Ahhh, LOVE our cool succulent colors this round at Sunday Stamps #303! These gorgeous colors made me want to take another try at the Picturesque set - which was made for this color scheme! I started with a Soft Sea Foam base, which I couldn't resist embossing with that Basics 3D folder again - I think this might be fave of the three, lol. Then I kept my stamping all on one layer this time, stamping off almost all my colors, and popped up the sentiment across it, cool look! I had to custom size UP this Deckled Rectangle for the saying, but a little tab of washi made that a snap! A few Balmy Blue Glossy Dots finished it off. I can't wait to see YOUR projects for our restful cool colors - meet you at the challenge! Picturesque Stamp Set; Basic White & Soft Sea Foam CS; Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Soft Sea Foam & Balmy Blue Inks; Deckled Rectangles Dies; Balmy Blue Glossy Dots. Pumpkin Club Feb 25! I'm "tickled pink" about our new color challenge this round at Retro Rubber #199! I knew I wanted to combine white, pink and green - how to make that work? I started looking over my current shelves - full disclosure - I almost forgot to include the "retro" part of our challenge! I chose this image from our hostess set Sit, Stay, Relax and colored it in Soft Sea Foam before I remembered! Luckily, I have a wealth of retired sentiments! This beauty from 2011's Pursuit of Happiness is still one of my favorites - though they're ALL awesome, lol. I can't wait to see YOUR retro take on our beautiful colors this round - meet you at the challenge! Pursuit of Happiness (retired 2011) & Sit Stay Relax Stamp Sets; Flirty Flamingo DSP; Basic White & Soft Sea Foam CS; Basic Gray Ink; Crumb Cake, Soft Sea Foam & Gray Granite Blends Markers; Pinewood Planks EF (retired); Subtle Shimmer Sequins; #RRCB199. There's a fun new "bears" challenge at this round's AAA Cards #231! My favorite CURRENT bear (don't even ask about my retired critter collection, lol) is in the super cute Count On Me set. I love this plumpy guy, lol. I kept things super CAS, simple layers, easy coloring, and just added a few tiny details to dress him up a tiny bit! Fun and fast! Count On Me Stamp Set; Basic White & Crumb Cake CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake & Real Red Blends Markers; Linen Thread; Resin Hearts (retired); #AAA231. Pumpkin Club Jan 28! We have a fun left-justified sketch for you this week at As You See It #290! I was thrilled with all that open space to play in - how to tackle the layout today? I decided to check the DSP first, and came across the Happy Forest Friends pack, which I have BARELY touched, sigh. These little scraps hardly count, either, lol, but it gave me my colors to get started with, and stuck with Mossy Meadow and White, with pops of Melon Mambo. I also recently came across my Meadows dies that have been idle too long - LOVE these stems! And I had a good time shortening this pretty sentiment die by taking a "bite" off the longer end and running through twice! Glad to get my SAB Sending Support set inked up, too! I can't wait to see what YOU make of our fun sketch this round - meet you at the challenge! Sending Support Stamp Set; Happy Forest Friends DSP; Basic White & Mossy Meadow CS; Mossy Meadow Ink; Timber EF; Meadow Dies; Melon Mambo Solid Faceted Gems; #AYSI290. Birthday Cards Class 2023! Let's start the year off by restocking our birthday card stash, shall we? We'll be making 6 delightful birthday cards with envelopes, all from the new Spring Mini and Sale-a-Bration catalogs! Class will provide all materials needed (bring your own fave snips and adhesive!), snacks, drinks and a special gift from me, all for $25! This class can also be FREE with your order of $30 or more! Class is on for Saturday, January 14, at 2 pm! RSVP today to save your spot! Wow! I am SO excited to guest design at this week's Time Out Challenge #226! This beautiful quote from Nelson Mandela is an inspiring starting place! I feel a little embarrassed, but I'm going to answer one quote with another here - my favorite one from another great man - and a great friend of President Mandela - Desmond Tutu. BOTH of these quotes speak to me about how much power we have to do good in our world! They speak in particular about the work these men accomplished together, as well. Great heads and hearts, both of them! I hope you have time to play along with us - I can't wait to see your projects! Pursuit of Happiness Stamp Set (retired 2011); New Horizons DSP (retired); Basic White & Soft Succulent CS; Smoky Slate Ink; Soft Succulent Stamp-n-Write Marker; Stitched Shapes Dies (retired); Linen Thread; Soft Succulent Opal Rounds; #TOC226. We have some great spots at our tic-tac-toe challenge this round at Retro Rubber #192! I get to make it monochrome for our challenge this week at SU Only #311, too! After much dithering, I finally settled on the diagonal of Nautical-pattern paper-blue - that bolsters my monochrome goals pretty handily! I went back to our gorgeous Sailing Home set - even though it only retired earlier this year, it was first released in 2019! And still gorgeous. I pulled this scrap of stripey DSP from the Sun Prints pack, and stuck to Night of Navy for all my details! I also love to use the blender pen on the images in this set - gives them so much pop! I can't wait to see YOUR creations for our challenges this round - meet you there! Sailing Home Stamp Set (retired 2022); Sun Prints DSP; Basic White & Night of Navy CS; Night of Navy Ink; Blender Pen; Smooth Sailing (retired) & Stylish Shapes Dies; High Seas EF (retired); Iridescent Pearls; #RRCB192; #SUOC311. Addicted to CAS # 228 has another great code word for us this round - "birds!" You know with a straight-line like a bird cue, there was no way I'd NOT do my chickens, right?? I went with the eponymous Best of Cluck one today! I started by blender brush-stenciling some faint background with a honeycomb doily - I think it's very chicken wire-esque! Next I stamped my clucker right over this in black, and then again on a piece of white scrap. I colored in my scrap chicken with my Blends Markers, and added my usual dots with a white gel pen to the body. After fussy cutting this cutie I pop-dotted it over the background for some extra dimension. These pretty Pale Papaya Fine Sparkle Gems were just the right touch to finish! Let's do the Chicken Dance! Best of Cluck Stamp Set (retired 2006); Basic White CS; Honeycomb Doily; Memento Tuxedo Black & Sahara Sand Inks; Real Red, Old Olive & Mango Melody Blends Markers; White Gel Pen; Pale Papaya Fine Sparkle Gems; #ATCAS228. There's a lovely inspo list over at Festive Friday #117 this round - all about World Alzheimer's Day! I've lost a few friends and family members to Alzheimer's over the years, this is a great day to focus on. It's such an isolating process. In line with that, I kept my card simple and fuss-free - a note of encouragement and support for those in care, and the care-givers, too. Here Together was the perfect set to say it all! I went with red, purple, and die-cuts - all I needed! Here Together Stamp Set; Rich Razzleberry DSP; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Real Red & SU700 Blends Markers; #FF0117. Very cool - Shopping Our Stash #477 has a great "back to books" challenge - good timing for back to school! This was a tough one for me - I don't have many book sets, and our just-retired Best Chapter looms pretty large, lol. Then I remembered my old Bike Ride set - weren't there books in that? A quick check on the retired "mode of transportation" shelf showed this cute stack to balance on the rack in the back - yes! And since this set didn't have ANY sentiments (usually a big no-no for me) I added in this encouraging phrase from Amazing Phrasing - just right for back to school! Bike Ride (retired 2019) & Amazing Phrasing Stamp Sets; On the Horizon DSP (retired); Basic White & Mango Melody CS; Basic Gray, Real Red, Bermuda Bay & Mango Melody Inks; Build a Bike Dies (retired); #SOS477. Pumpkin Club August 27! Did you check out your August Pumpkin kit yet? Forecast is SUNNY! Check out the video HERE! I hope you can join us for our next Pumpkin Club, Saturday, August 27, at 2 PM - RSVP to let me know you are attending, we will be all safely socially distanced at our big table downstairs! Club is free for my subscribers, and includes any extra supplies you might need, plus drinks and snacks! I will also have a few extra spots available for club for $10, even if you are not a subscriber - come see what we're up to - full kit not needed, I'll supply everything you need for the projects! Just bring your own snips and basic adhesive! Remember to subscribe here if you haven't already - sign up by September 10 and you can join us in time for next month! Wow, we have an amazing recipe board for you to cook with this week at As You See It #281! Lots of fun elements to stir in - I started with the "brights" and "patterned paper" to help set my tone. Our giant Celebrate Everything pack of DSP has the perfect set of brights options - and I can't get enough of this Granny Apple Green sheet in particular, lol. I might use every scrap! Anyway, it seemed the perfect backdrop for some bold blossoms - enter Color & Contour! Flowers, outlines to color and dies to go with seemed to fill the rest of the brief, I simply chose the rest of my brights from the coordinating colors listed on the DSP. So fresh! I ended up water-coloring my centers and leaves, since the petals had a two-step stamp for them. I can't wait to see what YOU whip up with our recipe this week - meet you there! Color & Contour Stamp Set; Celebrate Everything DSP; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Polished Pink & Poppy Parade Inks; Water Painters; Scalloped Contour Dies; Polished Dots; #AYSI281. Annual Catty Roundup Class, Aug 13 at 2 PM I couldn't resist this catch-all class to "round up" some stamp sets that don't quite fit in our other classes, lol. There will be a little bit of everything, with at least 5 all-occasion cards with envelopes today! I think some Sale-A-Bration could sneak in, too, lol! This class can also be FREE with your order of $30 or more! Class is announced for Saturday, August 13 at 2 pm - RSVP now to save your spot! |
