So, a real irony around here for me is that with all the shadow boxes my ladies and I do throughout the year, I tend to not have a Christmas one. I have SO much Christmas decor already - and my hall table moves out for the tree every year, so my usual suite doesn't have a Christmas incarnation, lol. I decided to get back on that wagon this year with My Pumpkin Challenge #1213 - Celebrate the Holidays! Maybe I can stash it in the downstairs powder room, giggle!

7-Layer Noel Tag!

Oh goodie - time for another Holiday Pumpkin at My Pumpkin Challenge! For this one, I decided to whip up a snazzy tag for a bottle of bubbly - an always welcome party gift when one is making the rounds!
I started by cutting down the pennant shape of the pre-printed Noel sentiment, and then just decided to see how many layers I could build up that coordinated! Turns out, quite a few! If you count my sparkly red star on top (and I DO, of course!) I can fit on SEVEN layers! The sweet little punched star garland makes for a perfect hanging sash, ready for any kind of bottled goodness to share!

Pumpkin Button Bracelet

OK, I thought I dug pretty deep last week for My Pumpkin Challenge #1113 - Gifts. Good thing I left the shovel handy! This week, I finally played with one of my first ideas when I saw the Memo Medley Pumpkin Kit - making that weird orange band into a bracelet!
My original idea was to try to stamp it with Staz-On, and add some bling somehow, that I could also make some stretch with. So, that was not a successful experiment, let's just say. I'm sure all the Staz-On under my nails will come out eventually, lol! Next up, some kind of ribbon wrap, with buttons and embellies - success! I used a black gingham ribbon I found, to help set off the metal accents of the Ribbon Slides, and stuck mainly to the Regals Button collection for my color choices - I like it! I went back around a second time to go criss-cross through the slides only, for added stability in taking the bracelet on and off. It's actually quite comfie - though my daughter just ran off with it, so I guess I won't be seeing much of it!

Mini Cup Treats!

I know everyone has been seeing the adorable little coffee cups out on the blogs - I couldn't help but love them! They seemed like the perfect accessory for our Food Gifts class treats last night, too - just stuffed with Lindt chocolates! So fun!

Pumpkin Spots! (And A Grand Holiday Sale!)

For this week's Pumpkin Gift at My Pumpkin Challenge #1113, I decided to give MYSELF a present, lol!
One of the MANY cool things about Paper Pumpkin is that it comes with everything you need to create the featured project. Now, I know I haven't done a "featured" project yet (ahem), but, well, I'm starting to accumulated some pumpkin stuff. Paper stuff and scraps go in their own baggy, stamps are going in some Pumpkin stamp cases I started, but so far, all the Stampin' Spots have been taking up real estate in one of my project baskets. And at Christmas-time, that is some primo real estate! I have NO project baskets to spare! Thus, my Spot Storage Box was born!
This gives me somewhere tidy to keep all these little suckers, til I can move them along to another home - I never open them since I have full-size version of all the colors anyway! Had a fun afternoon making my Pumpkin Mosaic for the storage box insert!
Want to make your own? Dimensions are 11 1/4" x 7", scored on the long edge at 5" and 6 1/4". Make a nice second life for those scraps (and put a contents list on the inside, hee hee!)

Pumpkin Notes

OK, I won't lie - this month's Paper Pumpkin kit - Memo Medley - is a stumper! I'm thrilled with our Pumpkin Challenge #1113 this month - Gifts! How cool is that?! What a perfect choice for this kit - and so timely with the "gifting" time of year so soon upon us, lol...
So this first one from me is one I've been plotting in my head ever since my kit arrived. I've been needing something for my teenage daughter's door, as a little clearinghouse for messages, reminders, bribes, etc - you get the idea! And thus, my little note-holder board is born! I LOVE the woodgrain extra-heavy tag board that came in this month's kit - it can really stand up to some use! I had to use my Big Bite to punch the holes for some of the old retired hardware I dug out for finishing touches, but still, fairly quick, simply put together with hot glue - and in use already! Yay!

Pumpkin Patch!

I wanted to share a quick picture of this simple little pumpkin patch I put together for favors for our "Welcome" banner class last night - so much fun! These are all made from the Round Tab punch (is this retired now?) with a little stem of grosgrain and a few leaves added. I did a range of colors for fun, too: Pumpkin Pie (of course!), Tangerine Tango and Cajun Craze.

Encore, Encore!

So, after the awesome and inspiring Stampin' Up! convention this summer, I came home inspired to try some new things, both with my "business," and my activities. As happens so often to me, an opportunity arose almost right away to put me to the challenge!
I was approached by Encore University ("Adventures in Lifelong Learning") about offering a couple short and easy classes for their students. After some discussion, we matched me up in a fun suite of classes, called "Let Us Entertain You," that featured 5 different classes that cover a range of entertainment topics, from invites and favors (those were my offerings!) to table settings, cooking and flower arranging.
I decided I was game for it, and worked hard to be able to offer the classes for no fee, by using all retired materials, though current stamp sets. If you're interested in the projects, they are pictured below, and here are the Simple Invites instructions, and the Simple Favors instructions. Three basic invites with coordinating favors, in two classes, 1 hour each! It was a blast! I think they enjoyed it, and I'll wait to hear their feedback - a fun way to find a happy home for retired stock!
