Yay! Time to tic-tac-toe again at Retro Rubber #269! You can totally tell this one carried forward from last year, lol. I wanted to see if I could NOT make a holiday card from it - and it was totally doable! I selected the left column: sequins - ribbon - die cut, and went hunting! 2023's Nature's Harvest jumped right out at me - those stem silhouette dies are so stunning! I figured I could do something in muted colors, and pull in some Early Espresso ribbon and sequins for a calming look, and it totally worked. I placed three stems over my favorite distressed white woodgrain sheet, and tied on the last little bit of my Faux Suede Trim in Early Espresso. I arranged my stems, and popped up this sweet sentiment over all. The brown sequins are perfect! I can't wait to see what catches YOUR eye at our tic-tac-toe - and don't forget to make it RETRO! Nature's Harvest Stamp Set (retired 2023); Country Woods DSP; Basic White, Early Espresso, Wild Wheat (retired), Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow & Basic Beige CS; Early Espresso Ink; Harvest Dies (retired); Faux Suede Trim in Early Espresso (retired); Brown Neutrals Sequins (retired); #RRCB269.

This will be good - The Male Room #207 has a clean and simple challenge this round! Not sure why my thinking goes this way, but I decided to do a color background for my CAS - Crumb Cake is a perfect guy color in this case! For a simple design element, I cut three leafy stems from the Friendly Foliage bundle - how cute do they look floating over the get well sentiment? As usual, I couldn't stop there and snuck on three tiny Low Profile Sparkle Dots at the end, too - I am a self-professed embellie addict, lol. Send help. Friendly Foliage Stamp Set & Dies; Basic White, Crumb Cake, Garden Green & Old Olive CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Garden Green Inks; Garden Green Low Profile Sparkle Dots; #TMR207. Wow, what a nifty collection of inspo pics from Hand Stamped Sentiments #480 - so much to choose from! I was most attracted to the lovely aspen grove of trees - though I brightened my colors up a bit, lol. It's just perfect for my new Aspen Grove stamp set - which features individual aspen trunks that I can repeat or rearrange as much as I want! Brilliant! I started by using blending brushes to create a little bit of horizon by blending in some Pool Party and Lemon Lime Twist. Then I used up LOTS of white scraps stamping and fussy cutting my tree trunks - such easy lines to cut, lol. I arranged them so the ends were hanging over a bit - I love this "live edge" look on cards! After some digging, this sentiment from the recently retired Comforting Thoughts seemed just right for this peaceful grove! It came out so pretty! Aspen Grove & Comforting Thoughts (retired 2025) Stamp Sets; Basic White & Lemon Lime Twist CS; Pool Party, Lemon Lime Twist & Early Espresso Inks; Delightful Wishes Dies; Lemon Lime Twist Tinsel Gems; #HSS480. Such a sweet sketch again from Try a Sketch On Tuesday #685! Such a fun layout, and it looked like a great one for the upcoming Friendly Foliage! I paired it with our Perfectly Plaid DSP, and this time featured one of the back sides for my background, with just a pop of traditional plaid in my upper square. I love how these colors coordinate! I added my pretty stems for the lower square, and tacked on the sentiment below that. I then added three of the pink Swirl Dots, as I thought they looked cute with the plaid colors. I really like how this came out! Friendly Foliage Stamp Set & Dies; Perfectly Plaid DSP; Basic White, Mossy Meadow & Calypso Coral CS; Mossy Meadow Ink; Swirl Dots; #TSOT685. OK, these are adorable "get well" cupcakes at this round of Cupcake Inspiration #630! I was really attracted to the "under the weather" tagline here, lol, I have SUCH a cold right now! So it feels appropriate to stamp a card for me, lol. I turned to my 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar collection for this one - the sentiment was just right! I really love this daisy DSP, and floated it over some Misty Moonlight, I added a few butterflies in Crushed Curry as well, to go around this postage die-cut shape for my sentiment. I wrapped some of the Misty Moonlight Baker's Twine around my tag end to fill some of the white space. I think this is so pretty altogether! So fun to play with this versatile collection! 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar Stamp Set & Suite Collection; Basic White & Misty Moonlight CS; Misty Moonlight & Crushed Curry Inks; #CIC630. Check out our fun winged sketch at this round of Sunday Stamps #371! This seemed like such a clean and simple design to me, that I decided to follow suit! I'm all stamped on one layer, but I wasn't feeling the butterflies, lol. I went with a trio of the smaller daisy from the now-retired Cheerful Daisies stamp set. Since I was already over there, I also grabbed last year's Sweetly Scripted to go over them, too! I stamped the daisies in Smoky Slate, then added Darling Duckling centers. The sentiment went on next in black. I then finished with my last three (of THIS pack, lol) Darling Duckling Flat Pearls. Quick and warm! I can't wait to see what YOU create with our CAS sketch - meet you at the challenge! Cheerful Daisies (retired 2025) & Sweetly Scripted (retired 2024) Stamp Sets; Basic White & Basic Black CS; Smoky Slate, Darling Duckling & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Darling Duckling Flat Pearls; #SSC371. Oh wow, check these glorious nature-inspired eggs at SU Only #373's inspiration pic! Love them! I decided to pull out 2013's Take Care set for this one - I have always loved the nest and eggs in it, and the sentiments are so sweet! I looked through my Timeless Plaid DSP pack in the browns range to go with this beautiful inspo pic - this soft Pecan Pie, Calypso Coral and Old Olive sheet was just the right combo! There are no dies for this pretty set, but I have always fussy cut all the pieces - it just adds so much drama! I did a Pecan Pie branch and Crumb Cake nest, then a set of Pecan Pie eggs - yum! The Small Oval punch made my gentle sentiment a snap, too. A few Swirl Dots are just right for these earthy tones! Take Care Stamp Set (retired 2013);Timeless Plaid; Basic White & Pecan Pie CS; Pecan Pie & Crumb Cake Inks; Old Olive Stamp-n-Write Marker; Small Oval Punch; Swirl Dots in Calypso Coral; #SUOC373. So cool - an "anything goes" challenge at AAA Cards #273 is not to be missed - I think I'll sneak in the optional twist of sympathy or get well, too! I decided I wanted to do Get Well rather than Sympathy, so I concentrated on fining a sentiment for that first. I FINALLY remembered this good one in last year's Inspired Thoughts! However, the Inspiring Canopy dies that go with it might have been not very CAS, lol, so I looked around for what could go with it. I finally realized I have a bunch of these pretty bouquets cut from our To Market DSP, which is totally what I would send to someone for a Get Well! It came together fast after that - simple layers, simple sentiment, a single bouquet, and three little Garden Green Dots accents, as usual, lol. Love it! Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set (retired 2023); To Market DSP; Basic White & Garden Green CS; Garden Green Ink; Garden Green Transparent Dots; #AAA273. Christmas Cards Part 2 September 14! Time to finish up our Christmas cards ideas with part 2! So much to choose from! This class will feature 6 cards with envelopes, and include all supplies needed (bring your own favorite snips and adhesive!) RSVP today to save your spot! Oh, this is a good one! The Male Room #179 want to see a "get well soon" card! I did a quick check for get well sentiments in my current sets, and to my delight, there's one in Warmest Heart! I am still smitten with these cute thermoses, and I decided to branch out into more of the cool dies that come with them this time, too - my featured thermos is ALL dies - check out that carry loop! So cute, lol. Anyway, I started with a Pretty Peacock base, and did up a trio of manly thermoses, complete with screw off sipping cup, in fun coordinating colors. I added my get well tag above it all, and at the last second stuck on some tiny white Resin Hearts. Picture these all filled with chicken noodle soup! Warmest Heart Stamp Set; Pretty Peacock DSP; Basic White, Pretty Peacock, Galvanized Metal, Smoky Slate, Granny Apple Green & Crumb Cake CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Smoky Slate & Granny Apple Green Inks; Blender Pen; Daffodil Delight & Pool Party Blends Markers; Warmest Hearts Dies; White Resin Hearts (retired); #TMR179. Eee! Love the theme at this round's AAA Cards #244 - dogs and puppies! One of my all-time favorite dog sets is our awesome Hot Dog that retired in 2021 - so many fun accessories and sentiments! Anyway, I kept it all super clean and simple for AAA, but worked in some pops of color - for some reason I'm all about Tahitian Tide these days, lol. Anyway, this poor little guy has to wear his cone, but is still wagging his tail - isn't that just like a good dog?? Hot Dog Stamp Set (retired 2021); Basic White & Tahitian Tide CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake, Tahitian Tide & Basic Black Blends Markers; Tahitian Tide Matte Decorative Dots; #AAA244. |
