 Oo, Stamp Ink Paper #74's Clean & Simple Christmas looks fun! I'm combining it with this sketch from Freshly Made Sketch #263. So, I started out all confident that I could achieve the clean and simple goal here, but now I'm not so sure I made it, lol. I was NOT successful today at quitting while I was ahead! Every time I added a snowflake, I thought, oh, now it's out of balance, I have to add some HERE. Now I need something HERE, too, and on. And on, lol. I do try, I swear! Hopefully my simple stamping layer will squeak me through!  I love having so much space to play in in this week's Global Design Project #62! I'm also excited to be able to play at What Will You Stamp #90 this week - Paisleys & Posies! I won't lie - today's colors were totally inspired by a recent browse through my retired papers, lol. This sheet from Eastern Elegance just jumped out at me, so I decided to give it a whirl! It's funny how well this old pattern goes with our lovely paisleys, too - yay! While I was at first a little nervous about trying to interpret this sketch, once I hit my stride, I had SUCH a blast pulling together the details! I would never have guessed how festive the final result would look to me! I tried to take my tree theme to the limit, lol. I think I'll just finish with a shout-out here about how grateful I am for the wonderful creative work all my sketch-junkie-enablers provide for me. So I finally got a chance to try out my new Stitched Shapes Framelits - LOVE them! I am such a sucker for layers - I I love the little contrasting edges I can use to add dimension and depth. With the stitching edge, I get the same effect on one layer of paper! How cool! So much fun mixing it up with my paisleys and previews again...  I'm excited by the possibilities in this week's fun layout from Case This Sketch #198! I just had to pair it with this wild color combo from In{k}spire Me #275, too! So, even with my excitement, this layout really had me stumped this afternoon! I have a few preview items left to show, but alas, I can't quite make them work for this combo, sigh. Then I had it - I have a stack of big background stamps that were recently gifted to me from my dear friend Bonnie, in thanks for lunch-sitting their new and totally adorable Ridgeback puppy. I know, right? I should have been paying HER, lol! Anyway, in a tasty wine gift basket, she also snuck in these four Southwest-style petroglyph-looking wood-mounts. Super cool! They're from a company called Comotion, in Tucson, and I think they're gone now, but these are VERY cool! I played with the ink colors on this one, and added this totally apt Banner Blessing. Love!  Check out these rich colors from Create With Connie & Mary #432! I think I'll combine them with this fun layout from Match the Sketch #150! Well, wouldn't you just know it - today's challenges seem to fit right in with another couple preview items I can share! Yay! This lovely stamp set is called Lift Me Up, and features a couple fancy hot air balloons, with airy sentiments. There's also a WONDERFUL thinlit set that goes with, that includes an even larger ornate cut-out to use for a focal point, that I didn't feature today. Bonus side? Our upcoming Sale-A-Bration has a gorgeous 12 x 12 DSP pack that is all about getting "Carried Away" with balloons! A perfect pairing!  Here's a juicy color combo from Global Design Project #61! I'm combining it with this fun sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday #296. I don't know why, but I just couldn't shake wanting to do a Christmas card today. I really thought I could pull it off! It came out OK, I think, but the Sweet Sugarplum just isn't quite right to my eye, sigh. Oh well - I piled the Emerald Envy high, and will hope for the best, lol! Finally, my scarecrow gets to make an appearance!! Lol, I dithered for about an hour before I finally realized this was his patchwork moment of glory - purple scarecrows unite! I had a super fun time coloring in my little guy with my aqua-painter - hopefully he gets out again soon!  I am SO excited that the wonderful Can You Case It is back in the blog-o-sphere!! Yay, ladies! They're kicking off with this tasty color challenge! These colors definitely made me think of Fall, and one thing I do miss here in the desert is the changing leaves of my East Coast origins. I prepped the heck out them, too, so even though it's six (yes, SIX!) cards, you'll fly right through while still having a relaxing and creative time! Consider this a little flight of last minute special cards! Class is still on for Sunday, November 13 at 3 pm! Class is $25, or FREE with any order of $30 or more, and includes all your supplies, drinks and treats, and a special gift from me! RSVP today to save your spot!  WOW! I don't know about you, but I think hitting our 100th challenge at Fab Friday is a BIG DEAL! Am I going to see you there? I'm adding in Retro Sketch #239 to mine! I know when I first saw our colors this week, I pulled out my Petals & Paisleys suite, thinking that'd be the natural choice. But, I didn't really want to go all vanilla today, so I opted for a touch of DSP that features all Rich Razzleberry.
