Time for another "fill in the blank" challenge this week at As You See It #274 - for the best thing about mothers! This one was a bit of a stumper for me, lol. The BEST thing? Sheesh, that's a tall order! I spent some time calling up some happy mom memories of my own, and finally decided what really came to mind for me was PRESENCE. The best thing about mothers is "being there," and being part of their children's lives, in a supportive, loving way. In my life, my happiest memories of times with my own mom are always over a teacup, lol, which was how we celebrated being together. Good times, and yummy ones, too, lol. How lucky that we have a new stamp suite just for tea! Yay! I can't wait to see YOUR answers to this one, AND your projects! Meet you there! Cup of Tea Stamp Set; Tea Boutique DSP; Basic White & Sweet Sorbet CS; Sweet Sorbet & Granny Apple Green Inks; Teacup & Stitched Shapes (retired) Dies; White Baker's Twine; Iridescent Rhinestones; #AYSI274. Critter Class 2022! You KNOW we have to have another critter class - I just can't stay away from them! Class includes all supplies needed (bring your own fave snips and adhesive) snacks and drinks, and a special gift from me, all for $25! This class can also be FREE with your order of $30 or more! Aw, our gorgeous blue collection this week at As You See It #273 is making me miss Maui even more, lol. It went too fast! It does give me a chance to do a farewell feature to the beautiful Sailing Home bundle, though. I couldn't resist adding in some of the oh-so-yummy DSP from Waves of the Ocean - the colors are perfect! I chose the sentiment that I have often reflected on, and couldn't resist a little splash of my fave seaweed die that in this this set, too - so cute with all our fishy sets! I had to add a few Waves Rhinestones, too - you know the ocean sparkles! I can't wait to see YOUR projects in our luscious blues this round - meet you there! Sailing Home Stamp Set; Waves of the Ocean DSP; Basic White, Balmy Blue & Pacific Point CS; Night of Navy Ink; Smooth Sailing Dies; High Seas EF (retired); Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels; #AYSI273. Oh, yum - check out this sweet tray of Easter cookies at this month's If You Give Crafter a Cookie #167! So pretty! I knew right away I had to go back to 2017's Basket Bunch for this one - this row of fun Easter eggs can't be beat! I made up a festive panel and went to town with my Blends Markers coloring - so fun! I found this pretty checked sheet for my background in the Pansy Petals DSP, which had Soft Sea Foam as one of the coordinating colors, so that's how I picked my green, lol. I even slipped in some "grass" along one edge from the Basket Builder dies! I need a snack, now... Basket Bunch Stamp Set (retired 2017); Pansy Petals DSP; Basic White & Soft Sea Foam CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Balmy Blue, Soft Sea Foam, Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia & So Saffron Blends Markers; Basket Builder Dies; Basic Jewel Rhinestones; #Cookie167. Hm, The Sisterhood of Crafters is running an "old, rejected" stamps challenge this fortnight. Now I love me some old stamps, for sure, but I don't know about the rejected part, lol. This might take some digging! So, it turns out, on the back of a bottom shelf, I have a little bin stash of non-SU stamp sets. That I totally forgot was there, and never dig through, so I think that qualifies as old and rejected, right?? I found 3 little sachets of stamp sets (bizarro!) and one of them was Cocktail Party from Unity Stamps. A quick search on Splitcoast shows cards as far back as 2009 using this set - wow! I have no idea how this came to me, I think someone must have given these to me, and since I'm a diehard SU! fan and demo, I don't think I ever gave them a thought, lol. But this cocktail dress is a cutie, so I matched it up with the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP still out on my desk from yesterday. I like it! No one report me to the SU police, please, lol. Cocktail Party Stamp Set (Unity, 2009?); Sunshine & Rainbows DSP (retired); Basic White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Artisan Pearls (retired); #TSOCOldRejected. Pumpkin Club March 26! OK, this week Cardz 4 Guyz #290 would like to see a fancy fold - what to do? I finally settled on a only-slightly-fancy fancy fold, lol, and went with a basic gatefold, to which I added a floating panel. One of the thing I love about these is all the room to write inside, AND that they still stand up for display. I have admit, I'm not a huge fan of card designs that don't stand up easily, lol. I used some of my precious remaining Beauty of the Earth DSP to inspire my colors, and FINALLY inked up my new Home & Garden set - which I of course didn't show off the awesome dies for yet, lol. I'm just a study in contradictions today, lol. Home & Garden Stamp Set; Beauty of the Earth DSP; Crumb Cake, Early Espresso & Basic White CS; Early Espresso Ink; Crumb Cake & Smoky Slate Blends Markers; #C4G290. Thank You Cards March 12! Today we have a beautiful collection of thank you cards, sure to be just right for your notes of appreciation! 5 cards and envelopes, all from our Spring Mini Catty, are on the menu! Class includes all supplies (bring your own fave snips and adhesive!) snacks and drinks, plus a special gift from me, all for $25! This class can also be FREE with order of $30 or more! RSVP now to save your spot! Class is on for Saturday, March 12 at 3 pm! This will be fun - CAS Christmas wants us to create a winter scene this month! I started by browsing my Christmas sets - and just how long has it been since I stamped my penguin?? Decision made! At first I had all kinds of grand plans - I still have some of the sweet DSP that goes with this set, too - but then I remembered - gotta keep it CAS! I've been seeing some gorgeous cards out there in blog-land this week that have beautifully masked backgrounds, so I decided to try it myself, and made this simple background circle from Pool Party and a Blending Brush. I added my "scene" elements directly over this, and then slid in my penguin - I love him so much! I went a little overboard with the snowflakes, so I broke them up a bit with a few last minute trees - all just part of the scene, lol. Penguin Place Stamp Set; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Pool Party, Mango Melody & Soft Sea Foam Inks; Blending Brush; #CasChristmasScene. Pumpkin Club February 26! Oo, a great combo at this week's In{k}spire Me #470 - love the colors AND the sketch! I had a tricky time pulling in all these yummy colors, lol. I dug through some DSP to help me out, and came up with this lovely Calypso Coral sheet from You're a Peach, and this little strip of Flirty Flamingo is from Simply Marbelous. I floated both of these over Flirty Flamingo layers, and then did my feature layer in my remaining two colors with our new set Flowing Flowers - I stamped some smaller flowers in Daffodil Delight, and the larger blossom in Mango Melody. I love this set! So simply, but so easy to layer, and gorgeous sentiments! Flowing Flowers Stamp Set; You're a Peach & Simply Marbelous DSP; Basic White & Flirty Flamingo CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Daffodil Delight & Mango Melody Inks; Blender Pen; Stitched So Sweetly Dies; Black Baker's Twine; Classic Matte Dots; #IM470. Flowering Fields Suite Focus Class on Saturday, Feb 12! Today's class is all about the gorgeous new mega-suite, Flowering Fields, which includes both Flowering Tulips, and Tulip Fields, plus all the perfectly coordinated goodies to go with! This class can also be FREE with your order for $30 or more! Class in on for Saturday, February 12 at 3 pm! RSVP now to save your spot! Excellent! The Sisterhood of Crafters is back from their holiday, too, with a "color blue" challenge! I knew right away that I wanted to a sweet tropical silhouette card with Paradise Palms for this one - I couldn't wait to use that big palm tree die! I made a nice blue wash background with this sheet from Beauty of the Earth DSP, and then set my scene with Night of Navy die pieces. Swoon! Starting to get Maui on the brain again, I think, lol. I also love this sentiment, which I think is likely an "inside" sentiment for the retirement wishes, but I think it looks great featured out front, too! Paradise Palms Stamp Set; Beauty of the Earth DSP; Basic White, Misty Moonlight & Night of Navy CS; Night of Navy Ink; Palms & Rectangle Stitched Dies; Frosted Epoxy Droplets; #TSOCBlue. Valentine's Bonus Class Jan 29! Well, since our shipping is running a bit behind for our usual Pumpkin Club, I decided we should have a little Valentine's Bonus instead! We'll have 4 quick and easy cards featuring two of our new stamp sets, plus a little treat box to go with! All supplies will be provided (bring your own snips and basic adhesive!), including snacks and drinks, and a little bonus gift from me! Class is on for Saturday, January 29, at 3 pm, and will be $10! This class can also be FREE with your order of $15 or more! RSVP now to save your spot! (I will still produce an alternatives project sheet for the Hugs & Kisses Paper Pumpkin, which I will share with you for free as soon as the kits come in! Can't miss our Pumpkin fun!) OK, I had to give another new (to me!) challenge a try - this is If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #164, for their January challenge! I laughed out loud when I saw this, and as I commented on a DT card that popped up on another challenge I play at, these are the only kinds of cookies for me for some while! I knew right away I would go straight to our just-retired Arctic Bears set! I also tried to tone it down a bit, and make wintry without being Christmas-centric - this set has fabulous non-Christmas sentiments! I was glad to sneak in a scrap of my wintry Beauty of the Earth DSP, but that's it - not a snowflake in sight! Arctic Bears Stamp Set (retired 2021); Beauty of the Earth DSP; Basic White, Smoky Slate & Night of Navy CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Frosted Epoxy Droplets; #CC164. I decided I couldn't resist re-creating this little gang, and I went straight to my Snow Place set from 2015 to do it! I love this set for a the little snowman wardrobe pieces in it, and of course the dies for each and every piece, lol. It was a snap to set up three snowman in the cute colors on the cupcakes. I guess mine are a little less portly, lol! I even added a Real Red layer to pick up those cupcake wrappers!
