![]() Oo, one of my favorite kind of challenges! This month's The Male Room #188 is all about animals! Yay! I decided to stick to current sets today, and one I don't use too often is Bird's Eye View - these guys are so fun to color! I did a little pair of them, with an extra studious one on the book stack, in muted manly colors. This thanks sentiment from Sweetly Scripted worked perfectly! After some fussy cutting, I finished with a few tiny first-run Misty Moonlight Dots, and I did up my envelope flap in first-run DSP, too. I also experimented with using the color lifter behind the glasses for a more faded look there - sometimes I don't even color that in, lol, but I'm happy I tried this, too! Bird's Eye View & Sweetly Scripted Stamp Sets; Misty Moonlight DSP; Basic White & Misty Moonlight CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Misty Moonlight, Copper Clay & Wild Wheat Blends Markers; Misty Moonlight Dots; #TMR188. ![]() Pumpkin Club July 27 at 2 PM! ![]() I am so stoked about all the layers on our awesome sketch at Sunday Stamps #340 this round! I started this design by browsing my DSP first - what haven't I used in a while? The clear winner was the Countryside Inn pack, lol, but I decided to mix it up with the new Changing Leaves bundle - it was so fun this week to play with that hybrid emboss! To that end, I quickly realized I was going to need to "turn" the sketch to get my sentiments to work right - does it look too crazy? I've decided that I really like how it came out, and the Changing Leaves look just as lovely in this colorway, too! I can't wait to see what YOU make of our fun sketch this round - meet you at the challenge! Changing Leaves Stamp Set; Countryside Inn DSP; Basic White & Boho Blue CS; Night of Navy & Boho Blue Inks; Changing Leaves & Deckled Rectangles Dies; Changing Leaves Hybrid EF; Boho Blue Glossy Dots; #SSC340. ![]() Pumpkin Club July 27 at 2 PM! To celebrate their 13th birthday (woo hoo!) In{k}spire Me #538 is letting us choose any combo of all their past sketch & color challenges! So hard to choose! In honor of their 13th birthday, I went all the way back to October of 2011 to pick up their thirteenth challenge - a sketch! Wow! While it was fun to reminisce over the stamps and colors they used back then, time to update this cutie! Lucky for me, I have a new leaf bundle that needs some inking! This is the Changing Leaves bundle, now available in our latest release of online exclusives. As you can see, it has some gorgeous leaf shapes, along with a hybrid embossing die set - starting to love these! I did a simple embossed background with the EF, and couldn't resist hybridizing my feature Lemon Lime Twist leaves - though with the stamping, the emboss isn't that noticeable, oops, lol. Still gorgeous, though! Happy birthday, IMC! Changing Leaves Stamp Set; Basic White, Basic Beige, Lemon Lime Twist & Granny Apple Green CS; Granny Apple Green Ink; Changing Leaves Hybrid EF & Dies; Linen Thread; Lemon Lime Twist Tinsel Gems; #IMC538. ![]() We have a glorious beachy inspiration board for you this round at Hand Stamped Sentiments #441! Yay! I knew I wanted to play again with our latest seashell set, Seaside Wishes - I love that hybrid emboss! I did a full sand dollar background in Basic Beige this time, and inked up the EF a little before running through for a little extra depth! I added a little bit of my dreamy Pool Party Sheer Ribbon - almost out of it, lol, and some pops of Calypso Coral with my starfish. I decided to heat emboss my sentiment onto Early Espresso, too, since we're all about the pop today, lol. A few Whale of a Time sequins are the perfect finishing touch! I can't wait to see YOUR take on our sunny mood board! Meet you at the challenge! Seaside Wishes Stamp Set; Basic White, Early Espresso & Basic Beige CS; Basic Beige, Calypso Coral & Versamark Inks; White EP; Seaside Wishes Hybrid EF & Dies; Pool Party Sheer Ribbon; Whale of a Time Sequins (retired); #HSS441. ![]() Pumpkin Club June 29 at 2 PM! This card turned out to be one of rare "no stamping" creations, lol, made easy peasy with our new "Mix & Match" line! I wasn't feeling any of my current flower sets (shh!) so I turned to some open packs I had already to see what there was in the flower department! I found these two brush-stroke type flowers in Fully Flowering, and floated it over this scrap strip of Soft Seam Foam on Flirty Flamingo - so much more pink than I usually do, lol! I also added this sentiment from the Saying Something pack - it was hard to choose! I'm really happy with how this came out - this mix and match thing can be fun! Fully Flowering & Saying Something Ephemera Packs; Soft Sea Foam DSP; Basic White & Flirty Flamingo DSP; Eyelet 3D EF; Pretty in Pink Resin Dots; #TFC92. ![]() Woo hoo! We're off to the races again at As You See It #325 - thank you in 10 minutes or less! As usual when I'm pressed for time, I turned to my DSP, lol, and this time, I even had some cuties already cut out - super cheating! I think I can say that our whole Latte Love suite is firmly in my Top 5 Favorites-of-all-SU-time, perhaps even in the #1 spot! I love the images, the sentiments and the DSP SO MUCH, and the Swirl Dots, too! For today's card, I pulled out all my Latte stuff and started the clock. Since I knew I had pre-cut pieces in my DSP, I didn't start digging through those til time had started at least, AND I included the envelope flap in my time, too - gotta be fair, lol. I even inked up some coffee splatter for my bare edge - just right! 7 minutes and 43 seconds is just right for a cuppa! I can't wait to see YOUR speedy thank yous - meet you at the challenge! I love the theme for this round's Shopping Our Stash #522 - "How does your garden grow?" I knew just what I wanted to use, too - these bunch of radishes is from our oh-so-playful Eclectic Garden set that retired last year - I so didn't use it enough! I always gravitate towards these little radishes - so fun to color, and the curved sentiment fits perfectly over it! It looks really cute on this Radiating Stitches rectangle, too! I tried out the Basic Beige ink on the background - can't go wrong with flying radishes, right? Eclectic Garden Stamp Set (retired 2023); Basic White & Granny Apple Green CS; Basic Beige & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Cherry Cobbler, Real Red, Petal Pink, Granny Apple Green & Crumb Cake Blends Markers; Radiating Stitches Dies; Linen Thread; Granny Apple Green Glitter Sequins; #SOS522. ![]() We are perfectly layered this round at Sunday Stamps #336! I went crazy, and turned the sketch today, lol - I haven't done this in a while, I don't think! But it turned out to be a great strategy for getting in this gorgeous landscape piece of DSP from my carefully hoarded Enjoy the Journey pack, AND I still had room to get in the good "mountain" sentiment from Greatest Journey to go with it! Winner all around - this is still one of my favorite suites of ALL TIME, lol, can you tell?? I snuck in a little Melon Mambo Cotton Ribbon and some Solid Faceted Gems to finish up! I can't wait to see YOUR lovely projects with our fun sketch - meet you at the challenge! Greatest Journey Stamp Set (retired 2023); Enjoy the Journey DSP (retired); Basic White & Melon Mambo CS; Melon Mambo Ink; Melon Mambo Cotton Ribbon; Melon Mambo Solid Faceted Gems; #SSC336. ![]() Yum! We have a tasty recipe for you to try this round at As You See It #323! White, black and one other color is a really classic color challenge, how cool that we're adding dies and texture, too! So, what a great way to show off a new In Color, too - and so far, my favorite is Summer Sky, lol - can you tell? This is the only In Color ribbon I got this time, and it was fun to make up these playful paint brushes in the inks! They really pop against that textured Basic Black background, too! I haven't played as much with Trusty Tools as I normally would - for some reason I've been putting it off for Man Cards next month, lol, but that little paint brush, I just can't resist! Love how this came out! I can't wait to see what YOU cook up with our recipe this round - meet you at the challenge! AAA Cards #264 has a lovely sketch for us this round - yay! I have to confess right up front - it took me three tries to get this card to a place that made me happy, lol, and I almost never design that way either! I've always been a warts-and-all kind of blogger - when something doesn't quite go how I imagined, I tend to forge ahead anyway, and then call out some things I might have done differently on retrospect - because I want you to see that it's ALWAYS a process, and sometimes the process is bumpy! Not today, though... I first started with a white-on-white Stitched layer for the stamping, then tried the twiggy wreath in a couple browns. Sigh. Cutting down for a layer was too tight - it didn't look right! But first I tried it on a colored layer, in Fresh Freesia, still no good, sigh. So then I went for stamping straight onto the card base, and then, I stamped off two more times with the wreath to sort of soften it up a little. Then I was able to pop dot my flowers, and add the sentiment stamped on Freesia - whew! I did finish with a few Brass Dragonflies just because - maybe perhaps a little overboard for the AAA brief! But I made it, lol! Encircled in Nature Stamp Set; Basic White & Fresh Freesia CS; Early Espresso Ink; Granny apple Green, Daffodil Delight & Fresh Freesia Blends Markers; Brass Dragonflies; #AAA264. ![]() Critter Class 2024, Saturday May 11, 2 PM Yay!
