy The Journey DSP pack - I find a way to squeeze it in most everywhere, don't I?? Anyway, I was struck by how similar the trees on this gorgeous mountain sheet were to the lovely pines in the stamp set, so I went monochrome with Starry Sky, too - such a cool effect! Plant Hope Stamp Set (retired 2010); Enjoy The Journey DSP (retired); Basic White & Starry Sky CS; Starry Sky Ink; Deckled Rectangles Dies; Starry Sky Baker's Twine; Starry Sky Matte Dots; #TOC246. I LOVE our sketch this round at Hand Stamped Sentiments #422 - we're banded AND framed, lol! Further along those lines, I decided to feature this colorful stripey sheet of DSP from our Bright & Beautiful pack - I love all these colors together! I floated my DSP over a background of Bubble Bath, and added a deckled frame in Berry Burst - all about "B" today, lol. I finished with this cute "hello" from the Hello Kiwi stamp set, and a few Berry Burst Tinsel Gems. Did you see how I have a deckled circle to go with my deckled frame?? Eee! I can't wait to see your ideas for our fun sketch this round - meet you at the challenge! Hello Kiwi Stamp Set; Bright & Beautiful DSP; Basic White, Bubble Bath & Berry Burst CS; Berry Burst Ink; Deckled Rectangles & Deckled Circles Dies; Berry Burst Tinsel Gems; #HSS422. Check out our inspiring landscape colors at Sunday Stamps #317! With such a gorgeous lake view, I couldn't resist getting in on a little scene-building myself, lol. I haven't played with Oceanfront in a while, and it seems a natural fit with these outdoor colors! I stamped and stamped off in blues and browns, and finished with my greens - I even snuck in a little retired Evening Evergreen for the really dark one! I custom cut the sentiment layer with my Deckled Rectangle dies, since that was what I used for my layering, too. A quick dig and I pulled out some old Pebbles Enamel Shapes - they match so well, you almost can't see them, lol! I can't wait to see YOUR takes on our gorgeous colors this round! Meet you at the challenge! Oceanfront & Happy Labels Stamp Sets; Basic White & Boho Blue CS; Boho Blue, Night of Navy, Pecan Pie, Evening Evergreen (retired) & Old Olive Inks; Deckled Rectangles Dies; Silver Thread; Pebbles Enamel Shapes (retired); #SSC317. Whew, I can JUST barely sneak in to Time Out Challenges #245 - colorful! I couldn't resist inking up my new Pick of the Patch Stamp set, in lots of fun colors! I was smitten when I saw that cute bent gourd, and of course, the builder punch, which I also got to play with! I made a simple layout, over Lemon Lime Twist, which I also used for leaves and tendrils - so fun! I'd love some Blueberry Bushel and Berry Burst pumpkins in MY garden, lol! Pick of the Patch Stamp Set; Lemon Lime Twist DSP; Basic White & Pecan Pie CS; Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Blueberry Bushel, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight & Pecan Pie Inks; Deckled Rectangles Dies; Pick of The Patch Builder Punch; Yellow Enamel Dots; #TOC245. |
