I really like Christmas Craft Creations' January theme - glitter and sparkle! I wanted to try to use a Christmas set that survived the end of the holiday catty, lol, so I played with Merriest Trees, which is carrying over - yay! However, I had to dig DEEP to find a sentiment that had the actual word "sparkle" in it! I finally found my Sparkle of the Season set from 2021 - whew! After decking out my pretty tree in gold emboss and glimmer, I added the cute sentiment right over it, and finished with a few Gold Sparkle Gems. Simple and sparkly, I think! Merriest Trees & Sparkle of the Season (retired 2021) Stamp Sets; Basic White & Granny Apple Green CS; Granny Apple Green, Versamark & Real Red Inks; Gold EP; Gold Glimmer Paper; Merriest Trees Dies; Gold Sparkle Gems; #CCCJanuary2024. Since it's still a little chilly out, we'd like to see you feature some Winter Fun this round at Retro Rubber #222! When I think of winter fun, I can't help but think of the marathon sledding we used to do when I was a kid - we'd stay out for hours, and come home soaking wet! We used to dare each other to SIT on the wood stove for a few seconds, so we could hear our pants hiss while they dried, lol. Crazy! So while we never had a fancy flyer like this one (yes, we really did sled on garbage bags, lol), I knew I wanted to pull out my Alpine Adventure bundle and cut out one of these pretty sleds! I dressed it up with some markers and a little Timber embossing, added the tow rope, and I was set! This pretty sheet from the One Horse Open Sleigh pack was just right for my background! I can't wait to see YOUR winter fun cards - hope you can join us at the challenge! Alpine Adventure Stamp Set (retired 2018); One Horse Open Sleigh DSP; Basic White & Lost Lagoon CS; Lost Lagoon & Early Espresso Inks; Water Painter; Basic Black Stamp-n-Write Marker; Timber EF; Alpine Sports (retired) & Stitched Shapes Dies; Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes; #RRCB222. Yay! The luck of the calendar has me working on a two-fer today! Make My Monday #216 is back, with a New Year's theme! And Sparkles Christmas Challenge #156 wants to see a Winter Wonderland! This should be fun! OK, I think I hit on my solution - I need a sentiment that covers Christmas AND New Year's! I ventured all the way back to Hearts Come Home which retired in 2019 - whew! I built my winter scene around that using my beloved Forever Forest Dies in white over Night of Navy, then heat embossed my sentiment and some Fireworks, from this year's Light The Sky. Does it work?? Hopefully! I finished with a few Classic Matte Dots. I can't wait to see YOUR projects this round - see you at the challenges! Hearts Come Home (retired 2019) & Light The Sky Stamp Sets; Basic White & Night of Navy CS; Versamark & Night of Navy Inks; White EP; Forever Forest Dies; Classic Matte Dots; #MMM216; #SCC156. It's so perfect that I get to play my last challenge of the year at somewhere new - and super cute! I'm closing 2023 with the Aloha Friday Challenge #5 - for Christmas or Winter Animals! I went with my Regal Reindeer set for this one - the essential winter animal, right? I did a little spotlight scene this time, rather than the full diecuts, and floated the panel over this gorgeous scene from One Horse Open Sleigh. Seems like his kind of territory! I added some gentle colors, and this perfect sentiment. Can't you just see him eyeing that apple?? Lol. Happy New Year, all - hope it's brilliant! Regal Reindeer Stamp Set; One Horse Open Sleigh DSP; Basic White & Early Espresso CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Boho Blue & Early Espresso Inks; Crumb Cake, Real Red, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight & SU800 Blends Markers; Stylish Shapes Dies; Adhesive Backed Snowflakes; #AFC5. I love Just Add Ink #684's closing challenge - traditional Christmas colors, and a place to play over many blogs' breaks! Perfect! I decided to play with Wishes All Around today - I love this fresh and modern set so much, and such cool dies to go with! It was fun to imagine this in traditional colors, too - so fun when layering the wreaths! I started with an embossed background with the Christmas Tidings folder, and did my background vine wreath in gold foil. This ring of trees stamped on our retired Pear Pizzazz seemed just right! I finished with a tiny bow and some tiny gold pearls. Quick and classic! Wishes All Around Stamp Set; Basic White, Gold Foil, Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz (retired) & Real Red CS; Old Olive & Versamark Inks; White EP; Christmas Tidings EF; Wishes All Around & Stylish Shapes Dies; Real Red Faux Linen Ribbon; Gold Pearls; #JAI684. Oo, lovely! In{k}spire Me #523's theme is "Holy Christmas!" Love it! I of course turned to our Night Divine suite for this one! I recently had an idea for heat embossing the largest sentiment directly over some of the gorgeous DSP - would it show up well enough? I think it totally works! I originally thought I would do it in white to make it pop even more, but I knew I wanted to do my die cuts in gold, and also use the amazing Star Trinkets, too. So I took a shot, and I LOVE how it came out! I tried this angle shot to get it to show well for the pic, too, lol. What a great theme! Night Divine Stamp Set; O Holy Night DSP; Basic White & Gold Foil CS; Versamark Ink; Gold EP; Night Divine Dies; Star Trinkets; #IMC523. Did you get your December Pumpkin kit yet? There's still time to play at this month's Christmas Craft Creations, where we want to see your decorations! I decided to really go to the vault for this one, and pulled out my beloved Merriest Wishes set from 2016! This set has everything you need to make so many gorgeous ornaments or tags, so I chose three to feature and went to town! Each ornament is multiple layers, and I inlayed the colors on my two white beauties to achieve this crisp look - what a job! I floated them over a pretty Shaded Spruce background embossed with my Whimsical Woodland folder - such a cutie! I finished everything up with some silver details for a touch of sparkle! I can't wait to see YOUR ornament projects for this one - meet you at the challenge! Merriest Wishes Stamp Set (retired 2016); Basic White, Shaded Spruce, Pool Party, Pecan Pie, Real Red & Daffodil Delight CS; Real Red Ink; Whimsical Trees EF; Merry Tags Dies; Silver Cording Trim; Adhesive-Backed Glitter Sequins; #CCCDecemberOrnaments. Oo, super cute - FarmQuest Challenge #42 would like to see a decorated farmhouse or buildings this round - I think I can manage this! So, you just KNOW I had to go back to 2018's Farmhouse Christmas for this one, right?? I remember being all gaga over the cute truck in this one, but the farmhouse is a super keeper, too! And look how awesome it is with our One Horse Open Sleigh paper? Yes, I could have used the Farmhouse Dies to cut out a fence for the background, but why not use this lovely country lane instead? Anyway, my farmhouse had to have a few strings of lights, and some wreaths to seal the deal, in addition to being colored in Christmas colors, lol. Love it! Farmhouse Christmas Stamp Set (retired 2018); One Horse Open Sleigh DSP; Basic White, Early Espresso & Cherry Cobbler CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Versamark Inks; White EP; Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight & Pool Party Blends; Farmhouse Dies (retired); Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes; #FQCB42. Such a cute theme at this round of In{k}spire Me #521 - "Frosty Christmas!" I decided to check over some of my remaining sheets of the One Horse Open Sleigh pack of DSP - there were so many frosty scenes in this one! When I found the one I wanted to show off, I let the paper do all the heavy lifting, lol - all I added was the sentiment and a cute little snow bunny! I did spring for some more Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes (only 5 left now!) and a little Linen Thread. I love this woodsy scene! Horse & Sleigh Stamp Set; One Horse Open Sleigh DSP; Basic White & Early Espresso CS; Early Espresso Ink; Blender Pen; Horse & Sleigh and Seasonal Labels (retired) Dies; Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes (retired); Linen Thread; #IMC521. I'm loving our pretty colors this round at Sunday Stamps #325 - looks refreshing! On the other hand, as soon as I saw that bright orange-y yellow next to the brown, I thought "giraffe," and there was no going back, lol. Luckily, we of course HAVE a Christmas giraffe this year with the Festive & Fun set, lol. I put together a quick and festive background with some old DSP I still had, and went to work coloring my long-necked buddy here, lol. ALL the colors look pretty Christmas-y to me, so I think it totally works! I even finished with a few hoarded Old Olive Matte Dots - very fun! I can't wait to see YOUR projects with these playful (and still festive!) colors! Meet you at the challenge! Festive & Fun Stamp Set; Basic White & Real Red CS; Old Olive DSP (retired); Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Mango Melody (retired), Pecan Pie, Real Red & Old Olive Blends Markers; Deckled Rectangles Dies; Old Olive Matte Decorative Dot (retired); #SSC325.
