So fun - time to "pick 2" for Time Out Challenge #302! As soon as I spotted the NATURE prompt, I knew I was going to break into my new Sweet Bugs suite from the upcoming Spring Mini catty - these little cuties are adorable! First up, I set up a pretty printed background from one of the special sheets of DSP - I floated that over a strip of EMBOSSED Crushed Curry, using my also new Lovely Stripes EF. I love that stitched detail! Next up I picked a couple bugs to color and diecut, and while I had the dies out, I couldn't resist piecing this cute toadstool to go with the ones on the stump - there's a smaller one, too! Then, I had to finish my sentiment with an epoxy Ladybug from the embellies - this suite is SO me, lol. Maybe I could even pull in MOVIE - for A Bug's Life! Sweet Bugs Stamp Set & Dies; Cute As A Bug DSP; Basic White, Old Olive & Crushed Curry CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Old Olive, Daffodil Delight & Smoky Slate Blends Markers; Wide Oval Punch (retired); Lovely Stripes EF; Ladybug Garden Epoxy Shapes; #TOC302.

Lol, Shopping Our Stash #561 would like to see "a quick thank you," that is, 30 minutes or less! Hah, I say, I've been trained by As You See It to go for 10 minutes!! OK, so I DID use a new stamp set for this one, I couldn't resist once I spotted the sentiment in our upcoming Unbridled Beauty stamp set - and I don't have any horsey stamp sets already! So I cheated a little, but I also used my Early Espresso Linen Thread, which has been languishing on my desk since it arrived, and I was able to pull in the Streaked Dots, which I though added a nice wood-looking touch as well. Also, I will never part with my beloved Tasteful Labels Dies from 2022 - these babies have just the right size shape and size for all my oddball sentiments!! After all that, even with the fussy-cutting, I finished at 17 minutes, 45 seconds! Unbridled Beauty Stamp Set; Basic White & Pecan Pie CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Early Espresso Inks; Pecan Pie, Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow & Smoky Slate Blends Markers; Tasteful Labels Dies (retired); Early Espresso Linen Thread; Streaked Dots; #SOS561. Check out our many-layered sketch this round at As You See It #362 - gorgeous! So I got to looking over my pre-order shipment for this one - it arrived so fast! - and I think I see a chance to ink up an upcoming set! This little cutie is from Woolly Friends, and you can also get it bundled with a builder punch! I actually don't have any current Spring-y papers on hand, so I mixed and matched some fun colors from my Florals in Bloom pack - which is why my colors are a bit "offbeat," shall we say, lol. Anyway, I have lots of plans for cute herds of sheep ahead! I can't wait to see what YOU make of our fun sketch - meet you at the challenge! Woolly Friends Stamp Set; Florals in Bloom DSP; Basic White, Summer Splash, Secret Sea & Strawberry Slush CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Strawberry Slush Inks; Strawberry Slush Blend Marker; Summer Splash Resin Dots; #AYSI362. Oo, they have a beautiful color combo this round for us at Cupcake Inspirations #631 - maroon and gold! I knew right away I'd be bringing back our retired Merry Merlot for this one - I so loved this color! (And of course, I burned through my even older Bravo Burgundy AGES ago, lol.) I found a sheet of Merlot DSP even, so I set up a background with that, and found my Poinsettia Petals bundle from 2022 to add some robust Gold Foil accents - just gorgeous! I did a layered poinsettia to feature, then couldn't resist a couple holly leaves and a berry stem to go with. A big bold holiday greeting is perfect in the center! I finished with some tiny gold Festive Pearls! Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set (retired 2022); Merry Merlot DSP (retired); Basic White & Gold Foil CS; Merry Merlot Ink (retired); Poinsettia Dies (retired); Festive Pearls; #CIC631. Uh oh, the DT at The Male Room #204 is throwing down! They're calling for a FLORAL man card! I had to really buckle down for this one, lol. I finally settled on these spare wildflowers from Nature's Harvest. I decided to float them over this muted plaid sheet from the Timeless Plaid pack, and took my colors from there - I think Cajun Craze makes a good man-flower color, lol. As I was pulling the die for these, I was reminded again that there's a second sheet of dies, so I added these grassy stems behind the flowers, too - very meadow-like! I went with the thank you sentiment because it had this sweet die to cut it out, and I tucked a linen thread bow behind it just because - but that's it - no embellies! Nature's Harvest Stamp Set (retired 2023); Plaid Tidings DSP; Basic White, Cajun Craze & Mossy Meadow CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze & Mossy Meadow Inks; Water Painter; Harvest Dies (retired); Linen Thread; #TMR204. OK, I'm not too sure about those colors, but check out the funky sketch at In{k}spire Me #575! Since my Poppin' By bundle has been out visiting for a bit, I decided to get this one inky today - and so fun to color block! I did a nice bumpy background first in Real Red with my Basics 3 EF, then worked out the rest of the sketch, ending with my favorite footed popcorn - I just love the shoes and glasses for this one! I stamped first in Daffodil Delight for the buttery goodness, then again in Red onto scrap, so I could pop up the character carton, lol. I finished with the accessories in Black, and a few Sparkle Dots - so cute! Poppin' By Stamp Set & Dies; Basic White, Real Red, Daffodil Delight & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Real Red & Daffodil Delight Inks; Basics 3 EF; Daffodil Delight Low Profile Sparkle Dots; #IMC575. So I have finally managed to slip in at Seize the Birthday #317, to use Christmas supplies, and it's their last challenge of the year! Better late than never! I knew that the perfect set for this one would be a gorgeous Branching Out bundle - it's wintry, but it also has the prettiest birthday sentiment in it! I brightened it up a bit with lighter colors than I usually use: Pecan Pie instead of Early Espresso, Granny Apple Green instead of Shaded Spruce - and look how cheery and fresh it looks! Yes! I couldn't resist doing it all on the ticket punch layers, or a few sparkly green sequins, too, lol. I love it! Branching Out Stamp Set & Dies; Basic White & Granny Apple Green CS; Pecan Pie, Granny Apple Green & Cherry Cobbler Inks; Granny Apple Green Glitter Sequins; #STB317. I so love our taggy sketch this round at Sunday Stamps #374! I decided to dip in to my gorgeous 12 Days of Crafting Advent Collection again today - and I really wanted to break into some of the little goodies I haven't even OPENED yet! I chose a few papers from the DSP, and pulled the pattern for my little banner from one of the ephemera packs - so pretty! I went with Old Olive as my coordinating color, so that was the ink I chose, too, and I picked out these sweet little gold flowers from what I think must really be a shaker mix. At the last second, I added this tie of Gold Cording Trim, too. I really like how it all came out! I can't wait to see YOUR takes on our fun sketch - meet you at the challenge! 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar & Collection; Basic White & Old Olive CS; Old Olive Ink; Stylish Shapes & Party Banner Dies; Gold Cording Trim; #SSC374. Wow, I'm loving the layered circles at Hand Stamped Sentiments #476 this round! Of course, you know I couldn't stick to circles, lol. I went for a browse looking for something fun I could do in three different sizes, and landed on last year's Merriest Trees set! Perfect! I set up a two-tone background, and got started on my trees - one full size but stamped off, so I could add the branch detail, one full strength medium, and one small with the sentiment! Instead of the skinny banners, I added on some Gold Cording Trim, and finished with a few of my beloved Star Trinkets. I'm loving the simple look of this one, but now I think it doesn't look as much like the sketch as I was thinking! Merriest Trees Stamp Set & Dies (retired 2025); Basic White, Crumb Cake & Cherry Cobbler CS; Shaded Spruce Ink; Gold Cording Trim; Star Trinkets (retired); #HSS476. There's a very fun sketch this round at Try a Sketch on Tuesday #683 - let's play! I decided to go all CAS with this one - it's the perfect sketch for it! I started with a simple white-on-white layer, and then masked off my column to blend some blues. I think I might be getting better at it - not as patchy as usual, lol. I ran a cut of this sweet stem from my old Meadow Dies to lay over it, and added this sentiment from my trusty Simply Said set to go with. A Spray of tiny Silver Pearls finishes things off - yes, my Festive Pearls were still out on my desk from yesterday, lol. Sweet and quick! Simply Said Stamp Set; Basic White CS; Night of Navy, Misty Moonlight & Cloud Cover Ink; Blending Brush; Meadow Dies (retired); Festive Pearls (retired); #TSOT683. |
