 Very nice - Retro Rubber #166 has a lovely pic for our inspiration this week - celebrating the dog days! I went back through the shelves of retirement looking for some likely candidates, picked up Varied Vases, then thought, where's the other one? It had some different stems in it, too! I found Vibrant Vases in my For Sale box (GASP!) and pulled it immediately. Curse you, Retro Rubber (with love, lol) you've lightened my For Sale box again! I love this sentiment from that set, which I believe first came out in 2019, though it only retired last year. I even still had the punch!  We have the perfect code word this week at Addicted to CAS #205 - "nature!" I turned again to my new Beauty of Tomorrow suite - today I'm plying a little more with the pretty dies. Check out all these pretty leaves! There are 3 different sizes, and the middle size has multiple dies for batch cutting! I chose three Fall colors, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry, and created a little swirl around this oversize sentiment - such a pretty scripty font! Such an elegant sketch Hand Stamped Sentiments #371 has for us this week! As soon as I saw this sketch, I knew I wanted to do the spotlight technique, and that I wanted to do it with Delicate Dahlias - what a chance! In the end, it took me three tries to get to this final card, mainly because at first I tried to make the spotlight portion NOT have the line art. It was just too indistinct, sigh, but on the other hand, I'm SO happy with this result in the end! I even got to feature my fave color combo of purple and green, lol. Can't go wrong there! Oh gosh, what a clever theme at this week's Cardz 4 Guyz #278 - things with tails! I laughed out loud!! I knew right away I'd be going to that cute little bear butt in Count On Me. There's a tail there - small but mighty! I stamped him on Crumb Cake for some quick all-over color, and then used a Crumb Cake Blends Marker to highlight his detail lines. I filled in the sweet heart with Calypso Coral - not pink, but in the zone, lol. I though the bear would look great over this woodgrain sheet from the Beauty of the Earth DSP pack, and I finished with these Bronze-y Brushed Metallic Dots. I think all together it's not too foo-foo for a guy! We have a lovely "take flight" theme to play along with at this week's Cupcake Inspirations #526! I found just the thing for this on the shelves - I haven't used this paper airplane yet, I don't think! I kept things pretty simple, and showed a few flying all crazy! To add some color, with a nod to the sketch picture, I stamped and fussy cut the planes themselves from a few different bright colors! With all those straight lines, it was a snap! I finished with a few Pool Party sequins, too. This is such a versatile set - I love all these cute travel images! Have to say I LOVE Less Is More #450's challenge this week - one layer spots - dots are my favorite! So off I went in search of "good dots." Did I mention they're my favorite candy, too? And my favorite phone game? Dots everywhere! I was excited when I found this one, with pretty shading and texture built right in, AND a great sentiment to boot! So, yes, that IS an avocado pit, lol, from Garden Goodness that retired last year! That avocado was the whole reason I got that set to begin with, so playing with the pit seems totally right to me! I showed off more of the gorgeous DSP this time - just couldn't resist all these critters snug in their stockings for my background. Next I moved on to a whole sheet full of stockings that I can cut out with the dies - this patterned beauty stole my heart, so out she came with a little holly-and-berries detail added, too. So many critters, you just know the Santa Paws sentiment is going to be my go-to, lol. I can't wait to see your stocking projects with us this month - meet you at the challenge!
