Oo, this could be really elegant! Inspire Create Challenges #180 has a shades of gray challenge! I decided I really wanted to play with my Encircled in Nature bundle - it has a lot of elegant details I can use, and I don't use it enough, lol. I started by stamping the twig wreath and some trees onto a Smoky Slate background, then I layered on some diecut details as well, before adding a tiny sentiment. I finished with a few Basic Gray Pearls, too. I tweaked a little, and in the end had to call it good - not sure I pulled off my "elegant" goal here - though it's definitely prettier in person, lol. Encircled in Nature Stamp Set; Basic White, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate & Gray Granite CS; Basic Gray Ink; Encircled in Nature Dies; Basic Gray Pearls; #ICC180.

Super excited that I can squeeze in the latest challenge from Farm Quest #61 - they're looking for grain-eating farm or rural animals! Let's see if I can do a better job this time, lol... I've been trying to mix us the "western" style sets I use at FQ lately, and I happened across my Ride the Range bundle just today - I didn't even remember that I had this! The bigger shocker is that I think this might be the only horse I have - yikes! I'll have to keep an eye peeled for future horsey sets, lol. Anyway, horses like grain for a treat, right? So I think this works, lol. And I'm always needing thank you cards, this will add a nice variety to my stash, I think! I love the fence and windmill dies that go with it, too - I used the heck out of those when this set was more current, lol. Ride the Range Stamp Set (retired 2021); Take to the Sky DSP; Basic White, Basic Gray, Pecan Pie & Copper Clay CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Granny Apple Green, Copper Clay, Misty Moonlight, Cherry Cobbler, Gray Granite, Crumb Cake, Pebbled Path& SU900 Blends Markers; Open Range & Stitched Shapes Dies (both retired); Rustic Metallic Dots; #FQCB61. Ooo! What yummy fall colors at this round of Cupcake Inspirations #603! I quick ran to my retired papers to see if I had any Bermuda Bay still, lol, that's my favorite Turquoise! I was thrilled that I found an intact sheet of my favorite ever DSP stack pattern - this plaid pattern is TOO cute! I set up a pretty plaid background over Early Espresso, and stamped some cups from our Latte Love set for the rest. I know I've always been pretty focused on the DSP for this set, but I CAN stamp in whatever colors I want, too, lol. I colored up my cups in Pumpkin Pie, and smudged my two latte foams a little with a Blender Pen. I can almost smell the Pumpkin Spice here, people! Latte Love Stamp Set; Bermuda Bay DSP (retired); Basic White & Early Espresso CS; Early Espresso Ink; Pumpkin Pie Blend Marker; Blender Pen; Latte Love Dies; Neutrals Sequins; #CIC603. We're about to find out! Class will include product shares of all the awesome offerings, including a full A Little Bit Festive DSP pack! You'll also get 6 full size cards bases and envelopes, plus a full pack of notecards and envelopes - we're going to have a blast! RSVP now to save your spot! What's not to love about our beautiful Fall inspiration board at this round of Hand Stamped Sentiments #447?? I couldn't help but gravitate to the upper left corner and that beautiful cuppa with the pretty leaves! I totally knew I wanted to combine some Fall sets with Latte Love, and that's just what I did! I started by setting up the background from the Rings of Love DSP - a couple really sweet Fall sheets in there! Then I picked a latte cup from my A Little Latte pack - this yellow cup was just right! I tucked in some autumnal sprigs cut with the Splendid Stems Dies, and finished with a few Gold Iridescent Gems - lovely! I can't wait to see what YOU come up with from our beautiful inspo board - meet you at the challenge! Latte Love Stamp Set; A Little Latte & Rings of Love (retired) DSP; Basic White, Poppy Parade, Crushed Curry & Cajun Craze CS; Poppy Parade Ink; Latte Love & Splendid Stems (retired) Dies; Iridescent Gems in Gold; #HSS447. Super fun! Festive Friday #0167 is all about harvest time! Perfect timing as always! As soon as I saw "apron" on the inspo list, I knew I'd be using my Apron of Love bundle for this one - what else can I snag? I totally have gingham, and I think Grapefruit Grove is a fruity color, and I can use twine for the apron strings, and I can get a scallop layer on there - let's do it! This is what I wound up with - I don't have any Grapefruit Grove CS anymore (I actually didn't care for this color, lol) but it matches just fine with Calypso Coral! I did a nice solid background, then did a tilty scalloped panel in the gingham for my apron - so fun! At the last second, I decided to add some kitchen tools to the pocket - just the right touch! Apron of Love Stamp Set (retired 2019); Gingham Gala DSP (retired); Basic White & Calypso Coral CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Crumb Cake Blend Marker; Apron Builder & Stitched So Sweetly Dies (both retired); Calypso Coral Twine; Woven Threads Sequins in Calypso Coral (retired); #FF0167. RSVP today to save your spot! Who's ready for an end of summer campout?? We are at Retro Rubber #238! Smell that wood smoke! You KNOW I had to pull out my beloved Greatest Journey suite for this one, lol - I can't get enough of it still! Even though it retired in 2023, I have carefully hoarded plenty of the Enjoy the Journey DSP, too - perfect for my mountain backdrop here! I still have Starry Sky CS and inks, too, but for some reason I just had Blackberry on the brain today, lol, so out it came! I stamped and stamped off some pretty trees to surround my fancy tent, and set up a hiker nearby, too! The "mountain' sentiment had to be there as well, and I got to use my Transparent Dots - woo hoo! I can't wait to see YOUR "great outdoors" - and don't forget to make it Retro! Greatest Journey Stamp Set (retired 2023); Enjoy the Journey DSP (retired); Basic White, Blackberry Bliss & Fresh Freesia CS; Blackberry Bliss Ink; Greatest Journey (retired) & Rectangle Stitched Dies; Transparent Dots in Blackberry Bliss; #RRCB238. We have a such a pretty theme for you this round at As You See It #330 - vintage or shabby chic! This is outside my usual wheelhouse! Fortunately, I still have my just-retired Season of Chic bundle to help me along! I was latecomer to this bundle, lol, it took me almost a year and a half to realize I HAD to have those dies! Today I just played with a few of the elements, double-stamping and stamping-off my shell and leaf, tucking in the glorious mesh, spattering. For the coup de grace, I even distressed the edges of my background, lol. Not too bad for not having any classically "vintage" stamps! I can't WAIT to see YOUR vintage/shabby projects for this one - you all always amaze me! Meet you at the challenge! Season of Chic Stamp Set (retired 2024); Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Distressed Gold & Oxidized Copper CS; Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral & Pretty Peacock Inks; Chic Dies (retired); Linen Thread; Gilded Gems; #AYSI330. Time for another tic-tac-toe at Retro Rubber #237! I am always challenged by which "row to hoe" on these, lol - I change my mind a lot, too! This time, I went with the right-hand column - Patterned Paper - Twine - and my choice, I chose diecutting! Some pretty paper I haven't played with in a bit is my glorious A Little Latte pack - I love this stuff so much! I will be stretching this in my hoard for quite some time to come! I knew I wanted to diecut some of the DSP images, too, and to keep it Retro, I went back to 2017's Coffee Cafe for the sentiment! I love to pull old sentiments for current sets - so many ways to stretch it all out! Anyway, this sweet little oval was just right for my trio of cups over that swirly background - I feel a run to Black Rock coming on! I can't wait to see your tic tac toe projects - and don't forget to make it Retro! Coffee Cafe Stamp Set (retired 2019); A Little Latte DSP; Basic White & Early Espresso CS; Early Espresso Ink; Coffee Cups (retired) & Latte Love Does; Linen Thread; Swirl Dots; #RRCB237. Such a fun layered sketch at this round's Sketch Saturday #756, and so many great spins on it by the DT! I decided I really wanted to turn this sketch - I feel like I've been on landscape a lot lately, lol, time to bring back the portrait! With these layered blocks, I knew I could feature a bold DSP, too, so straight to Flowering Zinnias I went! These are SUCH bright colors - they are sure to cheer up the gloomiest day! I started by picking a gorgeous feature zinnia to fussy cut, then added in these bright Melon Mambo panels behind. I didn't quite have enough room to add my sentiment directly to the background white, but this gave me the chance to heat emboss it over a nice Blackberry strip. I think I need a nice melon berry spritzer now, lol! I finished with some Fine Shimmer Gems for the fizz! Yum! Simply Zinnias Stamp Set; Flowering Zinnias DSP; Basic White & Blackberry Bliss CS; Versamark Ink; White EP; Blackberry Bliss Fine Shimmer Gems; #SS756. Snow in August Class Saturday August 17! I am SO excited to guest at this round of The Male Room #189 - "mixed media!" Something new for me - eee! I had to really think this one through for a bit - what is "mixed media" exactly? I dug deep and decided it just meant different media to produce the final result - translation - how many toys can I use?? I opened up all my bottom craft drawers to see what I had that I just don't pull out very often, and I came across my old box of Brusho Crystal Colors, AND several unopened jars of White Embossing Paste. Turns out the one I grabbed had SHIMMER, too, lol, but I decided to go for it! I started by pulling a scrap of water color paper, and liberally dotting it with Blue Brusho - you can even see the little pierced holes if you look close, lol. I swirled it around with an Aquapainter for this really deep color, cut it out with dies, then went through some decorative masks to overlay in paste. At the last second, I added some Red Brusho to my paste dab - I think it looks cool against the blue, though my desk might not ever be the same! I layered up this diecut Thanks in Black, finishing with an Oxidized Copper sheet for even more color. I also versamarked some leaves on my Crumb Background, stapled on some twine, and distressed my edges. Hopefully this isn't too foo-foo for a guy! Changing Leaves Stamp Set; Basic White, Crumb Cake & Basic Black CS; Watercolor Paper; Oxidized Copper Foil; Versamark Ink; Brusho Blue & Red Crystal Colors; Shimmer Embossing Paste; Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks; Stitched Nested Labels & Greetings Dies (both retired); Linen Thread; Stapler; Distress Tool; Crumb Cake Earth Tone Shimmer Gems; #TMR189. |
