I decided to pull out the still-fun Picture Perfect Birthday suite to tackle this one. Square cards are not as mailable here, so I also tried it out in a standard greeting card size - works just fine! I pulled out some fun papers from the Picture Perfect DSP pack, so sad this is retired now, and added some Picture Perfect Birthday details to finish it off. I love Berry Burst!  Time for some festive Fall colors at Fab Friday #150! Hope you can join us! Today for me was all about trying to think of our color challenge in a new way - what to do? After a bit I decided I had so much fun making a Christmas plaid a few days back that I wanted to try it again! How about a Mint Macaron plaid? I say YES! I added some detail stripes with my markers, and popped up a simple "hey" for my sentiment. Totally a fun way to play with color! So, what will YOU come up with?? Kindness is the lovely theme we have at this week's AAA #127, In honor of World Kindness Day on November 13! When I went hunting through my sets for a likely "kindness" set, I came across the gorgeous Enjoy Life - I love the silhouette images and details in this one, and the sentiments are just lovely to go with. For this one, I had some fun with my sponge brayer and a few blue-green colors to make a pretty background for this gentle field scene - with a perfectly "kind" sentiment. I hadn't seen this cover image for the book before - very cool, and it gave me a little idea, lol. I still have 2005's Fashion Statements tucked away, and that set has a FABULOUS wardrobe, lol. Now it might not be obvious why this fine piece of furniture is out in the snowy woods, but it was too perfect to pass by, lol. I thought the angel wings appropriate to the story as well, though I never realized there were Christian themes in these stories til I hit college, lol. This week's Fusion Challenge has a lovely Fall scene to inspire us, along with a super cute sketch! I was super inspired by all the lovely turning leaves in the inspiration pic, and I immediately thought of my Vintage Leaves set, which retired just this year. I love the detail in these beauties, and they are simple MADE for our Blends markers, lol. I pulled out my two faves, colored them up with a combination of Cajun Craze, Daffodil Delight & Mango Melody, then cut them out with ease with their matching Leaflet Framelits. Yes, another great reason to love this gorgeous set, lol. I matched everything up with the still current Country Lane DSP, and a lovely Fall sentiment from my beloved Falling for Leaves set - a perfect marriage! My eye went straight to the bottom row this time - Stamping-Red-Plaid - hello, Buffalo Check! I love making my own custom plaids with this one - so easy to add a stripe or two of extra color for just the right color fit! This time, I did a nice bold red check, and added a simple single green stripe to the grid - the easiest Christmas plaid ever, lol. I decided I really wanted to add some green over that red, so a few Old Olive pine sprigs from the Pretty Pines Thinlits were totally in order. This card came together quickly and easily - win-win! We have some cool harvest fields colors this week at Sunday Stamps #191! Looking over the gorgeous Autumn field of the inspiration pic made me think immediately of the quiet Wishing You Well set. This one seems to be another one of those in between sets, versatile enough to be used for different holidays, with just a change of colors. I got this set because I LOVE the big wheat sheaf image - so delicate and shaded so beautifully as one of our Dist-INK-tive line - this really is a label to watch for as it gives so much layered detail in a single impression. I think The Sisterhood of Crafters has a perfect theme going this week - humor! I originally thought I was going to pull out my beloved Dad Jokes set for this one ("Dad, did you get a haircut? No, I got them all cut!" Yuk Yuk) but then I stumbled across my shamefully underused Birthday Banners set, which contains this Tiny Fire crack - oh yes! This set is accompanied by the very cool Bunch of Banners framelits - so fancy! I think this is the first time I have used this combo, which is totally shocking to me. I squeezed in a tiny fire so it would make sense, and put my Happy Birthday on the inside. I can't help but smile every time I look at this, lol. For my "harvest table," I decided to prepare a treat bag for the yummy pumpkin cookies that we have this time of year - such a fun gift to share with all our Thanksgiving guests! I even kept it to my new fave brights collection (really becoming my go-to, I know!) for a super cheery, any-age card.
