That kit is GONE, down to the last speck! Woo hoo! OK, sorry, I get a little carried away in frugal celebrations sometimes. I needed a moment there... Oo, I like the stripey challenge in this week's sketch at Create With Connie & Mary #377!
So, these stripes reminded me of strings on a package, you know? That led me to a new stamp set I'm getting to break out for our next class, Oh, What Fun. This is the set that goes with the awesome Oh, What Fun Tag Project Kit - we're so making a set each of these for our gifts and packaging class! Anyway, this set is chock full of totally cute holiday sentiments, that can used in SO many fun ways! So, I just realized I have a little stack of - GASP - un-inked stamps under some, um, stuff, on my desk! Sacrilege! Today's set features our newest snowflake offering (yes, yes, I always swear I won't get anymore, but hey, this makes seven generations of snowflakes in an unbroken line of stampin' goodness! Why mess with a record like that?) The hook for me on this one was the bundle of this with the matching punch - sa-WEET! I'm such a sucker for an accessory, lol. This set was perfect for this sketch, though, I think. This could be my house card this year, except for the irony of mailing it out from the Arizona desert! I love the sketch this week at Nacho Average Challenge #163! I'm going to add in this lovely inspiration challenge from TGIF #25, too!
I browsed my botanical sets for this one, and decided to combine a couple to get the elements I wanted: I love the leaf spray in Kinda Eclectic with so many flowers - today I grabbed one from Flower Shop! Also fun to aquapaint - one of my favorite coloring techniques by far! As so often happens to me, I got a little carried away with the extra details, but I tried to limit myself to at least the SMALL pearls, at least! So, yeah, a MOOSE? OK, lol. I thought at first I was going to have to miss this one, but then I remembered - that hairy Santa set, Visions of Santa, didn't that have a moose in it? I think there was DSP that did - let's visit the Room of Retirement! Score! I also struggled with the layout, natch, until the fancy fold challenge arrived to save me - whew! So, it might be a little bit of a cheat to use the Circle Card Thinlets, but hey, if I have a tool, I'm gonna use it! In the end, I LOVE this card - every self-respecting moose paints his antlers red for Christmas, right? Toes, too, gotta be matchy-matchy... When I see a nice focal circle like this, I immediately run for Flower Patch - have you ever noticed, lol? Ah well, I do love it so, and it's so fun to layer up. This time, in order to stay true to my FAB color palette, I decided to play with the Bermuda Bay by inserting a layer that had been stamped off - what a great way to stretch our colors! I had to toss on a few Bermuda Bay sequins too, I suddenly caught sight of my sequin trim from across the room and knew I "needed" it!
