Feliz Navidad!

Here's another card for my Espanol box!  This year's awesome Holiday DSP Candlelight Christmas included a flocked window sheet - I am always stumped by how to use those!  I tried my hand at this simple layout for a quick and discreet float of color over a natural background.  I had to be creative about my pop dot placement, so that none of them showed!  Maybe windowed cookie boxes are in order for the rest!

Al Punto (Easy Events) stamp set; Crumb Cake, Whisper White & Lucky Limeade CS; flocked window sheet from Candlelight Christmas DSP; Stitched Grosgrain in Whisper White.

Clean & Simple Philippians

Clean & Simple #210 was another stumper for me!  Refraining from embellishment is SO hard!  I just want to dress those designs up to the nines, you know?  I felt like my three little pearls was very restrained, compared with how I WANTED to go, hee hee!  That makes this week's sentiment all the more relevant for me, I guess, go figure...  Less dressing up - more substance!

Naturals Ivory & Pool Party CS; Spice Cake (retired) DSP; Our Daily Bread Scripture Collection #5, self-adhesive pearls.

Well, I was going for a few things on this one, made for Freshly Made Sketch #55, and I think I might have done a tiny bit too much!
Objective 1:  Use up as much retired DSP as possible.  OK, but we're looking kind of busy here, even though purple and green were made to go together!
Objective 2:  Add to the birthday card box, stocks are running low.  Check!
Objective 3: Use the I Am... stamp set as much as possible before I have to give it back!  Double check!
With all this achieved, I also threw in conquering my fear of square cards.  Almost there!

I Am... & Happiest Birthday Wishes (retired) stamp sets; Pink Pirouette, Whisper White & Elegant Eggplant (I'm out of Concord Crush, finally) CS; Cheerful Treat (retired) DSP; Labels Collection & Bitty Banners framelits; Glimmer In Color brads (retired).

It's been a tough week around here - I'm still standing, but woo, treading water is starting to wear on me!
You know what you gotta do when it's like that?  Go to the chickens.  Instant pick-me-up, with lots of clucking.  And coloring.  VERY therapeutic!
All my sketch gurus have to get clucked at least once, anyway - Fab Friday 03, it's just your turn!

Best of Cluck (retired) & Chicken Wire (retired) stamp sets; Whisper White, Basic Gray, Real Red and More Mustard CS; Labels Collection framelits.

Hey, before I forget, there's an awesome new promo out there from Stampin' Up! for the month of October!  Get a FREE Festive Paper-Piercing Pack when you purchase the Ornament Keepsakes Set and Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper!
There's several combinations, but basically, if you buy the Ornament Keepsakes bundle (that's the stamp set and the framelit set), AND the Candlelight Specialty DSP, you get the Festive Paper Piercing pack for free!  What a bargain!  Click on the flyer to the left to get all the details - you can also get either wood OR clear-mount stamps with this...
I'm really loving all the new piercing templates, yay!

Creating cards for my friends and loved ones when I hear of tragedy in their lives is always bittersweet.  I hope to offer comfort, support, a reminder of God's love and plan for us - "He knows things that we know not."
My dear, dear friend, know that my prayers and thoughts are with you, now and always.

Lovely As A Tree & Blessings From Heaven stamp sets; Early Espresso, Old Olive & Very Vanilla CS; Adorning Accents edgelit & embossing folder; self-adhesive pearls; 1/8" Taffeta ribbon in Old Olive.  Thanks to Retro Sketch #31, for the layout.
