Ooo, this fill-in-the-blank is a GOOD one! What kinds of cards do YOU send? At As You See It #370, we want to know! After Christmas cards, I seriously send a LOT of thank you cards, lol. I love to send them! I think it might have all started when I was the "Appreciation" chair on our grade school PTO board. Besides wrangling our "appreciation" events, like lunches for teachers, I also sent out thanks to every person who helped out in some way. And I never lost the habit! When you think about it, there's a lot to be grateful for, and I love letting people know, lol. I put together today's "thanks" using the 12 Days of Crafting Advent collection - it's always fun to dig through the bag of stuff and see what comes of it! I can't wait to see YOUR card adventures, too - meet you at the challenge! 12 Days of Crafting Advent Collection (stamp set, DSP, Gold Glitter Gems); Basic White & Crushed Curry CS; Crushed Curry & Secret Sea Inks; Seasonal Labels Dies (retired); Crushed Curry Heavy Baker's Twine; #AYSI370.

Well, these color inspiration cupcakes at Cupcake Inspirations #635 look delicious! I'll try to do them justice! I took a little browse through the shelves of retirement for this one, and spotted the lovely Sheltering Tree from 2019 - perfect! I really wanted to keep things pretty simple - a sweet Spring scene, minimal layers - I caved on a few butterflies, though, lol. I started with my tree trunk in Early Espresso, then stamped off the leaves in Granny Apple Green, and also the swoosh stripe below. My sentiment fit perfectly to one side of the tree! I finally hit on a way to pull in my Melon Mambo by doing some scattered stems and flowers down the "hill" - and finished with three tiny butterflies. Just so sweet - this is making me smile! Sheltering Tree Stamp Set (retired 2019); Basic White CS; Early Espresso, Granny Apple Green & Melon Mambo Inks; Brushed Brass Butterflies (retired); #CIC635. Oh, adorable - Farm Quest #81 is all about baby animals, farm or otherwise! I have just the thing! It's been a bit since I've had my all-time favorite chickens in the whole universe out - 2006's Best of Cluck! And let me express a tiny shock that in all this time, I've never actually used the NAME OF THE STAMP SET as a blog post title! I usually burn that in the first one or two times I ink up a set, lol. Crazy! Anyhoo, this little pile of chicks is perfect for a farm card, lol, and I love that they have this perfect thank you sentiment curving over them! Just right for an oval, but I still had to fussy cut my little troop - like they even need more cuteness! I found my old pack of Gingham Gala DSP, and I had all but one of the Highland Heather sheets still, so I used that one, but it looks cute with Crumb Cake, especially a strip chicken scratch and pecks, lol. So much fun! Best of Cluck Stamp Set (retired 2006); Gingham Gala DSP; Basic White & Crumb Cake CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Crumb Cake Inks; Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight & Darling Duckling Blends Markers; Layering Ovals Dies (retired); Gorgeous Grape Mini Striped Ribbon (retired); Darling Duckling Flat Pearls; #FQCB81. So fun! Festive Friday #204 has a St. Patrick's inspo list for us this round! Right before I got started on this one, I glanced through my little stack of stamps that still need to get inky for the first time - our new Service Essentials was right on top, and I couldn't resist! I was able to cover green, yellow, paper tearing and gold foil! Some US Army-esque insignia seemed just right for a green and gold theme! I feel a tiny bit nervous about this one, because my star-and-stripes is entirely fictional - hopefully it won't offend anyone - that star is kinda skirting the edge, but it's all upside down and backwards anyway! I added a little service thank you dog tag underneath, too - I have a little pack of ball chains in a drawer that I must have picked up at some point - I though it would look cool to use the actual chain instead of a stamped one! I can't wait to see and do more with this set - for all the branches, too! Service Essentials Stamp Set & Dies; Season of Elegance DSP (retired); Basic White, Mossy Meadow & Basic Beige CS; Mossy Meadow & Crushed Curry Inks; Ball Chain; Earth Tone Shimmer Gems; #FF0204. I started by pulling my inks - Old Olive, Soft Sea Foam, Pretty Peacock and Boho Blue seemed like the closest match to me! When I browsed my shelves with these in hand, Layers of Beauty leapt out! But, I knew I'd have to trim down that extravagant floral image - no problem! I ended up using the layering masks to color up the whole thing, and then trimming out the two largest blooms - and have the remainders tucked in the die sleeve for a rainy day, too, lol. I kept the layers all white, and finished with this "grateful" sentiment, and three of the smallest Boho Blue Glossy Dots. Love it! Layers of Beauty Stamp Set, Masks & Dies; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Soft Sea Foam, Old Olive, Pretty Peacock & Boho Blue (retired) Inks; Blending Brushes; Boho Blue Glossy Dots (retired); #AAA307. Super excited to sneak peek another upcoming set - this one from a full suite of items! The stamps and dies are called Filled With Sweetness, and I have to say, that's right on the nose! This suite really "jams," lol. Anyway, I used LOTS of dies for this one, for the jar and label, the spoon, even the tag! I think I really need some toast right now, or maybe a big bowl of ice cream? Either would be delish with this strawberry jam on top! I can't wait to see YOUR sweet projects, with at least 2 dies - meet you at the challenge! Filled With Sweetness Stamp Set & Dies; Homemade Sweetness DSP; Basic White, Strawberry Slush, Silver Foil & Lemon Lime Twist CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Strawberry Slush Inks; Blending Brush; Strawberry Slush & Lemon Lime Twist Blends Markers; White Baker's Twine; Strawberries & Dots Embellishments; #MMM271. Thank You Cards 2026, Feb 14, 1 pm Today's class will feature 6 thoughtful Thank You Cards, all from our new Spring Mini and latest Online Exclusives, with envelopes. Class also includes all supplies needed (bring your own snips and adhesive!) and drinks and snacks, all for $25! This class can also be FREE with your order of $30 or more! RSVP today to save your spot! Class is ON for Saturday, Feb 14, at 1 pm - note the special time! Lol, Shopping Our Stash #561 would like to see "a quick thank you," that is, 30 minutes or less! Hah, I say, I've been trained by As You See It to go for 10 minutes!! OK, so I DID use a new stamp set for this one, I couldn't resist once I spotted the sentiment in our upcoming Unbridled Beauty stamp set - and I don't have any horsey stamp sets already! So I cheated a little, but I also used my Early Espresso Linen Thread, which has been languishing on my desk since it arrived, and I was able to pull in the Streaked Dots, which I though added a nice wood-looking touch as well. Also, I will never part with my beloved Tasteful Labels Dies from 2022 - these babies have just the right size shape and size for all my oddball sentiments!! After all that, even with the fussy-cutting, I finished at 17 minutes, 45 seconds! Unbridled Beauty Stamp Set; Basic White & Pecan Pie CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Early Espresso Inks; Pecan Pie, Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow & Smoky Slate Blends Markers; Tasteful Labels Dies (retired); Early Espresso Linen Thread; Streaked Dots; #SOS561. Uh oh, the DT at The Male Room #204 is throwing down! They're calling for a FLORAL man card! I had to really buckle down for this one, lol. I finally settled on these spare wildflowers from Nature's Harvest. I decided to float them over this muted plaid sheet from the Timeless Plaid pack, and took my colors from there - I think Cajun Craze makes a good man-flower color, lol. As I was pulling the die for these, I was reminded again that there's a second sheet of dies, so I added these grassy stems behind the flowers, too - very meadow-like! I went with the thank you sentiment because it had this sweet die to cut it out, and I tucked a linen thread bow behind it just because - but that's it - no embellies! Nature's Harvest Stamp Set (retired 2023); Plaid Tidings DSP; Basic White, Cajun Craze & Mossy Meadow CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze & Mossy Meadow Inks; Water Painter; Harvest Dies (retired); Linen Thread; #TMR204. Oh yes! Time for another speed challenge at As You See It #361 - and it's all about apples! This could be tricky for me, as a lot of my favorite apple sets involve LOTS of coloring. Time to whittle this down! The number one key to speed challenges for me is PREP, lol. Cut the cardstock and papers, open the inks, mount the stamps, pull out markers, ribbons and embellies to stand by. Double check the supplies, aaaaand GO! I pulled my Apple Harvest bundle from last year for this one, and thought I could get a schoolhouse charm kind of look over a black plaid, so I prepped my background and envelope cuts with this sheet from Plaid Tidings. Next up, I knew I didn't want to die cut the apples, and this little pair on a branch looked like the least amount of coloring. And how about that, there's already white Stylish Circle in the die sleeve - perfect! Once I started the timer, the only die cut I needed to do was the sentiment, which also used Stylish Shapes. I got the "banner" look by cutting off the left side flag with the long edge of the same die - came out cool! I stopped the clock just past 9 minutes! Wow! I can't wait to see YOUR speedy creations - get ready to slay us with apples! Apple Harvest Stamp Set (retired 2024); Plaid Tidings DSP (retired); Basic White & Real Red CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Pecan Pie, Granny Apple Green, Real Red, Lemon Lolly & Petal Pink Blends Markers; Stylish Shapes Dies; Neutral Matte Dots; #AYSI361. Such a cute combo at this round of In{k}spire Me #574 - but those colors look tough! Well, I couldn't manage the colors this time, but the sketch inspired me to finally bust in to my 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar! What a cool little suite collection! The stamps gave me the perfect images and sentiment for the sketch, and there was some awesome DSP in one of the doors, as well as TWO sets of dies! I also used these gold glitter gems I found in another door - a match made in heaven, but still so many other products to break in! I can't wait, lol. 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar Suite Collection; plus, Basic White, Secret Sea, Old Olive & Basic Beige CS; Secret Sea, Flirty Flamingo, Misty Moonlight & Crushed Curry Inks; Eyelet 3D EF; #IMC574. |
