Oh yes! Time for another speed challenge at As You See It #361 - and it's all about apples! This could be tricky for me, as a lot of my favorite apple sets involve LOTS of coloring. Time to whittle this down! The number one key to speed challenges for me is PREP, lol. Cut the cardstock and papers, open the inks, mount the stamps, pull out markers, ribbons and embellies to stand by. Double check the supplies, aaaaand GO! I pulled my Apple Harvest bundle from last year for this one, and thought I could get a schoolhouse charm kind of look over a black plaid, so I prepped my background and envelope cuts with this sheet from Plaid Tidings. Next up, I knew I didn't want to die cut the apples, and this little pair on a branch looked like the least amount of coloring. And how about that, there's already white Stylish Circle in the die sleeve - perfect! Once I started the timer, the only die cut I needed to do was the sentiment, which also used Stylish Shapes. I got the "banner" look by cutting off the left side flag with the long edge of the same die - came out cool! I stopped the clock just past 9 minutes! Wow! I can't wait to see YOUR speedy creations - get ready to slay us with apples! Apple Harvest Stamp Set (retired 2024); Plaid Tidings DSP (retired); Basic White & Real Red CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Pecan Pie, Granny Apple Green, Real Red, Lemon Lolly & Petal Pink Blends Markers; Stylish Shapes Dies; Neutral Matte Dots; #AYSI361.

Such a cute combo at this round of In{k}spire Me #574 - but those colors look tough! Well, I couldn't manage the colors this time, but the sketch inspired me to finally bust in to my 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar! What a cool little suite collection! The stamps gave me the perfect images and sentiment for the sketch, and there was some awesome DSP in one of the doors, as well as TWO sets of dies! I also used these gold glitter gems I found in another door - a match made in heaven, but still so many other products to break in! I can't wait, lol. 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar Suite Collection; plus, Basic White, Secret Sea, Old Olive & Basic Beige CS; Secret Sea, Flirty Flamingo, Misty Moonlight & Crushed Curry Inks; Eyelet 3D EF; #IMC574. So fun! I spotted FarmQuest #77's pumpkin theme and couldn't resist! I don't think I've used the cute little pumpkins that come as an accessory in our awesome Tractor & Co set, so I went with those! I've also been wanting to set the tractor up against my old Day at the Farm DSP, too - perfect hilly farm scenery for a busy tractor, lol. I did today's tractor up in Granny Apple Green, a la John Deere, lol, and tried out the cute thanks sentiment, too. So cute and playful - I need to use this set more! Tractor & Co Stamp Set & Dies; A Day at the Farm DSP; Basic White, Granny Apple Green, Basic Black & Smoky Slate CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Granny Apple Green & Pumpkin Pie Inks; Granny Apple Green Stamp-n-Write Marker; Tasteful Label Dies; Orange Faux Glass Dots; #FQCB77. Such a cute sketch at this round of Try a Sketch on Tuesday #682 - I love it! I knew I wanted to pull out my one vertical stamp set for this one - last year's Vertical Blooms set. But what to have with it? As I was scanning the shelves for some shapes that I thought would fit, I spotted Happiness Blooms, and I was reminded of the gorgeous DSP - which I totally still have!! And so, this card was born. Not much layering so I could fit that sentiment in, but still, I really like the look! Vertical Blooms Stamp Set (retired 2024; Hues of Happiness DSP (retired); Basic White CS; Night of Navy Ink; Night of Navy Milky Dots; #TSOT682. So, AAA Cards #302 has a "follow my lead" challenge this round, and for whatever reason, I don't usually end up doing these, lol. BUT, on the leader card, I realized that I have this sentiment in another format - bingo! After a quick browse, I actually have this one in TWO formats, lol, gotta love a good pun! I went with the one from 2021's Cute Fruit - I just cant get over the little faces for all the playful fruit pieces! I totally had to put Rico Suave on the pineapple, so my Mr. Happy watermelon slice didn't get lonely, lol. I gave them a little pink cloud to float over, too, and then had to finish with matching Sparkle Gems. I love it when my cards are so happy to see me! Cute Fruit Stamp Set (retired 2021); Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Granny Apple Green, Strawberry Slush & Darling Duckling Inks; Blending Brush; Strawberry Slush Sparkle Gems; #AAA302. Oo, I love these colors at AAA Cards #299 this round! I love purples with everything, lol. These colors also made me think of Fall, so I went looking for something leafy to play with. When I spotted 2018's Falling For Leaves, I knew I wanted to color in this fancy maple leaf - so fun! Looking over the colors, I went with Cloud Cover, dark and light Blackberry Bliss and Pecan Pie, and I think they look pretty great together! I finished with a few Cloud Cover Flat Pearls, too, I can never resist just a touch of embellishment, lol. Falling For Leaves Stamp Set (retired 2018); Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Dark & Light Blackberry Bliss, Cloud Cover & Pecan Pie Blends Markers; Cloud Cover Flat Pearls; #AAA299. Wow, SU Only #384 has some gorgeous bold colors for us this round! After seeing gray, orange and hot pink in the color sampler, I pulled my Treasured Kindness set from 2023. I figured I could pair the Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo together on the leafy clouds for the tree, and maybe add in Smoky Slate all over for the rest! I also used some Basic Gray for the darker details. Starting with the leaves, I layered on my Mambo over stamped-off Pumpkin. THEN I added the detailed tree trunk in Basic Gray, and added some filler and the base in Smoky Slate. And doesn't it look perfect cut out with this bordered circle from our Spotlight on Nature dies?? A fern-embossed background of Smoky Slate takes care of the rest - so fun! I love incorporating unusual colors in botanicals! Treasured Kindness Stamp Set (retired 2023); Basic White & Smoky Slate CS; Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Pumpkin Pie & Melon Mambo Inks; Spotlight on Nature & Tasteful Labels (retired) Dies; Fern 3D EF (retired); Basic Gray Pearls; #SUOC384. Christmas Cards Part 2 September 13! I'm having an extra focus on Christmas this year! Instead of a Fall/Thanksgiving class (we'll hit that in our next Pumpkin Club!) I'm adding an extra Christmas card class so I have room to cover the many gorgeous and amazing Holiday offerings we have this year! Christmas Cards Part 2 will feature 6 cards with envelopes, all from the newly launched Holiday Mini Catalog, or the latest Online Exclusives! Class will also include snacks and drinks, plus, a special gift from me, all for $25! Class is ON for Saturday, September 13 at 2 pm! RSVP now to save your place! Such a great theme this round at Time Out Challenge #296 - friendship/ encouragement/support - so important! Today I went with the Label Me Grateful bundle - I was fascinated by the dies that came with this one, lol, and the sentiments are so uplifting! I decided to use the "heart of yours" one today - what a loving expression! I laid everything over some pretty DSP from the Florals in Bloom DSP, and added a couple of leafy sprigs and two flowers from the dies as well! Since the flower centers are pierced, I punched 1/2" Circles to put behind them, in opposite colors, so I could pop them up around the sentiment. It was only AFTER I finished the card that I realized that Poppy Parade isn't one of the coordinating colors for this - oops! Label Me Grateful Stamp Set & Dies; Florals in Bloom DSP; Basic White, Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green & Darling Duckling CS; Poppy Parade Ink; 1/2" Circle Punch; Darling Duckling Flat Pearls; #TOC296. Time again for our favorite stamping game! Tic tac toe this round at Retro Rubber #261! Today's game ended up for me being what tiles I wanted to AVOID, lol - does this happen to you? "Distressed Look" and "Washi Tape" had me running, lol, though I suppose I could have used ribbon or twine instead of washi! So I landed on the top row of Punch-Fruit-Colored Pencils, and had a great time, lol. I so rarely break out my colored pencils (watercolor pencils count, right?) it was good to be reminded how much fun they are again! I pulled my Sweet Strawberry Set from 2022 for my fruit, because it has a punch, too. I started with a nice Versamark background over Crumb Cake, and then added my trio of berries. For some reason, this is making me thirsty! Good times! I can't wait to see how YOU play our grid this round, and don't forget to make it RETRO! Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set (retired 2022); Basic White, Real Red & Crumb Cake CS; Versamark & Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Real Red, Cherry Cobbler & Granny Apple Green Watercolor Pencils; Layering Circles Dies; Strawberry Builder Punch (retired); Red Sequins; #RRCB261. Thanks for the head's up, Festive Friday #190! Now, in spite of one of these little suckers stinging me this week (I didn't realize you enjoyed swimming in the bird bath so much, grrr) I wanted to do a more realistic bee card! Which means 2020's Honey Bee stamp set, with its Detailed Bee dies! I started with a dramatic Crushed Curry and Basic Black background - and I snuck in 2023's Hive EF on the Black layer! I stamped up this gorgeous Crushed Curry hive, and decided to add my little sentiment directly to it. Then I decided some Gold Foil honeycomb pieces would really pop tucked in behind it. Next up my pretty trio of bees! I colored their stripes in Dark Daffodil Delight, and added some Wink of Stella to their wings for a little shimmer. A few honey Gold Textured Dots finishes it off. Yum! Honey Bee Stamp Set (retired 2020); Basic White, Crushed Curry, Basic Black & Gold Foil CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Crushed Curry Inks; Daffodil Delight Blends Markers; Clear Wink of Stella; Detailed Bee Dies (retired); Hive EF; Gold Textured Dots; #FF0190.
