I remember doing double-pocket cards an age ago, with some kind of folding technique and 12 x 12 paper, but I decided to kind of wing it today - a simple single pocket, floated over a regular card base - that holds a loose card for pulling out on the front, while still keeping the whole inside available for my written note - what fun!  Woo HOO! MAJOR milestone for the awesome In{k}spire Me #400 - check out that number! Congrats to that whole team on a major achievement! After a bit of searching, I finally settled on the awesome Cup of Christmas stamp set again for this one. It ended up a little more overlap-y than I had originally intended, but I decided to run with it anyway - my first time actually trying out the reversible stamps themselves - so cool! Such a fun idea - The Sisterhood of Crafters is running a "paper piecing" challenge this week! Yeah! My favorite way to paper piece is to combine stamped images with pieces in DSP, but I had a tough time picking out a good image for that today, sigh. I finally resorted to my retired shelves and pulled out Beach Happy so I could do a fun dotty umbrella... I still might go back and do some fancy piggies, too, lol. Anyway, this was a fun little fussy cut taste, and I even got to pull out my penultimate Pool Party Tutti-Frutti SAB card base from a couple years ago - only one left! So, I really labored over which stamp set to go with for this one - I LOVE this color combo, and I wanted to do something funky! I'm so thrilled I can squeeze in this week's technique challenge from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown #32 - Joseph's Coat! So, I'm not sure I've actually ever done a Joseph's Coat technique before - at least, not on purpose, lol. I do like emboss resist a lot, and this seems pretty similar, with a multi-color aspect thrown in. I decided to try something a little different, and play with the little buffalo check stamp in my new Tiny Keepsakes set, that goes with the new Mini Curvy Keepsake dies - so fun! I brayered some Christmas-y Brights on white, then clear heat-embossed the stamp. Another brayer layer in Black, a bit of clean up, and here we go - kind of an ombre plaid, lol. I like it! Definitely a candidate for our next Let's Get Messy Class!  I'm loving Fusion's pretty "floral wall" combo this week - very inspiring! I have to admit, though, I'm going totally rogue so far as the theme is concerned - I just could NOT settle on a floral I liked today! Argh! So I decided to strike out on a tangent, and started with some likely stripy paper from the Come Sail Away pack, which brought in the gorgeous Sailing Home stamp set. And check it out, a suspiciously handy circle shape in the compass! Yes! Sometimes going rogue is just meant to be, lol... But really, I couldn't resist this yummy sentiment to go with the cute candy canes in this lovely wintry mug. And how about that mitten paper? Eek! So cute!
