Here's a fun sketch from Case This Sketch #202! Hm, my wheels are turning...
OK, so I decided to start by searching out a fun shape to play with. I thought at first I'd do something floral, but I kept going back to guest DT Brian's awesome take on this one. Even the colors, while not usually my go-to, were so striking! I ended up with this fun hexagon from Scenic Sayings, and I stamp-a-ma-jigged my brains out getting them all tiled together like this. To try to keep with the gradation of the sketch, I stamped off with each successive row - wowza! And what a great way to get to pull out fresh grid paper!! Lol, I had plum everywhere, I swear...

Love this layout from Create With Connie & Mary #437 - they make it so easy to play with different shapes!
This sketch seemed like a great chance to preview one of our awesome new Sale-A-Bration stamp sets: Avant-Garden. Can you believe SAB is just around the corner? This set features a lovely "engraved"-looking stem, and also some more casual shape options - with appropriate details to add to either style - so fun! You can't go wrong with the sweet sentiments either... Love it it! I'm such a sucker for a pretty stem!

In{k}spired by Banff

SO excited about In{k}spire Me #280's final Christmas challenge - my favorite place for Christmas! And thinking of that place, TGIF #86's Let It Snow inspiration will go perfectly!
So, if I can't be home all toasty and snuggly with the dogs and DH, sipping adult beverages and relaxing during a Downton Abbey marathon, take me to the Fairmont Banff Springs, and plunk me down in the Rundle for a long lazy afternoon tea (hopefully with Eggnog Martinis for dessert, lol) where the view out the window pretty much looks almost exactly like this. I don't know why one of my fave activities is to fly and then drive all the way to Banff so I can snooze in front of 4 or 5 different amazing fireplaces with my fully loaded kindle, attended by a helpful snow lodge cabana boy, but hey, there it is. Yes. Once you're inside, there's really no reason to leave unless you really want to - 7 or 8 restaurants, kitchens to tour, spa, gym, hot chocolate (with fresh whipped cream) at every door, and of course, everyone knows, Santa stops here first on his way south, lol. Oh, OK, yes, I go outside to soak in the Hot Springs pool at night, when all the wild animals come and take naps around the edges to keep warm. Eden in Winter, baby.

I'm so excited to guest contribute at What Would You Stamp #95 - Flurry of Wishes! I'm combining it with this week's Match the Sketch #155!
I got to thinking today, whenever I stamp snowflakes, my go-to color combo is always blue with silver. I thought I'd try out blue with gold today, Dapper Denim and Champagne Glimmer! I wanted to sneak in this snowflake sheet from the This Christmas DSP pack, too, but I think the Dapper Denim still works! I think when you live in the desert, you get to imagine snow in whatever colors you want, lol...

Today's fun sketch comes from Freshly Made Sketch #267, and I'm combining it with the bright colors at Color Throwdown #423!
It's so weird, I've just realized that this card is a strange combo of cutting-edge-new, and ancient-days-retired, lol... I couldn't wait to try out my preview Big on Birthdays set, and the sentiment that called out to me right away - "at least you're still pretty" - hilarious! I already have several folks in mind that I know this one needs to go out to, lol. Then I combined it with my beloved and still hoarding Lucky Limeade - that loss STILL stings, sigh. I miss you, LL! But you're still pretty, too!

This week's Stamps Ink Paper #78 is a gimmee - Winter Holiday! Yay! I'm combining it with this cute sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday #301!
So, a perfect chance to get out my cute guys in Snow Place out to play again! After all this time, I think I've finally embraced how to use this set so that I also use all the accompanying framelits that I can, lol. Although, I just notived, I could have done the little buttons separately, too, so always room to keep on learnin', I guess... So glad to have a happy little snowman to brighten my day today! I think he needs to live on my desk awhile, lol...

Here's a lovely layered sketch from Global Design Project #66! I'm combining it with this week's Merry Monday #226 - Winter Fun!
I think the Merry Monday theme gives me another chance to trot out my Mountain Adventure set - it really needs just a little more play, lol. Today I did some Christmas -colored snowboards. They can't help but remind me of a major crash my hubby had about two years ago. His butt was seriously broken, lol, it was awful, and they weren't these pretty Christmas colors either, tee hee. He decided to swear off the snowboard in favor of preserving his golf game - go figure!

OK, the sketch at this week's Case This Sketch #201 is just darling, with that little present! Of course, I prolly won't use a present, since I also plan to play today at In{k}spire Me #279's American Christmas theme, lol.
So, are these cookie guys American enough?? I have to admit, I was a bit at a loss as to how to convey "American" Christmas, but the cookie seems to be a feature of the theme pic, lol, soooo... I couldn't quite make the sketch work in my mind with just one cookie, so I did a few, and HEY! THAT could be the American theme right there - cookie overload! Lol, well, it is in this American household, at least, lol...

What a cute tiled effect at this week's Match the Sketch #154! I'm pairing it with Create With Connie & Mary #436's colors.
Once again, I'm taking the sketch shapes as "suggestions," I'm so goofy that way. I swear every time that I'll stick to the bones of the sketches, and then simething happens when I sit down with ink and stamps in hand - everything goes off the rails, lol. Today it was the thought of how cool a swirly sparkly silver shape would look with a stitched sentiment floating over it. Sigh. What can I say - I just gave in, lol. (And it looks like this stamp set finally ran its course, and is no longer available online. Aww...)
