 So peaceful - AAA Colorful #3 is back with a new color board for us - like a gorgeous sky! The pretty color board made me think of our new Under the Moon set, so I used that "water" stamp from that to make my background - I love how it came out! I chose Pool Party, Lemon Lolly and Petal Pink to carry it off then went hunting for a good sentiment to finish with. It's been so long since I stamped with the Courage & Faith set, I knew right away I wanted to ink this beauty up! I finished with a few Petal Pink gems, keeping it super simple! Fun!  Lol, we have such an awesome fill-in-the-blank challenge for you this round at As You See It #316! What was YOUR latest crafting purchase?? My latest stamp set is the Quiet Reflection set, which I got for an upcoming class. I sometimes find the DistINKtive style of stamps a little challenging to work with, but this one went more smoothly than for me! After a couple experiments, I opted for this "stamped off" version, as a little softer in my chosen colors, and then I layered everything up to the max using my Rectangle Stitched dies. It has always seemed like a lot of space to fill, is all, though of course one could adjust the dimension. I was determined to get through it today, though! I started with DSP, since I knew I'd be making a custom envelope. I chose a retired pack since I needed a BIG piece, lol. From there, I chose my longest and skinniest stamp, lol, which happened to be this quote of Psalm 84, from Our Daily Bread's Scripture Collection 6. Whew! From there I had some space to fill, so I constructed this sun and shield using dies - we need an awesome sun set, don't you think? Aw, this is a sweet one - The Flower Challenge #81 would like us to use our favorite flower! My favorite flower is the tulip, I think - they can come in so many colors! Hands down, the bright and flamboyant parrot tulip is my absolute fave, but I don't have any images of those, lol. So I settled on my favorite tulip stamp set still, 2018's Tranquil Tulips. I love the 3D quality this 2-step stamp set has, and I was thrilled to try it in our new Bubble Bath pink, too - lovely! I added all the trimmings of stems, leaves and a few muscari in Fresh Freesia - my grandma always grew these together! This lovely Numbers quote from Courage & Faith was the perfect sentiment to go with, and I finished with some Brass Butterflies. Love how fresh it all looks! I'm loving AAA Birthday #50's June challenge - I love water color so much! I went a little unusual route this round - it's not too obvious that this one is a birthday card, but I DID put a birthday sentiment inside, I swear, lol. I made this fairly simple card for an elderly friend, who loves scripture, lol. We actually were just talking over Psalm 27, and its good guidance, so this seemed perfect! Birthdays are not for the faint of heart, lol. I first did a color wash on watercolor paper in Berry Burst, and deliberately stamped on an edge where I could see some brush strokes, which might not rock everyone's boat, I know. I then stamped the surrounding fronds directly on the card base, and very carefully water-painted them, finishing with our new Tinsel Gems. I know she's going to love this! Very nice - this month's If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #180 is for BLUE! This is great color challenge for me, because we have LOTS of new blues to play with now with our color refresh! I'm also super excited to ink up the new Courage & Faith set - SO thrilled to have this one! I love scripture sets, and we don't make many! This one is just beautiful, with extra stamp details to add as well! I couldn't resist fussy cutting these two wines to add around my pretty Proverbs 3:5 sentiment - lovely! I then added a sentiment from the current Hope & Prayer, stamped on a Tasteful Label. I wrapped up with some copper sequins. Love this quite card!  OK, this is a gimme for me, lol, The Sisterhood of Crafters would like us to add layers this week! No problemo! I decided on some simple layers, highlighting our still-gorgeous Sun Prints DSP. I'm also continuing my love-affair with our new Deckled Rectangle Dies, too, my new go-to dies, it seems. One of my favorite things to do on larger dies is make "custom" sizes with them, running through a second time to take off a "bite," as I did today to make my sentiment layer.
