Uh oh, The Male Room #148 is really testing us this month with their "not a card" challenge! So, here's a little side of my classes you don't get to see here too often, lol. For every regular class, I like to make a little "pillow gift," usually some kind of candy treat, and this month's class is pretty close to St. Patrick's Day, soooo, Leprechaun Hat Treats! Lol. I think they're perfect for this challenge, too! I did a green DSP insert into clear tiny treat boxes with Forever Greenery, then added a hat band in black with a little buckle in Crushed Curry. I finished with a tiny shamrock using the old Itty Bitty Accents punch, and a Bumblebee Enamel Dot in the middle. I filled them with green-wrapped peppermint patties, and hubby has already made off with his, lol... Clear Tiny Treat Boxes; Forever Greenery DSP; Garden Green, Basic Black & Crushed Curry CS; 7/8" Square & Itty Bitty Flower Punches; Bumblebee Enamel Dots; #TMR148.

It's Paper Pumpkin to my rescue once again this week at MPC1215 - Season of Giving! I suddenly realized it'd be real nice to have a quick chocolate treat for our neighbor's grandson, who graciously agreed to help us out - he came over and let out all our dogs for a potty break and a snuggle so we could stay out late at a fun Christmas party! That SO deserves a reward, and I of course happen to have an excess of Christmas kisses on hand just now, lol. A quick pleated treat bag converted from our lovely Sketched Dots Treat Bag, and a cute tag to clip on from the awesome Mistletoe & Holly Paper Pumpkin, and we're all set! Hugs and doggy kisses all 'round! See you at the challenge! Mistletoe & Holly Paper Pumpkin; plus, Sketched Dots Tag A Bag; Scallop Tag Topper & PL Corner Rounder Punches; Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon; Snowflake Elements; Tiny Clothespin; Hershey's Kisses! I can not BELIEVE this whole Pumpkin month has flown by so fast! Where did it go?? Sigh, time for our last installment of My Pumpkin Challenge #0515 - Let's Hear It For the Bows! For today's project, I decided to whip up a quick little gift box for the goodie I brought back for my neighbor kid - who fed the dogs and let them out when we were gone for that 13 inning game between the Diamondbacks and the Cubs last Friday! What a game! I yawned all the way through the last inning, I think - WAY past my bedtime! Anyway, I think he's young enough to not mind the bow, but old enough to like "Dude" stamped all over, lol... Paper Pumpkin - Love You A Lot; plus, Versamark Ink; Tiny Treat Box; Note Tag Punch. Pumpkin Club May 30! Did you get your May Pumpkin kit yet? Up, up and away!! Check out the video here! Remember to subscribe here if you haven't already - sign up by June 10 and you can join us in time for next month! Yes! Time for a new Pumpkin challenge! This month we're all about the pretty little package, lol, at My Pumpkin Challenge #1114 - Give It Pretty! So, I have to admit, I'm pretty intrigued by the possibilities of these cute "pie-shaped" boxes that came in this month's Paper Pumpkin. How could I not love a kit called "Sweet As Pie?" I think the colors are a bit intimidating - there's almost TOO MUCH choice, lol, not something I'd ever have thought I'd say! So I decided to take a bright alternative, and go all Strawberry Slush, all the time! I think it really brightens things up, and the cute box is the perfect size for a snack and a gift card for one of our teachers! Hint: The Stretch Ruffle Trim is prefect for tying closed the box without using anything I have to rip through to get into it - yay! Paper Pumpkin - Sweet As Pie; plus, Paper Pumpkin Framed Love; Whisper White & Strawberry Slush CS; Strawberry Slush Ink; Deco Labels Framelits; Essentials Piercing Template; Stretch Ruffle Trim in Strawberry Slush; Heavy Baker's Twine in Strawberry Slush; Boutique Detail Embellishment in Strawberry Slush. I'm so excited to invite everyone to this year's 24th Annual Holiday & Gift Show at Mountainview Presbyterian! This year's show is scheduled for November 21, from 9 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday November 22 from 9 AM to 3 PM. Make sure to come early and get your cinnamon roll orders in! I've also heard they have several exciting new vendors - I can't wait to see! You can click here or on the picture to get your own flyer - see you there! Time for another yummy with My Pumpkin Challenge #1014 - Sweets & Treats! So, Halloween is a pretty big deal in our house - we're that neighbor you live in dread of, with crazy decor and motion-activated spooky noises and jumping spiders, crawling hands...you get the idea! And wait'll you see our latest addition, an 8 foot black and white stripey spider with a light-up butt! He's hanging over our front door - my goal is to get to keep ALL the candy this year because the kids will be too scared to come to the house, lol... Anyway, we also started with our after-school spooky treats this week (gummy eyeballs, anyone?) and I decided a little grave-yard humor (yuk-yuk) was in order! I thought the pretty curvy tag could look just like a headstone when upright like this, and swooshing bats are are just the right finishing touch! Hint: make your bat trajectory by slicing off a 1/4" strip from one of your window sheets, bend one end under your box lid (I used the new Tiny Treat Boxes) give it a twist, and afix the other end under the other side. Adding the twist lets the bats show from the front and flutter all over! Paper Pumpkin Boo-tiful Bags; plus Tiny Treat Box; Seriously Amazing dot stamp; Basic Black, & Blackberry Bliss Inks; Googly Eyes; Blackberry Bliss Marker; Window Sheet Scrap. So what do you think of this cute New Year's treat from last night's Flip Calendar Class? I totally CASE'd it from Laura Zaraza's Laura Z Stamps and my most favorite thing is how it uses our new Scalloped Tag Punch! Woo-hoo! I made up my measurements to hold one Hershey Nugget, but you could make it longer and stack two or more on top of each other. I cut a 2" x 4" strip from the Silver Foil sheets, and scored on the long edge at 1 1/2" and 2 1/2". Then I punched both ends with the Scallop Tag Punch, and tied closed with Silver Ribbon! Too easy! Here are the Flip Calendar Instructions from class as well! I know everyone has been seeing the adorable little coffee cups out on the blogs - I couldn't help but love them! They seemed like the perfect accessory for our Food Gifts class treats last night, too - just stuffed with Lindt chocolates! So fun! Here are the Food Gift class instructions - two-pager this time, 7 projects and lots of helpful hints, lol! Also, here's a recipe sheet for tonight's Christmas Toffee Biscuits, adapted from my awesome upline Julie U! I had to make it my own, but I'll never forget the day I first had this toffee at her house - total bliss! 4 oz Hot Cups w/lids, Webstaurant.com; Season of Style DSP; 5/8" Early Espresso Satin Ribbon; Frosted Finishes embellishments; 1/8" Silver Ribbon. Hope you'll come visit me - I'll be setting up a "Handmade by Heather" booth at Mountainview Presbyterian's 23rd Annual Holiday Gift & Mission Marketplace - can't wait to see you there! Hope I'm right in front of the cinnamon rolls again, lol! Come for the food, come for the fun, come for the fabulous shopping - they bring it all in one place, with style and love! This year's Boutique is Friday, Nov 22, 9 am to 5 pm, and Saturday, Nov 23, 9 am to 3 pm. Come get your cinnamon rolls for Thanksgiving! (Click on the picture for a printable flyer!) Spreading cheer never looked so good! Well, I don't know about you guys, but we're growing MY church the old-fashioned way - having lots of babies! We recently welcomed a new curate, and his wife is due early November - time for a party! In true Episcopal fashion, we like to do it up "right," so I of COURSE volunteered to do favors again - yay! Ever since Max & Ellie, I've had another baby shower favor idea burning a hole in my brain, and this was my chance! How cute is it to turn one of our classic "nugget jar" favors into a baby bottle?? After a week or so of trying to make a punch art nipple (I really tried to not say "nipple" on my blog, I swear), I ended up doing the top by doctoring up a baby bottle clip art I found, and then sizing it to fit our jars. For those wanting to try this themselves, here's a printable of those tops - 30 per sheet, ready to cut out! It worked out to 143 baby bottles - it was like a baby ward around here! Perfectly Preserved (retired) stamp set; Cannery Set framelits; Whisper White & Pretty in Pink (retired) CS; every scrap of retired DSP in any pink I have; Basic Black & Strawberry Slush inks; Oval, 7/8" Circle & 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punches; Pink Perle Cotton. In keeping with all things "flippin'," I had one last feature of the thinlet card sets that I didn't get to squeeze into the class - so I squeezed it onto a SUPER simple treat (we always have a bite of chocolate, right??) The Label Card thinlet set features two 3-D banner shapes, that come all scored and ready for adding just the right touch of extra dimension to your projects. In this case, I did a simple DSP and ribbon wrap on a Ghirardelli Square, and then added a popped-up banner on top, with a "thx" from the Circle Card thinlet set. I had to show it ALL for this class! The curvy banner is totally cool, too - perfect for holiday cards! Here are tonight's Flip Class Instructions as well! Label Card & Circle Card thinlets; Modern Medley DSP; Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon; Very Vanilla & Cherry Cobbler CS. OK, I'm not too proud to admit that this month's class treat was totally from a kit! While at Convention 2013, I was SO lucky to receive one of the Simply Created Real Red Goodie Gear kits - it was just too tempting to not save it to share with you all at our card class! The kit is amazing - 10 little treat bags, 10 little Crumb Cake tags (smaller than the Chalk Talk tag, fyi), 10 little Island Indigo Baker's Twine ties, beaucoup Real Red stripey tape, and 10 die cut little banners ready for stamping, along with the adorable Oh Goodie stamp set. 15 minutes and a bag of kisses later, we were all set! These kits are a screaming sweet deal! Here are tonight's Christmas in August class instructions as well! |
