 Oh goody - I can JUST slip in to play at In{k}spire Me #408 - "red Christmas!" I knew what I wanted to do right away - I wanted to play with the super cute Perfectly Plaid trees, but all in red! I found this red-but-snowy sheet in the Let It Snow pack, and made a few red trees to scatter on top. I also thought this sentiment went with perfectly - and I love using markers to ink up stamps for multiple tones! I finished with one jumbo rhinestone to anchor that bottom corner. Love it! Hm, today I'm going to take a stab at marrying up two themes: Inspire Create Challenge #057's "fancy folds" and The Sisterhood of Crafters' "trees trees and more trees" theme. Let's see what happens! I knew right away I wanted to do an easel card for my fancy fold - I love these! So fun to have a card that stands up on its own, and this time I wanted to try doing an extended scene with it, strategically playing with elements from Snow Front. I love how it came out! The outside shows a winter landscape under a snowy and starry sky, then the easel shows all teh foreground in front of the cabin. It came out just how I pictured! Hope I have enough trees, lol! I went with some Rococo Rose accents this round, and caught this bunny romping in the snow - shhh, don't startle him! So, I wish I had some little ice skaters or something - usually I like to play right on the book covers for TLC. This time, though, it was not to be, lol. So how about we talk about Amy's pickled limes?? I loved that chapter, and remember so well the feeling of being so willing to try anything to fit in where I thought I didn't, sigh. I pulled out my Lemon Zest set, and made up my limes - darker with a tiny tinge of yellow for the pickling. Take that, Mr. Davis! You can't keep a good pickled lime down!
