Check out the fun color combo at this week's Create With Connie & Mary Challenge #328! And they want it to be a Christmas card! How could I not join in? So, yes, I AM still buying new Christmas stamps, sigh. It's kinda a problem for me this year, lol. I can now count the number of Christmas and holiday stamps I did NOT get on less than one hand, yikees! One of my newest arrivals is this super awesome polar bear in Bearing Gifts. He's just dying to be fussy-cut I know, but I restrained myself today, and instead went on a piercing rampage! If it's not one thing, it's another, right? Bearing Gifts Stamp Set; All Is Calm DSP (on envelope); Lost Lagoon, Cherry Cobbler & Whisper White CS; Basic Black, Lost Lagoon, Cherry Cobbler & Smoky Slate Inks; Ovals Collection Framelits; Occasions Piercing Template. I'm so excited to invite everyone to this year's 24th Annual Holiday & Gift Show at Mountainview Presbyterian! This year's show is scheduled for November 21, from 9 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday November 22 from 9 AM to 3 PM. Make sure to come early and get your cinnamon roll orders in! Goodness, have you seen the design team ideas over at this week's Freshly Made Sketch #161? Gorgeous! Can't wait to play! So I've had the beautiful Gentle Peace stamp set sitting on my desk for several weeks now, and I have SO wanted to use it! Today is that chance, whew! Besides just how awesome the stamp set itself is, and that it's the amazing crisp and sticky photopolymer, what I like best about this set is that it's a "coloring" stamp, lol. Love it! Can you tell I hope someone gets me a grown-up coloring book for Christmas? Hint: I know turning shapes on their heads is one of my favorite things, but today I stayed as true as I could to the sketch - the tiled background of the main image makes it SO easy to fit into whatever layout you need! Just trim to match the space available! Gentle Peace Stamp Set; Whisper White & Crumb Cake CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake & Blush Blendabilities; Candy Dots in Old Olive; Old Olive Baker's Twine; 1" Circle & Corner Rounder Punches. What a super-cute layout from this week's Sunday Sketch Challenge #88! I am totally pairing it with the sophisticated color challenge at this week's Nacho Average Challenge #114! This combo was also a great opportunity to pull out some items I haven't been using a lot lately, too - time to take care of THAT! Otherwise, I went pretty literal with the sketch, I admit, but still, fun to put a little twist on the ideas! These were fresh and cool colors to work with today - just like the weather... Tape It, Magnificent Maple & Good Greetings Stamp Sets; Pool Party, Very Vanilla & Baked Brown Sugar CS; Baked Brown Sugar & Pool Party Inks; Bitty Banners & On Film Framelits; Linen Thread. Wow, lots of fun elements to play with at this week's Mojo Monday #370, but again, how to make sense of all the shape choices?! This seems to be my week for weird colors and shapes, lol. I know I'm really pushing the envelope here, trying to use elements that I thought I loved when I got them, and then haven't used as much as I should - does this happen to anyone else? Please say that it does! In my case, I just HAD to have these funny feather shapes in A Happy Hooray. Have they seen ink before today, though? NOPE! Thank goodness Mojo Monday is here to drag it out of me! And while I like how the colors ended up, the Park Lane DSP is harder for me than I thought it would be, grr! A Happy Hooray Stamp Set; Park Lane DSP; Calypso Coral, Blackberry Bliss & Whisper White CS; Old Olive, Calypso Coral & Blackberry Bliss Inks; 1 3/8" Circle, Scallop Border Trim (retired) & Corner Rounder Punches; Basic Meatl Button; Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon. I love the landscaped lines at this week's Retro Sketch #139! However, fitting the layers together has been quite the challenge! Goodness, I went round and round with this one. I have even debated whether I wanted to show it, lol, but finally I figured, well, maybe folks want to hear, hey, sometimes I have a hard time making it work, too! Now, there's no way I'll admit how many times I ripped this card apart, and moved stuff around, and switched colors, etc, BUT, I did definitely get to something I think I can live with! Hm, perhaps I need to put my trust a little higher up, huh? You're Wonderful & Our Daily Bread Scripture Collection 8 Stamp Sets; Parisian Breeze specialty DSP (retired); Whisper White & Baja Breeze (retired) CS; Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake & Baja Breeze (retired) Inks; Linen Thread; Baja Breeze (retired) Seam Binding Ribbon; Neutrals Buttons (from the retired set, sorry!); Bigz Top Note Die. I've also heard they have several exciting new vendors - I can't wait to see! You can click here or on the picture to get your own flyer - see you there! Yes! Time for a new Pumpkin challenge! This month we're all about the pretty little package, lol, at My Pumpkin Challenge #1114 - Give It Pretty! So, I have to admit, I'm pretty intrigued by the possibilities of these cute "pie-shaped" boxes that came in this month's Paper Pumpkin. How could I not love a kit called "Sweet As Pie?" I think the colors are a bit intimidating - there's almost TOO MUCH choice, lol, not something I'd ever have thought I'd say! So I decided to take a bright alternative, and go all Strawberry Slush, all the time! I think it really brightens things up, and the cute box is the perfect size for a snack and a gift card for one of our teachers! Hint: The Stretch Ruffle Trim is prefect for tying closed the box without using anything I have to rip through to get into it - yay! Paper Pumpkin - Sweet As Pie; plus, Paper Pumpkin Framed Love; Whisper White & Strawberry Slush CS; Strawberry Slush Ink; Deco Labels Framelits; Essentials Piercing Template; Stretch Ruffle Trim in Strawberry Slush; Heavy Baker's Twine in Strawberry Slush; Boutique Detail Embellishment in Strawberry Slush. I have long admired the powerhouse team over at Create With Connie & Mary, so I wanted to try out their sketch challenge finally: getting going with some lovely layered elements at CCMC327! Since the weather is finally cooling off here in AZ, I decided to do some "weather" cards, lol. I have a different relationship with rain clouds than usual I think: around here, a little rain is a happy event! That's why I gravitated towards this cute stamp set "Think Happy." The little clouds and raindrops read HAPPY to me - weird, I know! The sketch's elements allowed me to really show off the stamped elements in the right sizes today, something I've found a bit challenging with this stamp set... Loving these off-kilter angles, too... Think Happy Stamp Set; Lullaby DSP; Whisper White, Hello Honey, Shara Sand, Coastal Cabana & Baked Brown Sugar CS; Baked Brown Sugar & Coastal Cabana Inks; Ovals Collection & Bitty Banners Framelits; Occasions Piercing Template; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. OK, troops, test-driving another new sketch challenge today. Check out Just Add Ink #238! I like how they think! Since I'm feeling a little sunny today (tomato seedlings planted - yeah!) I decided to make a sunny card, lol. The shapes were with me! I also had fun cutting out and assembling all the little rays: How about 5 in two sizes? Nope, let's try 6. Gr, nope. Let's just go for 8, that HAS to be enough! I think all the snipping paid off! Ray of Sunshine Stamp Set; Whisper White & Basic Black CS; Park Lane DSP; Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry & Basic Black Inks; 1 3/4" Circle Punch; Circles Collection Framelits; Basic Jewel Rhinestones, colored with Dark Daffodil Delight Blendability. Wow, look at that nice big circle in this week's In{k}spire Me #171! What to do with THAT?! Well, let's have a big flower today. But not just any flower! A multi-layered, fussy-cut flower! Yes! I was in a weird color mood today, though, so I'm not too sure about how that came out. Overall, it's pleasing in person, though. And for some reason, I needed this sentiment today... Flower Patch & Pursuit of Happiness (retired) Stamp Sets; Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride & Old Olive CS; Park Lane DSP; Calypso Coral & Blushing Bride Inks; Circles Collection & Flower Fair Framelits; Basic Jewel Jumbo Pearl, colored with Dark Calypso Coral Blenda. Look at the banner shape in the layers at this week's Freshly Made Sketch #160! You know I love that! So of course the great set to use with this sketch is Starburst Sayings - all those coordinating circles give me a lot of material here. The only question was color scheme, so I picked out some patterns from Gold Soiree that I haven't used yet and went from there. Sorry, I was in a fussy-cut mood today! You know you have it bad when you have to slice up your dimensionals into 5 or 6 little slivers, lol... Hint: I used the Banner Framelit to create my flag, but I threaded the top edge of the paper OVER the framelit so I could make it just a tad longer! Starburst Sayings Stamp Set; Pistachio Pudding & Whisper White CS; Gold Soiree Specialty DSP; Garden Green, Pistachio Pudding & Calypso Coral Inks; Starburst & Banners Framelits; Large Polka Dots Embossing Folder; 1/8: Organdy Ribbon is Calypso Coral (retired.)
