It's really about the love this week, lol - The Flower Challenge #88 would like us to add a heart! I decided to look over my Shelves of Retirement for this one - and I haven't inked up Beautiful Thistle in who knows how long! Winner winner! I started by checking my scraps folders for something good for the background, and I came across this retired sheet of Soft Sea Foam in a plaid - perfect! I matched this with Highland Heather, to carry the theme, lol, and got to work on my thistles. Turns out I love this combo of green and purple, lol, and I stamped the smallest sentiment on this fun heart in the Radiating Stitches Dies. I even had some Purple Fine Shimmer Gems to finish things off! Beautiful Thistle Stamp Set (retired 2023); Soft Sea Foam DSP (retired); Basic White & Highland Heather CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Versamark Inks; White EP; Highland Heather & Soft Sea Foam Blends Markers; Beautiful Thistle (retired) & Radiating Stitches Dies; Purple Fine Shimmer Gems; #TFC88. I'm really liking the combo at this week's In{k}spire Me #526! Love the purples! BUT, I think I'll take just the sketch this round, lol - all my purples are out in class supplies right now! On top of that, I took some, ah, liberties, with the sketch, too - I just wanted to make it all fit! I'm debuting my Wild Ferns bundle today, and let me tell you, there are some COOL dies in this one! I really wanted to use the largest of the pierced rectangles, and I could JUST make them fit if I turned them like this, lol. Maybe too blocky? Not sure on this one, but I swear I got the IDEA from the sketch, at least, lol. I did my fern fronds in three colors, and smudged them all with a Blender Pen, floating my sentiment in the center. A few Wild Wheat Glossy Dots finishes things off! Hope I've met the brief! Wild Ferns Stamp Set; Softly Stippled DSP; Basic White & Soft Sea Foam CS; Mossy Meadow, Wild Wheat & Old Olive Inks; Blender Pen; Wild Ferns Dies; Wild Wheat Glossy Dots; #IMC526. Sympathy Cards Class February 10 This is our chance to make those cards we are always sorry to need, but that bring such comfort to the receivers. Class will feature 6 cards with envelopes, snacks, drinks and a special gift from me, all for $25. Bring your own favorite snips and adhesive! This class can also be free with your order of $30 or more! Class is on for February 10 at 2 pm - RSVP now to save your spot! Oo, something new (for me, at least, lol) this round at Shopping Our Stash #508 - a color challenge! I started by picking three colors - and I went with Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie & Misty Moonlight - what could I stamp with these? After a quick browse, I landed on Bird's Eye View - these guys are so funny! Since there are no sentiments, I Pulled Happy Labels to go with it, and got to work! I found a couple sheets of our first-run DSP stack in Misty Moonlight, and decided this text sheet would be perfect with the stack of books! I chose a studious birdie to perch on top and added some glasses to really complete the look, lol. Since we don't have Blends Markers in Garden Green (!!!) I opted for my water painters, too - I love the look! I floated all my stamping over this fun shape from Nested Essentials, and finished with a few Misty Moonlight Glossy Dots! Yay! I think this would make a great school congrats card, and I love using my old stash Misty Moonlight stuff! Bird's Eye View & Happy Labels Stamp Sets; Misty Moonlight DSP; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie & Misty Moonlight Inks; Water Painters; Nested Essentials Dies; Misty Moonlight Glossy Dots; #SOS508. I'm loving our fresh colors this round at Hand Stamped Sentiments 424! It took me FOREVER to decide what to play with for them, though, lol. I finally settled on our super cute Year To Celebrate - I love these noise-makes! My thought was I could pair up the colors to make some fun party favors! I toned things down just a bit by stamping off in key places, and I really love how it all came out! Topsy-turvy seemed appropriate for this party card, too, lol. I can't wait to see what YOU come up with for these colors - meet you at the challenge! Year To Celebrate Stamp Set; Calypso Coral DSP; Basic White & Calypso Coral CS; Calypso Coral, Lost Lagoon, Blackberry Bliss, Pebbled Path & Versamark Inks; White EP; Deckled Rectangle Dies; Calypso Coral Sheer Ribbon; Calypso Coral Sequins; #HSS424. What a great idea! Cardz 4 Guyz #331 has a "stars" theme going this round! You KNOW I had to run straight to my beloved Greatest Journey set, with its fabulous Enjoy The Journey DSP! This is just the perfect sentiment! I made a big chunky mountain to float over a stunning starry sky backdrop, so of course, that's the cardstock and ink I used, too - Starry Sky! I crack myself up sometimes, lol. Anyway, I added a pretty crescent moon, and doctored up a Deckled Rectangle for the sentiment, and finished with some tiny Orchid Oasis Matte Dots. At the last second, I slipped a paper glue dot behind the lantern, and then just didn't peel it, to make it look like the lantern was really lit! Sigh, still one of my all-time favorite suites ever! Greatest Journey Stamp Set (retired 2023); Enjoy the Journey DSP (retired); Basic White & Starry Sky CS; Starry Sky Ink; Greatest Journey (retired) & Deckled Rectangles Dies; Orchid Oasis Matte Dots; #C4G331. Pumpkin Club September 30! Did you get your September Pumpkin kit yet? The best things come in small packages! Check out the video HERE! Oo, this one might be tough - AAA Cards #247 has "sketch for a teen" challenge this round! I went with Fun On Wheels today, and kept it as simple as I could stand, lol. I first cut a big Stitched Rectangle for some White on White layering - adds a tiny bit of oomph without getting all fancy! I dabbed on some bright color with my Blending Brushes, and stamped this perspective bike over them in Black. After I sat with it for a minute, I went back and stamped the "street map" image on either side, too - very light, in stamped off Smoky Slate. My sentiment went at the bottom per the sketch, and I caved and added 3 Matte Black Dots - I'm so weak about embellies, lol. Fun On Wheels Stamp Set; Basic White CS; Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Memento Tuxedo Black & Smoky Slate Inks; Blending Brushed; Rectangle Stitched Dies; Matte Black Dots; #AAA247. We're focusing on the sentiment this week at Sunday Stamps #314 - front and center! I got a chance to browse some different stamp sets recently at a stampin' retreat - so much fun! One that I jumped at was Good Feelings - I didn't get this one, but SO perfect for a big front and center sketch like ours! I chose this happy sentiment to fit a landscape orientation a bit better, and matched it with this sunny DSP from our old Dandy Designs pack - I still have a bit of this one left, and I can't let go of the cheery color combos! I finished with this pretty Petal Pink ribbon and some bold Calypso Coral Iridescent Pastel Gems! Yum! I can't wait to see YOUR projects for our fun sketch this round - meet you at the challenge! Good Feelings Stamp Set; Dandy Designs DSP (retired); Basic White, Calypso Coral & Petal Pink CS; Calypso Coral Ink; Ribbon Duo Pak; Calypso Coral Iridescent Pastel Gems; #SSC314. Pumpkin Club July 29! Did you get your July Pumpkin kit yet? Surf's up, friends! Check out the video HERE! I hope you can join us for our next Pumpkin Club, Saturday, July 29, at 2 PM - RSVP to let me know you are attending, and we will save you a seat at the table! Club is free for my subscribers, and includes any extra supplies you might need, plus drinks and snacks! I will also have a few extra spots available for club for $10, even if you are not a subscriber - come see what we're up to - full kit not needed, I'll supply everything you need for the projects! Just bring your own snips and basic adhesive! Remember to subscribe here if you haven't already - sign up by August 10 and you can join us in time for next month! Wow, Shopping Our Stash #500 is celebrating a BIG number this round! So their challenge is to include a number in OUR entries! Since I don't actually have any numbered occasions in my immediate future, I decided to get a little sneaky, lol. Our awesome new Fun on Wheels bundle has "high five" in the sentiments! SO, not a numeral, BUT, a number, right? I did double check the challenge wording, lol, just in case! Anyway, I really wanted to use a different set of wheels this time, so I went for this Razor Scooter in hot Tahitian Tide! I matched up with the so versatile Stargazing DSP, and pulled in some other fun brights, too! And since all my shapes were stitched, I went back and ran through my background layers to stitch those, too. My dies got a workout today! Fun on Wheels Stamp Set; Stargazing DSP; Basic White, Pumpkin Pie, Lemon Lime Twist & Tahitian Tide CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Tahitian Tide Inks; Fun on Wheels, Rectangle Stitched, Nested Essentials & Stylish Shapes Dies; Tahitian Tide Matte Dots; #SOS500. Critters Class 2023 We just can't let any of our cute critters get away! Time for a critter round-up! We'll be making 6 cards with envelopes, and NO fur, lol. Class includes all supplies (bring your own fave snips and adhesive!) snacks, drinks and a special gift from me all for $25! This class can also be FREE with your order of $30 or more! Class is on for Saturday, July 15, at 2 pm! RSVP now to save your spot! We're giving a last hurrah to a couple of our departed colors this round at Hand Stamped Sentiments #415! Who's with us?? Since I got a very special delivery today of a pre-pre-preview set for our demo-only Creativity Now event coming in June, I couldn't resist inking that baby up! I'm not usually a big florals person, but the "translucent" possibilities of this set just intrigue me! I started by doing a stamped all-over background layer to check out the images - wowza! After I was done, I decided to try embossing it also - a cool trick I've been seeing a lot lately! I have to say, I'm really happy with the results! I popped up my sweet sentiment, tucked in a little stem and finished with some Petal Pink ribbon and sequins. So pretty! I can't wait to see YOUR pretty projects with our colors this round, too - meet you at the challenge! Translucent Florals Stamp Set; Basic White & Petal Pink CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Mint Macaron (retired), Balmy Blue, Petal Pink & Mango Melody (retired) Inks; Exposed Brick EF; Translucent Florals & Nested Essentials Dies; Petal Pink Ribbon Due; Iridescent Sequins (retired); #HSS415. I'm thrilled to be able to sneak into In{k}spire Me #506's latest challenge - such a cute combo! I think I can also JUST make Cardz 4 Guyz #322's National Bike Month theme! As soon as I added the bike theme, I knew I wanted to ink up my new Fun On Wheels bundle - cute wheels, and great dies to go with! I thought through the colors, and realized that Lemon Lolly is pale enough to go for my card base, so I was off to the races after that, lol. I pulled in my Stylish Shapes dies for some details, and stamped the map in Lemon Lolly behind the bike, and my sentiment onto this Granny Apple Green Banner. A few touches of Tahitian Tide Blend Marker and I think I pulled it off! Fun On Wheels Stamp Set; Tahitian Tide & Granny Apple Green DSP; Lemon Lolly, Granny Apple Green & Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Lemon Lolly Inks; Tahitian Tide Blend Marker; Fun On Wheels & Stylish Shapes Dies; Lemon Lolly Solid Gems; #IMC506; #C4G322. |
