![]() Uh oh, The Male Room #148 is really testing us this month with their "not a card" challenge! So, here's a little side of my classes you don't get to see here too often, lol. For every regular class, I like to make a little "pillow gift," usually some kind of candy treat, and this month's class is pretty close to St. Patrick's Day, soooo, Leprechaun Hat Treats! Lol. I think they're perfect for this challenge, too! I did a green DSP insert into clear tiny treat boxes with Forever Greenery, then added a hat band in black with a little buckle in Crushed Curry. I finished with a tiny shamrock using the old Itty Bitty Accents punch, and a Bumblebee Enamel Dot in the middle. I filled them with green-wrapped peppermint patties, and hubby has already made off with his, lol... Clear Tiny Treat Boxes; Forever Greenery DSP; Garden Green, Basic Black & Crushed Curry CS; 7/8" Square & Itty Bitty Flower Punches; Bumblebee Enamel Dots; #TMR148.

![]() We have a lovely romantic sketch this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #492, and we'd like to see a 3-D item for SU Only #268. And just to round out my three-fer, I have these perfect bold colors from Retro Rubber #151 - black, white and red! This is a tall order! I started by deciding on a tag for my 3-D item - just in time for hubby's Valentine's present, too! I went on the prowl for something old and gooey (lol) on my shelves of retirement, and came across PS. I Love You from 2012 - still so sweet! This is the one that has the little chocolate-covered strawberry in it, too - remember that? Yum! Anyway, this "heart of hearts" was my fave image from that set, and I even still have the punch, natch. From there, all I needed to do was shrink down the sketch to fit on a tag - whew! I love how it came out, and can't wait to plant it on my sweetie! I can't wait to see YOUR projects this week, too - meet you at the challenges! PS. I Love You Stamp Set (retired 2012); Basic Black, Real Red & Whisper White CS; Real Red & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Full Heart & Scallop Edge Border Punches (both retired); Real Red Cotton Ribbon; Clothespin; Resin Heart Embellishments; #TSOT492; #SUOC268; #RRCB151. ![]() We have a lovely holiday inspiration pic from Paper Craft Crew #273, so pretty! I think this challenge will go perfectly with TGIF #139's "last-minute Santa" challenge, too! So, I never would have imagined how appropriate this challenge would be, but of course, I do manage to forget I live with a teenager for 5 or 10 whole minutes at a time once in a while, too, lol. Because of course, my daughter the grocery store cart-girl gets to work Christmas Eve, and about 15 minutes before her shift comes asking if I have a few little candy treats she can hand out. Sigh. How can I not rise to that challenge? I was able to combine our old Mini Muslin Bags with my last few Green Sprigs, stamped with a simple sentiment from Oh, What Fun, and stuff them with some mini candy canes. Always worth the girl-grin to drop everything for a couple minutes! It even kinda looks like the inspiration pic! Woo hoo! Oh, What Fun Stamp Set; Real Red & Old Olive Inks; Mini Muslin Bags (retired); Green Sprigs; Mini Candy Canes; #PCC273; #TGIF139. ![]() Pumpkin Club December 30! Window Shopping and the Window Box Thinlits have been sitting on my desk for almost THREE weeks now, waiting for their turn at the ink. Crazy pants! I very rarely let a set sit for so long, lol. "Anything BUT a card" was just the kick I needed, for sure! I'm not totally thrilled with my final project here, but I did sure have a good time playing with all my pieces and thinking about possibilities. For today, I went with a fairly generic Birthday box, in neutral (but party!) colors. I DO love the dots! Window Shopping Stamp Set; Cherry on Top DSP (retired); Bermuda Bay, Watermelon Wonder & Pool Party CS; Watermelon Wonder Ink; Watermelon Wonder Sequin Trim (I think from a past Paper Pumpkin, lol); Window Box Thinlits; Silver Enamel Shapes; #SIP88. ![]() Man Cards Class March 9 & 11! RSVP today to reserve your spot! ![]() I'm so excited to have another packaging challenge - this time at SU-per Challenge #70! One of the new suites in the Occasions 2015 catalog that has most fascinated me is the From The Garden bundle (page 20, for those catty-watchers among us!) On the opposite page from THAT is the totally AWESOME new Berry Basket Bigz die. Don't tell hubby, but I seriously mobbed the UPS driver when he pulled up with this package, lol - he didn't even have to get out of the truck, I was RIGHT THERE at the curb waiting for him! It wasn't creepy, I swear! The Handpicked framelit set that goes with this has so many more shapes than the stamp set, too - I'm a little hopeful that we might see additional gardening sets to go with, that would be so COOL! Yes, I still have high hopes for my gardens here, lol. I've even made it through two days in a row of frost - that what all those pool towels are really for, right?? ANYhow, I made up a quick trio of the baskets to have on hand for incidental gift-giving, with chummy flower-markers, too. (Hint: I did a backing in chipboard for those to make them a bit more substantial.) I envision adding a little token as I find them, and bagging the whole thing in a cello bag to keep it together. Hm, need a set of note cards to go with! Maybe tomorrow... From the Garden (Occasions 2015) Stamp Set; Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, Calypso Coral & Whisper White CS; Smoky Slate, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party & Calypso Coral Inks; Berry Basket Bigz Die; Handpicked Framelits; Best Day Ever Ribbon Collection (SAB 2015). ![]() Perpetual Birthday Calendar Kit Class! I'm so excited to announce our first class of the year - a super-fun version of the Perpetual Calendar Kit found on page 17 of your Occasions 2015 catalog! This calendar features a custom decorated and lined sheet for each month, where you can pencil in all your birthday ticklers! I've added some simple goodies and tricks to make these kits shine even more, and you'll have lots of leftovers from the kit as well! Keep it for yourself, or box it up for a gift! A fun way to warm up for the year ahead! So, class is announced for Thursday, January 15 at 6:30 pm, or Saturday, January 17 at 3:30 pm. $20 gets you all your supplies, including 1 complete kit, a special treat from me, and snacks and refreshments. RSVP now so I can make sure to have your kit waiting for you! ![]() This week's Just Add Ink #246-Giving is a bit different. But the timing is perfect, since my Dad's birthday was right after Christmas! This gives me a chance to brush up the "cute little present" skills, lol... Dad's presents all fit in our Extra Large Gift Box, so I decided to gussy that up! Easy enough to add some pretty DSP, the only hard part is deciding on a color scheme, lol. His fave color is orange, so I chose a set that has our Tangelo Twist in it, so I could coordinate the ribbon. A quick tag, that I spent some time coloring in, and we're good to go! Big Day (SAB 2015) Stamp Set; Whisper White CS; Birthday Bash Specialty DSP; Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Tangelo Twist, Crushed Curry & Night of Navy Inks; 3/8: Stitched Satin Ribbon in Tangelo Twist; Angled Tag Topper Punch; 1/8" Taffeta in Bermuda Bay. ![]() We're still getting chilly at My Pumpkin Challenge #1214 - Brr! It's Cold! Long-time readers may remember that I had some fun turning LAST year's Holiday Pumpkin into a Noel Shadow Box decoration for my hall table - anyone else still hording some of that star garland? So cute! So, last year there was also a demo contest for alternate Paper Pumpkin projects - I know, right? It's like they said, gee, let's make a contest JUST for Heather! After a tiny bit of dithering, I sent in several projects, including the Noel Shadow box. Sob. But hey, it won! I heard it was on display at convention - woo hoo! But, now I'm back to having no Christmas Shadow Box, and I have a new pumpkin to do it with, too, lol. I like the word "Noel," and I took the opportunity to combine it with the so appropriate sentiment in Gentle Peace. So here we are, chilly, but joyful, right? Hopefully there isn't another contest this year... So what are you doing with your chilly Pumpkin, hmm? Let's see it! Paper Pumpkin Simply Snowflake; plus Gentle Peace Stamp Set; Lost Lagoon, Whisper White & Soft Sky CS; Soft Sky Ink; Serif Essentials Alphabet Dies; Star Punch (for flagging the sentiment.) ![]() New Year's Wreath Class December 11 or 13! I can FINALLY post a picture of our BEAUTIFUL New Year's Rosette Wreath, featuring the yummy All Is Calm DSP pack. It took me a week to work out how to get that little banner hung - argh! We will now use every scrap of our DSP sheets, lol - yes! So class is announced for Thursday December 11, 6:30 pm, or Saturday December 13, 3:30 PM. All supplies included, $20. Treats and snacks will be on hand, for sure, still time for Christmas Cookies, right?? RSVP today so I can be sure to have your supplies ready for you! And of course, if either of the dates is no good for you, please do let me know and we will make it happen! Cheers! ![]() Ahhh, there's never enough Pretty To Give at this month's My Pumpkin Challenge #1114! I'll just throw out it there, though, this month's box has been a stumper - triangle boxes? Really? How many different ways can I juice that?? I have to say straight out, I did a blind internet search this week called "triangle boxes," lol... Some cute stuff does pop up - you should try it! One cute thing I found is this box over at Melissa Sagaser's Creative Treasures, from 2010! Woo! I gave it a few more modern details - all reindeer have eyelashes, right? I'm not usually one for punch art, but this little guy was too adorable not to try! Notes: to get the curve in the ears, snip about 1/2" in at the bottom end of the ovals, and overlap the snips a bit. I nested two different colors together for more depth. For the eyelids, I added that hint of curve by bending a bit with my thumbs, and using a dimensional under there. Paper Pumpkin Sweet As Pie; plus, Snowflake #2 Die (retired); Wide, Large & Small Ovals, and 1" Circle Punches; Early Espresso, Very Vanilla & Basic Black CS; White Gel Pen; Red Glimmer CS; Fringe Scissors; 5/8" Satin Ribbon in Early Espresso. Antlers and ear linings cut from pie box scraps. ![]() Pumpkin Club November 29! Did you get your November Pumpkin kit yet? BrrrRRRrrr!! You're going to LOVE it! Check out the video here! Let's play with our triangle box, ok? I started out by thinking about what other triangular elements I have around. Of course, this year's tree punch sprang immediately to mind! Then, since I couldn't pick which greens to use, I decided to just use them all, lol - see how I think?? I do that for dessert, too, btw... So I punched out a bunch of trees, then decided they needed a little something, so every color got its own emboss. Then I just started arranging and playing with dimensionals, too. I really like how it came out! I tied around some yummy ribbon, and added one lonely un-embossed tree for the tag - ta da! Maybe I'll go back and add some red dots, hmm... Paper Pumpkin Sweet As Pie & Wish Big; Tree Punch; Old Olive, Wild Wasabi, Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green & Mossy Meadow CS; Arrows, Lucky Stars, Snow Burst, Chevron & Decorative Dots Embossing Folders; Mossy Meadow Inks; Striped Satin Ribbon in Mossy Meadow Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine; Basic Jewel Rhinestone. ![]() Spread Your Cheer! (You know I say that with love in my heart, right?) We're still Giving It Pretty at this month's My Pumpkin Challenge #1114! And this week is all about how much my hubby loves me. I mean REALLY loves me! Earlier this week, he actually took me to a special dinner, at Lon's at the Hermosa Inn, for the kick-off of their Artist-In-Residence dinners with none other than Aarti Sequeira! EEEeeeEEE! That's right, my lovelies, I had dinner with Aarti Paarti on Sunday! It was like a dream, like Lon's isn't fab enough on its own, right? What a joy-filled, genuine and beautiful person she is! Her love for Christ just beams out of her, too. Yes, I totally got her brand new cookbook, too, Aarti Paarti: An American Cookbook With an Indian Soul, and she even signed it for us - woo hoo! I was totally star-struck, giggle. And I have next week's menus all planned out from the book already, too! Even breakfast! Totally making some of the dishes we had at Lon's - she makes it easy! So, I had to show hubby how much I appreciate him loving me so much - and got him an awesome golf day at The Boulders - symbolized by the golf ball I squeezed into this cute little box with the tee-time rez in the bottom. I love you, honey! You're so awesome! (And no one tell him that the golf ball is one of those exploding-confetti gag balls, ok? He'll prolly figure it out! Maybe.)
