I'm loving our pretty colors this round at Sunday Stamps #325 - looks refreshing! On the other hand, as soon as I saw that bright orange-y yellow next to the brown, I thought "giraffe," and there was no going back, lol. Luckily, we of course HAVE a Christmas giraffe this year with the Festive & Fun set, lol. I put together a quick and festive background with some old DSP I still had, and went to work coloring my long-necked buddy here, lol. ALL the colors look pretty Christmas-y to me, so I think it totally works! I even finished with a few hoarded Old Olive Matte Dots - very fun! I can't wait to see YOUR projects with these playful (and still festive!) colors! Meet you at the challenge! Festive & Fun Stamp Set; Basic White & Real Red CS; Old Olive DSP (retired); Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Mango Melody (retired), Pecan Pie, Real Red & Old Olive Blends Markers; Deckled Rectangles Dies; Old Olive Matte Decorative Dot (retired); #SSC325. Very nice - AAA Cards #255 has a cute CAS sketch and theme for us this round - "it's cold!" I had to really think this one through for a bit, lol. I started by looking for something festive (or cold, lol) that was a partial pattern or shape I could use, and I came across this little knit piece in the Joy of Noel set - intriguing! It seemed a little large but I thought I could overlap it, and stamp off as I went to get different shades! I got started with Night of Navy and stamped my first impression. When I moved to the left for the next go, I immediately realized that, duh, this stamp is designed to lock together to create continuous pattern - so cool! I couldn't see well enough to get the third stamp lined up as well, but I love it! I cut some trees from my Forever Forest bundle and popped those over some silver thread. I finished with the sentiment below, and threw on some Solid Gems to finish. So pretty! Joy of Noel & Forever Forest Stamp Sets; Basic White CS; Night of Navy Ink; Forever Forest Dies; Silver Thread; Adhesive Backed Solid Gems; #AAA255. Did you get your December Pumpkin kit yet? Aw, such a cute one - Cardz 4 Guyz #337 would like to see Christmas elves or gnomes this round! I was a little shocked to realize that I actually don't have ANY elf sets or papers - how does that happen? So gnomes it is! I combined last year's Kindest Gnomes with the gorgeous Beary Christmas DSP - I think gnomes would totally wear this Nordic pattern, lol. I kept it fairly simple for a guy, but I DID finally use my very last 5 Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes - it's a big day! I love this little lantern gnome and dressed him all in green to go with his background. The Nested Essentials dies made for a fun shape to set him off! Kindest Gnomes Stamp Set (retired 2022); Beary Christmas DSP; Very Vanilla & Real Red CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Versamark Inks; White EP; Real Red, Old Olive, Pebbled Path, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight & SU800 Blends Markers; Gnomes (retired) & Nested Essentials Dies; Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes (retired); #C4G337. So glad to have a new round at NBUS #57 - I definitely have some new goodies to play with! Since I'm still in the Christmas zone, I think I'll go ahead and break in my VERY late acquired Merriest Trees bundle, lol. I though I was going to let this one get away, but then I spotted it on the Carry Over list, and I figured I should nab it while I could still get the bundle discount! And since I have a tone of this beautiful starry sheet leftover as scraps after a big project, I decided to do it in blue and silver - and I LOVE it! You might just see more of this set in the next couple days, lol... Merriest Trees Stamp Set; O Holy Night DSP; Basic White, Crumb Cake & Silver Foil CS; Misty Moonlight Ink; Merriest Trees Dies; Banner Pick a Punch; Misty Moonlight Tinsel Gems; #NBUS57. Fun - The Flower Challenge #87 would like us to use gold this round! Rather than trying to do my card in all gold this time, I decided to go for gold details - so striking against so many flower colors! Since we're still in the Christmas zone, too, I pulled out my beloved Reason for the Season set from 2015 - I love these fonts so much! I chose a lovely Shaded Spruce DSP sheet for my background from the Joy of Christmas pack, and got to work. Random gold poinsettia details over the DSP got me started, and then I colored one on white with my Water Painter and fussy cut it for a feature. I heat embossed this beautiful sentiment and did some doctoring with my old Stitched Nested Labels dies - I never did use these enough, lol. Some tiny Gold Pearls complete my details - love it! Reason for the Season Stamp Set (retired 2015); Joy of Christmas DSP; Basic White & Pecan Pie CS; Versamark, Real Red, Shaded Spruce & Crushed Curry Inks; Gold EP; Water Painter; Stitched Nested Labels Dies (retired; Gold Metallic Pearls; #TFC87. Oo, this looks SO FUN! Festive Friday #0149 is about Christmas Festive Food! Yum! I had been waiting and waiting to use this awesome sheet from the Traditions of St. Nick DSP pack - besides the sheets with the Santas on them, this one was my other favorite, lol. Thanks to this DSP, I knocked out a LOT of the inspo list, lol - white, brown, red, gingerbread, candy canes and hot drinks - woo! I added on a Christmas pudding from my beloved Sweets & Treats set from 2021, AND some puff paint for the hard sauce - so fun! I also snuck on some rhinestones. If only I had managed some embossing I could have hit the whole list! Anyway, I might need to get out my pudding steamer this year - I'm getting the yummies just looking at this! Sweets & Treats Stamp Set (retired 2021); Traditions of St Nick DSP; Basic White & Real Red CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Real Red, Mossy Meadow & Pecan Pie Blends Markers; Layering Circles Dies; Rhinestone Basic Jewels; #FF0149. I'm thrilled with The Male Room #181's Christmas theme - manly jingles ahead, lol. I decided a set of cute farm trucks should do the job, and came up with this stacked layout, so I could have trucks in three colors! I set up this Shaded Spruce checked sheet from Joy of Christmas for my background, and embossed a strip of White with my Christmas Tidings EF to set them off. Then I just stamped up my trucks (and trees!) in fun holiday colors - I love them! I had to fussy cut the trees for the look I wanted, but it all went smoothly! A few Wonderful Gems finishes it off! Trucking Along Stamp Set; Joy of Christmas DSP; Basic White & Cherry Cobbler CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Old Olive, Pecan Pie, Cherry Cobbler & Shaded Spruce Inks; Christmas Tidings EF; Trucking Along Builder Punch; Wonderful Gems (retired); #TMR181. So excited to get to SU Only #341 - and just in time for their month-long Christmas theme! My favorite! So, I've been using the heck out of my Stars at Night hybrid embossing-die combo, and I've finally realized I haven't even TOUCHED the stamp set that goes with it! Oops! Let's take it for a spin! I wanted to do white and blue so I opted for Boho Blue for my color and set to work. I stamped off some scattered stars on my white background in swirly patterns, then ran it through with the EF. I also stamped my sentiment full-strength - love this shape! I tucked a fancy diecut star behind it, and tousled some silver thread back there, too. For good measure, I added a few small accent stars from the dies, too, and finished with some blue rhinestones from my retired Waves of the Ocean pack. So pretty! Stars At Night Stamp Set; Basic White & Boho Blue CS; Boho Blue Ink; Stars At Night Dies & EF; Silver Thread (retired); Waves of the Ocean Rhinestones (retired); #SUOC341. Such a cute theme at this week's Shopping Our Stash #511 - "whatever the weather!" I remembered a playful weather sentiment in my old Mountain Adventure stamp set from 2016, so I decided to play with that today! I started with a background from the Beary Christmas DSP pack - love these snowflakes! Then I made a few little ski trip scenes to scatter over it, and built that cute sentiment, lol. This one just kind of came together, I really didn't have a plan, except that I didn't want to do a giant stamped scene like I usually do with this set, lol. I like how these little pictures look floating around, too! I finished with a few of my ancient Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes - I've had these for YEARS, and I'm only just now down to my last 10 or so, lol... Mountain Adventure Stamp Set (retired 2016); Beary Christmas DSP; Very Vanilla CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Night of Navy, Real Red, Balmy Blue, Mossy Meadow & Pecan Pie Inks; Water Painter; Stylish Shapes Dies; Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes (retired); #SOS511. So pretty! To finish out the cookie year, If You Give A Crafter A Cookie #187 would like to see gold! Perfect for the holidays! I knew right away I wanted to use the dies with the glorious Night Divine bundle for this one - and I kept it ALL gold and white! A super simple design in Distressed Gold paper, I made my layers with the Deckled Rectangle Dies. I heat embossed the sentiment in gold, finally using this one - yay! I placed the Nativity figures below and finished with a small Star Trinket. Lovely! Night Divine Stamp Set; Basic White & Distressed Gold CS; Versamark Ink; Gold EP; Deckled Rectangles & Night Divine Dies; Star Trinket; #Cookie187.
