![]() These are fun flirty colors at this week's Create With Connie & Mary #438! One of the card types that get asked for a lot, that I also NEVER seem to have on hand, lol, are anniversary cards. As I got to looking at this color challenge, I started thinking, hm, boy-girl something, maybe, but silver might not fit, but hey, what about anniversary?? Sunshine Sayings was pretty made just for my stream of consciousness style of brainstorming, lol... I kept it super simple, with just a touch of glimmer. Love... Sunshine Sayings Stamp Set; Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo & Pool Party CS; Silver Glimmer Paper; Smoky Slate, Flirty Flamingo & Pool Party Inks; Sunshine Wishes Thinlits; #CCMC438.

![]() I'm really happy with the clean lines in this week's Can You Case It #63 - so many different ways to go with this sketch! So, let's make a man card, shall we? It's a snap with Guy Greetings standing by, lol. I figure this will go over well as an anniversary card - ours is coming right up! I had to get creative with the placement of some of the elements, but darn it, I was determined to use the strong guy on this one - I haven't used it yet! It's a tiny bit ironic that I made this Mossy Meadow colored card for DH, since he's red-green color-blind. Oh well! Guy Greetings Stamp Set; Mossy Meadow, Sahara Sand & Whisper White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Mossy Meadow, Basic Gray, Early Espresso & Crushed Curry Ink; Flesh Tone Blendies (discontinued, sob); Neutrals Buttons in Early Espresso; Striped Satin Ribbon in Mossy Meadow; Early Espresso Baker's Twine. ![]() Mother's Day Corsage Class I am so excited to announce this class - and I'm THRILLED with how our project came out! You will be, too! This month we will be making a beautiful corsage for that special lady in your life: Mom, BFF, inspiration in your life (maybe even yourself - you deserve it!) - to wear again and again. The corsage is made up with a sample of each flower type in the gorgeous Build A Bouquet Project kit from our Occasions Mini catalog, and comes with a hat pin and stopper for fixing in place. I have prepped each kit for us, and divvied everything out ahead of time to make this class ride on rails: I'll be working right along with you to help further explain all the tricks I learned along the way! Class is announced for Thursday April 9, 630 pm, chez Heroldt, or Saturday, April 11, 3 pm, also chez Heroldt. Class is $20, and includes all supplies and instructions, plus snacks, drinks and a gift! Just bring your usual kit, and a hot glue gun! RSVP now so I can make sure to have your supplies prepped and ready for you! (And be sure to let me know if you need different dates - I'm always happy to work with your schedule!) ![]() Oo, lots of angles in this week's Freshly Made Sketch #130, hmm... It suddenly occurred to me that with my anniversary coming this week, maybe I should get crackin' on a card for hubby! Yikes! Good thing I'm a card-maker, lol... So, I've been thinking for a while about how this sentiment from Yippee-Skippee would make a good anniversary card, now's the time to test that! Add lots of color (just like our marriage!) and Houston, we have lift-off! On to the lobster! Yum! Yippee Skippee!, Hearts A Flutter & Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Sets; Watercolor Wonder DSP; Whisper White & Daffodil Delight CS; Gumball Green, Tangerine Tango, Island Indigo & Daffodil Delight Inks; Hearts A Flutter Framelits; Regals Button in Island Indigo; Tangerine Perle Cotton. ![]() You know, sometimes I wonder how my family feels about our life events being immortalized on my little card blog - I don't wonder for too long, just sometimes! That said, Freshly Made Sketches #80 was the perfect vehicle for pulling together an idea that's been stewing around in my head for a while about what I would do for my 13th wedding anniversary, giggle. You guys missed our James Bond themed #7, that even included the book License To Grill, but it was a good one! This year, I heard that we might stop and shoot some pool after our celebration dinner, so that was pretty much that! I used a bunch of retired items to pull this one off, BUT, I did try out the talking tag inside - so easy! Love you, babe! Luckiest 13 ever! Defining Alphabet & Define Your Life (retired) stamp sets; Whisper White Tangerine Tango & Basic Black CS & inks; Summer Smooches DSP (on the envelope); Timeless Type Junior Alphabet (retired) sizzlets; Circle #1 die; 1 1/2" Circle, Owl Builder & Decorative Label punches; Large Dots texture plate (retired); 1/4" satin ribbon in Tangerine Tango; self-adhesive rhinestones; Talking Tag (inside.) ![]() Can you imagine being married for 50 years??? I have to say - there are definitely days that I can't {wink wink}, but I can always dream of it! These favors were commissioned by a friend of mine for their parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary - wowee! I'm in awe! I made 32 of these in a mix of fall colors, using papers provided by them to coordinate with the table decor at a snazzy family banquet planned for the celebration - so nice to be part of it! The saying is a Polish one (as is the family) - meant to convey good wishes, good luck and long life, perfect for a 50th Anniversary! There's a traditional song for it that you can hear here, as I understand it, you can't make the toast without someone breaking into the song! Congratulations! (And Sto Lat!) Rogue papers; Champagne Glimmer Paper; A Slice of Life (retired) stamp set; Bitty Banners framelits; 1 3/4 Scallop Circle punch; Timeless Type Junior sizzlets. ![]() So when our 2012 Catalog & Idea book came out, one of the first "suites" that caught my eye was the Lovely Little Labels stamp set, with the accompanying punch pack. Why, oh why, am I so addicted to all the fussy little pieces to color and play with? I see many tiny banners in my future with this one! Imagine my excitement, then, when I saw Merry Minis in the Holiday catalog! (Yes, I had to have those, too...) I felt like I really needed to start cranking those tiny guys up, so I decided to break in Lovely Little Labels by CASE-ing The Merry Minis card from the holiday catalog, snicker! The little punches made everything a snap! Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Soft Suede & Cajun Craze Craze CS & inks; Neutrals DSP pack; Lovely Little Labels & Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets; Square Lattice Embossing folder; Decorative Label & Little Labels punches; Linen Thread ![]() Can't believe another anniversary has rolled around for me and hubby - time sure flies! I CAS-ed this "love" card from Oopsa-Daisy-Designs, and liked it so much, I decided to do a "hell-o" version for my Duet friend! I love having someone to send cards to every week! Anyway, love love LOVE this Love Letters DSP, it's amazingly versatile - I think the Very Vanilla, Basic Black and Riding Hood Red are so dramatic... AND, I used my Billboard Strip for the Big Shot that came with the starter set for that for like the second time EVER! Maybe I'll try some other alphabets eventually! I might still change out the h-e-l-l letters on the second card for stamped Broadsheet letters that I cut out. Can't decide... |
