Well, still stocking back up on birthday cards, as you can see, and Fab Friday #09 really said "flowers" to me - I seem to have Spring on the brain already! Probably to compensate for putting away the last of the Christmas decorations today, sigh... Anyway, time for some fun with my Aqua-Painter today - I was channeling Monet... You can tell, right? Hee hee... AT LAST! I finally got to play with this stamp set how I had envisioned - by going nuts with my markers, as usual! Not too many bells and whistles on this one, just lots of marker coloring on the stamps - slow and steady wins the race, every time... This Clean & Simple #222 sketch was the PERFECT showcase for this set! YAY! Patterned Party stamp set; Whisper White & Wisteria Wonder CS; Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder, ISland Indigo, Calypso Coral & Raspberry Ripple markers; self-adhesive rhinestones, au natural for a change! Well, all the sketch blogs I play at are firing back up for the new year - yay! As I studied this week's Freshly Made Sketch #67, I got to wondering about what stamp sets I hadn't played with in a while, and could I avoid doing a Valentine's card somehow... So, almost made it, but the little heart on the cuppa was too cute! I've actually NEVER used the coffee elements in this Morning Cup stamp set - I go straight for the tea cups every time! I figured this might be a cheery little pick-me-up card for the caffeine-addicted! Morning Cup stamp set; Naturals Ivory, Early Espresso (of course! Duh, it's a COFFEE card!), Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette & Riding Hood Red CS; Floral District DSP; Small & Medium Oval punches; Ovals Collection framelits; Honeycomb & Needlepoint Border embossing folders; Essentials piercing pack; Early Espresso baker's twine. So, I have some cool news to share, and I'm still totally freaked out about it. Last night, I got asked by the lovely Pam Staples over at Sunny Girl Scraps to join the Design Team at Paper Craft Crew!! Woot!! I'm so excited, and VERY nervous, but so SO flattered to be asked to join this gang of creative wonders! I'll post more details as I get more info, but, of course I had to celebrate by participating in their latest Challenge Sketch #23! I figure I better trot out some retired stuff while I still can - once I'm working on the team, I have to be all proper and stick with current toys - hah, what a hardship! Somehow, this old DSP has made its way to the top of the retired stack recently - I have to put it back on the bottom soon, because I miss it too much to ignore sometimes! And the chocolate strawberry? Yeah, like the chickens, I'll be taking that to the grave with me, I promise you... Cross My Heart & PS. I Love You (retired) stamp sets; Sweet Always (retired) DSP; Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip & Whisper White CS and inks; Hearts framelit collection; Decorative Label , 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Circle punches; self adhesive rhinestones, colored with pink sharpie! Hey, look, here I am being a better demo, too - Stampin' Up! has 2 cute Valentine's offers going on right now to coincide with celebrating the release of the new Spring Mini! Click on the picture to see the full-size flyer - I think we'll be doing some of these for some of our Valentine's cards! Cute and easy, as always, with that Simply Sent kit! It's funny, this kit was one I actually wanted to order myself, and resisted (til now!) Good thing I waited! Check out my sidebar for a link to the online version of the new catalog! I know the time is fast approaching when I have to take down the Christmas decorations, {sob}, so I always want to bring on the Valentine's decor P-D-Q - I can't have a naked house after all the holiday extravagance! I thought this standing-tag table banner was SO adorable - I figured we had to do one for class, to go with our shadow boxes! And then you can fold it up and tuck it away til next year - how cute is that?? If we didn't do all the dimensional stuff, you could even make cute cards this way, too, I was thinking... Anyway, this is definitely on our list of class projects for Jan 17! I think we'll make the kanzashi into a necklace, maybe with a pin to go with, perhaps, this banner, and a card for your sweetie... If there's interest, I figured we could also have a bonus class on Jan 31, for those that don't have a Valentine's Day shadow box insert, or who want to make the second one that Lisa and I did last year - those pictures are below. The bonus class will be for one shadow box insert, and two cards, in case the one we do on the 17th isn't enough to cover all your sweethearts! Hee hee... We can definitely do a mix-and-match-make-up of whatever you like, more cards, treats, whatever! Let me know what you think about the 31st! |
