Yay! Shopping Our Stash #558 is called "hey, ghoulfriend!" and it's for Halloween! I pulled out all kinds of retired goodies for this one, lol - so fun! I decided to go with Cookie-Cutter Halloween from 2016 for my main image, but then with no sentiment, I pulled out my old Merry Everything set from 2014! This fanged Pumpkin Pie tag seemed perfect with my little vampire, lol. I floated everything over a Halloween plaid from Plaid Tidings - this DSP pack is lasting me forever, and saving my bacon so many ways! I even pieced little Dracul's vest from this, very snazzy and colored in some details with a Pumpkin Pie Blend Marker. I wound on some Black Baker's Twine, and threw on some Monster Bash Enamel Shapes just for good measure! Cookie-Cutter Halloween (retired 2016) & Merry Everything (retired 2014) Stamp Sets; Plaid Tidings (retired); Basic White, Basic Black & Pumpkin Pie CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Pumpkin Pie Blend Marker; Cookie Cutter & Note Tag Punches (both retired); Black Baker's Twine; Monster Bash Enamel Shapes; #SOS558. Eek! Check out our spooky fun colors this round at As You See It #357! I was so glad for a chance to ink up my one Halloween set this year, lol, Fright Night! These colors just seemed to lean that way, lol, AND I got to pull in some of the pretty new DSP sheets, too! I pulled the lovely speckled sheets for Timid Tiger, Secret Sea and Cloud Cover (such a brilliant combo!) and added a bright splash of Pumpkin Pie with the little banner! Stamping the Secret Sea directly on the Timid Tiger DSP was so easy, and came out perfectly! A few more Secret Sea details finish things off! I think Secret Sea might be the new Black for me, lol. I can't wait to see YOUR takes on our scary colors - meet you at the challenge! Fright Night Stamp Set & Dies; Cloud Cover, Secret Sea & Timid Tiger DSP; Basic White, Secret Sea & Pumpkin Pie CS; Secret Sea Ink; Secret Sea Faux Linen Ribbon; Secret Sea Flat Pearls; #AYSI357. Our latest speed challenge at As You See It #355 is LEAVES! This was a tough one - I spotted one of my all-time favorite leaf sets while doing some straitening - Falling For Leaves from 2018. This one is so fun to color! But no time for that in a speed challenge - how about heat embossing OVER colors, if I get everything laid out and ready to go?? I'm game! I set out everything - 3 pieces of colored CS for the leaves, the background for the sentiment, the envelope for some decor. Opened the Versamark and the Early Espresso, then the bin of Gold EP and set the heat gun by it. Laid out the gold sequins and the pop dots. Leaf die waiting on the cutting machine. Fingers crossed, I started the clock! It all went off without a hitch, except for a brief pause to plug the heat gun back in after the puppy woke up and yanked it out of the wall - that totally doesn't count! I almost choked when I realized I would have to trim off some excess leaves, and also shorten the Cajun stem (argh!) But it all worked out - 8 minutes, 39 seconds! Yes! I can't wait to see YOUR speedy creations - meet you at the challenge! Falling For Leaves Stamp Set (retired 2018); Basic White, Basic Beige, Blackberry Bliss, Cajun Craze & Crushed Curry CS; Early Espresso & Versamark Inks; Gold EP; Gold Sequins; #AYSI355. So yummy - for July, If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #206 is seashells at the beach! A great set for all kinds of fun beach details is still last year's Beach Day stamp set - love all the little extras I can play with! First I set up a beachy backdrop with some Pool Party and layered torn edges of Crumb Cake. I did a little row of stamped off shells across one, but they're a little hard to see, lol. Next up, I needed to decide what was in my beach haul this trip! Beach chair, check, Umbrella, check. Sand Castle? Yes! Surf boards? Yeah! Then I tucked in a couple palm trees and called it good, lol. The "sunshine" sentiment was a perfect fit in the space left over! I can hear the waves, can you? Beach Day Stamp Set & Dies (retired 2025); Basic White, Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Lemon Lime Twist & Granny Apple Green CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Crumb Cake Inks; Real Red, Timid Tiger, Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy & Crumb Cake Blends Markers; #Cookie206. So excited to see a fun folds challenge at this round of The Male Room #199! I decided today to try out an idea I had for one of Online Exclusive preview sets: Long Time No See! The set has a little dachshund, AND a llama, along with a striped insert to use as an even longer neck or dog body, lol. How could I resist?? I tried out the dog first, and made this funky double-z fold! I had to get a little creative on the second "Z" so I could make the dog line up pretty good even when flat, lol. What a riot! Can't wait to try the llama! Long Time No See Stamp Set; Full of Life DSP; Basic White & Blueberry Bushel CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Blueberry Bushel Inks; Pecan Pie, Blueberry Bushel, Granny Apple Green & Daffodil Delight Blends Markers; Blueberry Bushel Tinsel Gems; #TMR199. Paper Pumpkin Club on June 28 CANCELLED! It turns out that the weekend we would normally have Pumpkin Club is the same weekend we're headed back to Kanosh Labs to pick up our second puppy, River! We're all super excited, especially Ada, lol. We'll meet again for NEXT month's Pumpkin Club, Sweeter With You, while we get River settled in to our family! In the meantime, make sure to check out the video for the current kit, Full of Charm! Such a great sketch this round at Try a Sketch on Tuesday #670! I can't wait! After a little thought, I realized I could fit in our pre-order set for our Creativity Now event next month! We were offered the upcoming Peaceful Garden suite to go along with the event, and it will be released to all in the Holiday Mini this year. It's gorgeous, all soft blues and neutrals, with a mix of sentiments, and lovely dies, too. There's DSP, ribbon, embellishments and a coordinating embossing folder as well - and I almost forgot the glimmer paper mix! A lot to keep track of, lol. Anyway, I loved this floral sheet, and picked out the torn edge with the delicate wines and leaves in the dies. Instead of the ribbon, I went with some Night of Navy Linen Thread, and I finished with some Hues of Blue Flowers, but the white ones, lol. I think it all looks gorgeous over the Basic Beige, too! Peace on Earth Stamp Set & Dies; Peaceful Garden DSP; Basic White, Basic Beige & Night of Navy CS; Night of Navy Ink; Tasteful Labels Dies (retired); Night of Navy Linen Thread; White Hues of Blue Flowers; #TSOT670. Oo, we have a doozy for you at this round of As You See It #346! What retired crafting tool would you NEVER let go of?? For me, that tool is the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig! I even have multiple ones, in case anything happens to one, lol. I just love this little sucker! Once I got the knack of how to hold everything, it's the fastest way I know to quickly stamp something in a specific place, or on a little scrap, or whatever, and it works especially awesome on wood-mounted stamps, or red rubber! They can't all be photopolymer, lol. To show it off, I did today's tiled bunny layout using my SAMJ and 2010's Chocolate Bunny stamp - a single wood-mount that I can never let go, lol. Now, don't get me wrong, my Stamp-a-ratus and marker spritzer are firmly clutched in my OTHER hand, but I reach for my SAMJ all the time! I can't wait to see YOUR answers to this thorny question, lol - meet you at the challenge! Chocolate Bunny (retired 2010) & Hello Spring Paper Pumpkin Stamps; Basic White, Early Espresso & Basic Beige CS; Early Espresso, Pecan Pie & Crumb Cake Inks; 1 1/2" Circle Punch; Open Weave Ribbon in Fresh Freesia; Speckled Dots; #AYSI346. Shopping Our Stash #541 is called "thrice as nice," and they want us to use at least THREE different DSPs on our card! Yikes! At first I was all in a tizzy - is that even possible?? Then I remembered the cute Fruit Salad card I did with the Everyday Arches Dies - now THERE'S a way to show off some DSP! How about a crisp and cheery version for Christmas?? I dug out my old Let It Snow Specialty DSP pack to choose some perfect patterns - love these sheets with the glitter detail on them! Then I stamped a nice big Christmas sentiment from Peaceful Season for the center seam - perfect! A few Glitter Sequins is just the right finishing touch! And if you count the envelope, I got SEVEN patterns on there! Woo! Peaceful Season Stamp Set; Let It Snow DSP (retired); Basic White, Shaded Spruce & Coastal Cabana CS; Versamark Ink; White EP; Everyday Arches Dies; Glitter Sequins; #SOS541. Very fun - Inspire Create Challenge #184 is back with a fancy fold challenge! A fun fold always gives such a good chance to show off some fun DSP in new ways - even the simplest of them let you play with shapes and layers! I pulled out a simple z-fold card today, and decided to go with the bright happy colors in Friends of the Ocean DSP pack! I hadn't stamped the lobster yet, so he got to come out to play as well! I went right for one of the color combos suggested in the catty - Summer Sky and Pool Party - looks so good! I really haven't been using Summer Sky as much as I thought I would - so nice to have some paper inspiration for it finally! Ocean Friends Stamp Set; Friends of the Ocean DSP; Basic White, Summer Sky & Berry Burst CS; Summer Sky, Pool Party & Berry Burst Inks; Ocean Friends Dies; Sunny Day Iridescent Dots; #ICC184. So fun - the latest Cupcake Inspirations #608 would like us to add a bow or ribbon! I couldn't resist dipping back into my ephemera stash for this one - I have so much left even after classes and tags! I have this one big sentiment that I've been dying to use - just makes me think of winter wonderland scenes, and blessed nights! So, I naturally paired it with my retired-but-still-adored O Holy Night DSP - so many great things to do with all the starry sheets! I added a tiny 1/8" Silver Ribbon for my bow, and finished with a few Silver Glitter Sequins. Simple and glorious! Joyful Sayings Ephemera; O Holy Night DSP (retired); Basic White & Copper Clay CS; 1/8" Silver Ribbon; Silver Glitter Sequins (retired); #CIC608. No Pumpkin Club in December!
