![]() Hee hee, having fun playing with Perfect Blend this week! Incredibly, I had not yet gotten around to getting my own set of this one, but let's just say - it's winging its way to me now! The wide open fields of this week's Nacho Average Challenge #59 provided the perfect space to showcase a cuppa Joe! A little study in browns, lol... I had so much dimension already, I decided to pass on the ribbon, though... Perfect Blend stamp set; Very Vanilla, Soft Suede & Early Espresso CS; Venetian Romance DSP; Early Espresso ink; Heart to Heart (retired, Large & Small Tag Punches. ![]() Don't forget - there's still time to RSVP for October's "Welcome" Banner Class, Thursday October 24 at 630 pm, or Friday October 25 at 10 am, both chez Heroldt! ![]() Wow - this week's Retro Sketch #85 offers some intriguing ways to manage one's card layers, lol! It took me a while to deconstruct the pieces I knew I wanted to keep in the sketch for sure on my version... I knew I wanted to incorporate some DSP, and that pointed me in the direction of Christmas - yay! Got to play with lots of toys for this baby! Tag It stamp set; Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White & Old Olive CS; Season of Style DSP; Cherry Cobbler & Old Olive inks; Chalk Talk framelits; 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain; White Baker's Twine; Regals buttons; Scallop Edge Border punch; Stylish Stripes embossing folder; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. ![]() Don't forget to RSVP for October's "Welcome" Banner Class, Thursday October 24 at 630 pm, or Friday October 25 at 10 am, both chez Heroldt! Save your spot today! ![]() For this week's Clean & Simple #262, I ended up taking a pretty literal route, lol! I feel like I never have used the adorable Sweet Buttons embosslit enough, to be honest. I was also in the mood for some little splashes of color, and our Subtles collection was just too perfect! Here in Arizona, the weather is finally cooling off enough that gardeners are plotting their winter plantings, so ironically, Fall is more like Spring here - can you tell I have my own garden on the brain?? A quick tip - I highlighted the details on the embossed buttons by giving them a little splash of Whisper White craft ink with a sponge dauber - just a touch! Lots of Thanks & Button, Button (retired-on envelope) stamp sets; Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Blushing Bride & Soft Sky CS; Subtles & Neutrals button collections; Sweet Buttons embosslit; White Baker's Twine; Corner Rounder Punch. ![]() Just in time for the holidays, we have another new photopolymer stamp set - Endless Wishes! This one sure is a cutie, and priced for a bargain, too - 19 stamps for $13.95 - totally adding this one to my must haves! Click on the picture for the full flyer, or go here to start shopping - there are so many goodies to have! ![]() Don't forget to RSVP for October's "Welcome" Banner Class, Thursday October 24 at 630 pm, or Friday October 25 at 10 am, both chez Heroldt! Save your spot today! ![]() This week's dramatic sketch at Paper Craft Crew #63 gave me a chance to ink up another new stamp set - the hostess set Simply Sketched. The main thing that caught my eye with these stamps was the gorgeous images - just right for coloring! For today's card, I couldn't decide which one I wanted to use, but the sketch let me trot out all three - gorgeous! Always good to make sympathy cards in a island of calm - I never seem to have them when I could use one, sigh. Simply Sketched stamp set; Pear Pizzazz, Perfect Plum & Very Vanilla CS; Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz & Perfect Plum inks; Pretty Print embossing folder; Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border, Large Oval, 1 3/8" & 1 1/4" Square punches; Pear Pizzazz Taffeta ribbon. ![]() Don't forget to RSVP for October's "Welcome" Banner Class, Thursday October 24 at 630 pm, or Friday October 25 at 10 am, both chez Heroldt! In{k}spire Me #117 seemed the perfect sketch to marry up with My Pumpkin Challenge's #1013 focus on textures! And I'm really digging this faboo color combo, too- how have I never been addicted to Bermuda Bay before now? I used to think I wasn't a turquoise-y person, but hm, it's really talkin' to me now... OK, your turn! Show me your pumpkin, baby! Paper Pumpkin's Party Pennants, Pedal Praise & Wahoo; Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate & Whisper White CS; Bermuda Bay & Calypso Coral inks; Brights Candy Dots; Calypso Coral Organdy (retired-SAB 2012). ![]() Don't forget to RSVP for October's "Welcome" Banner Class, Thursday October 24 at 630 pm, or Friday October 25 at 10 am, both chez Heroldt! Save your spot today! ![]() It's always a happy accident when I see a new sketch on the day new stamps come in the mail, like for this week's Freshly Made Sketch #107. Also speaking of mail, I also loved that the sketch was so wide open to any interpretation I could dream up, because I've been thinking of my little sister who just moved to North Dakota this week A LOT. Let's just say this Arizona gal will NOT be seeing sis for Christmas this year, lol, unless she comes here! I think I conveyed the sense of that in this "thinking of you" card I made for her - I'm thinking of her freezing her buns off, frankly! Greetings From & Map It Out photopolymer stamps; Sweet Essentials stamp set; Crumb Cake, Pool Party & Whisper White CS; First Edition Specialty DSP (retired); Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Garden Green, Pool Party & Pear Pizzazz inks; 3/4" Circle Punch. ![]() This week's Sunday Stamps #60 presented a little challenge - how to duplicate that graceful swoop shape? In typical fashion, I cheated, lol. I decided to substitute a scrap of CS cut using the Tasteful Trim die, that's a little more swooshy, but still conveys the movement, I think. And movement, of course, needs something to move, so how could I NOT have pinwheels? Think of it as a strawberry breeze on paper! Sweets for the Sweet & Banner Greetings stamp sets; Whisper White, Pool Party & Strawberry Slush CS; Quatrefancy Specialty DSP; Starwberry Slush, Daffodil Delight & Pool Party inks; Tasteful Trim Bigz XL die; Simply Scored Borders Plate; Brights & Subtles brads; Subtles Candy Dots. ![]() Don't forget to RSVP for October's "Welcome" Banner Class, Thursday October 24 at 630 pm, or Friday October 25 at 10 am, both chez Heroldt! Save your spot today! I have been waiting for our October class since our Holiday Catty first came out - now's our time to finally play with the Simply Created Build A Banner kit! Woo! I wanted to make it a little Autumn, but still simple enough to hang up year-round if one wanted - and I dressed it up with some exclusive accessories from the Simply Created Thankful Tablescape kit, too! Let me just tell you - that birch-bark paper is SO COOL!
You get lots of personalization choices, as usual, but as much work as I could do for you ahead of time, I have done - to give you the most time to play! I think the banner kit is worth it for the stencils alone... So, our class is scheduled for 630 PM, Thursday, October 24, chez Heroldt, or, for my day-larks, 10 am on Friday October 25, also chez Heroldt! $20 includes all supplies, treats and snacks, but you might want to bring your own hot-glue gun. RSVP today, so I can make sure to have your supplies ready! ![]() Has anyone else seen the movie "Drop Dead Fred"?? Oh gosh, I used to laugh so hard! Need to check Netflix, I think... Anyway, there's this one line I'll paraphrase, that has been going through my head this morning when I was creating today's card for Clean & Simple #261 - "No stamping! NO! STAMPING!" Lol, that's all from my socially inappropriate imaginary friend, snicker... Since I'm ranging out into no-stamping-land, I figured I'd roll out some of my old favorites from the retired paper bins, too - I still miss you, Baja Breeze! Label Card & Circle Card thinlets; Labels Collection framelits; Parisian Breeze Specialty DSP (retired); Chocolate Chip, Crumb Ckae, Cherry Cobbler & Baja Breeze (retired-SOB) CS; Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon (retired); Basic Jewel Rhinestones. ![]() When I saw Janet's Halloween sign at Stampin' Nerd, I knew I HAD to CASE it! I never know what to do with the beautiful subway-art-esque sheets that come in our DSP packs, and with one just for Halloween, how could I resist? Then what-do-you-know, along comes Fab Friday #28 with a color scheme as well - I feel like I kinda cheated, though, lol! After inking up (I had to add Crushed Curry, too!), I added some ribbon and rogue jewels, and was all set - this whole project only took an hour, even with waiting on the modge podge! Brilliant, Janet! This is all just cut into blocks and modge-podged to chip board scrap, with edges blackened and roughened, and wired together to hang on the guest bathroom door. Next step: dry ice for the toilet... Witches Brew DSP; Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive & Crushed Curry inks & ribbons; rogue "Dark" Jewels; Natural Trim Ribbon; Witches Brew Washi Tape (freebie from Convention - woo!); Various eyelets; decorative wire. |
