Daisy Fusion

Another great combo this week over at Fusion - Daisies!
Since I do have the pretty Daisy Delight set, I decided to try for both the sketch and the inspiration, with a couple color liberties, lol. The sketch looks so much like a wreath, I immediately thought of our fun scribbly loop in the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits for my base. I also decided to go for the smaller daisy to fit better - I've not used them at all since the larger one has a punch - I fussy-cut these cuties by hand, lol. I like the texture and color combo here, I think - showing my softer side, lol.

Time to start warming up for the cooler weather, and make some gorgeous Autumnal cards with our new harvest sets from the 2018 Holiday Catalog! We have some beautiful suites to play with, and I'm pretty sure there will be a spooky treat in it for you, too! We will make 5 cards, using all new products, celebrating the season and gratitude. I love our alpine colors this week at Sunday Stamps #187! And I think I can do something fun with them for Global Design Project #154's pretty landscape sketch!
So, I suspect a theme for me whenever I spy Mint Macaron in a color challenge is going to be to run straight for the gorgeous First Frost suite, lol. Seriously, I just can't get over the beautiful pearly papers in the Frosted Floral DSP! I'm excited too by how the sketch allowed me to sneak some BRIGHT pops of color against my wintry background - I think I'll be filing this one in the wedding section - for real!

Balloons Gone Wild

Wow, Hand-Stamped Sentiments #297 is showing off their wild side with this week's inspiration block!
This one was really a stumper for me - we have a couple jungle sets going right now, and I don't have either of them, lol. Argh! See? This is how I end up with everything in teh catty!! Lol. Anyway, I finally noticed that one of the pics in the block had lots of balloons - saved! Out came my trusty Balloon Celebrations, in a pretty collection of my brightest greens. I actually like these colors together way more than I though I would! And to finish, I even popped on my "wild" sentiment from yesterday's "A Little Wild." It all works out in the stampin' end, lol.

Good times - SU Only #206 has a babies and kids challenge going this week!
I decided to use my adorable A Little Wild set - these little critters are TOO cute, and I think it's so hilarious that they're also actually tags - so you get a front and a "back" for each one, lol. Elephant booty, anyone?? Anyway, I found my old Hello You Thinlits to stack for the front and put my "great big welcome" on the inside. I liked this stripey paper from the Twinkle Twinkle suite for the "non-specific" colors, too. Mission accomplished!

Oh goodie - Retro Rubber #94 is running one of my fave challenge types this week - anything goes! Let's visit the vault! I'm squeezing in CAS-ual Friday #207's minty color challenge, too!
I pulled double retro today - with Pursuit of Happiness from 2011, and Four Feathers from 2014. This ended up being a pretty eclectic ensemble, lol, especially because I was so inspired by the touches of copper I saw everywhere on the Design Team inspiration samples at CFC! Pursuit of Happiness has my fave Desmond Tutu quote in it, but there are several other keepers in there as well, as you can see - words to live by!

Oh yes - you know it's an exciting day when I find another new blog to play at, lol - this week I'm checking out The Sisterhood of Crafters - they have a "blooming flowers" challenge going just now - sweet! I'll be using this sketch from Case This Sketch #287 to help me along, too!
Of all my botanicals, I can't remember using Flourishing Phrases all that recently, and you know me, once I get an idea stuck in my head, lol... I really wanted to see a big purple bloom today! I kept it simple, and on a different neutral - I love bright colors against Crumb Cake! I'm thinking this could be a cheery get well or sympathy card - such great sentiments in this set!

We have a lovely layered sketch for you this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #378! Just for fun I'm also adding in Just Add Ink #424's just add texture challenge!
I decided to start this card by sorting through my embossing folders - what better way to add texture? I quickly found my Petal Pair set, that goes with the gorgeous Petal Palette stamp set - this should be just right! I went all pink today, not that usual for me, but I do like how it looks here - I just can't get over how much I love our Stampin' Blends markers! So glad we have these back, in so many more colors, too - woo hoo!

Look at this gorgeous bright color challenge from Inspire Create Challenge #25 - love it! I', going to match them up with this fun "queues" sketch from As You See It #183, too!
So, I really had a struggle pulling myself away from the idea of a row of birthday candles for this one - thank goodness (not really, lol) that set is missing some pieces - so I couldn't give in! BUT, how about a row of neon skis instead, all lined up for Ski School, ready to go? I think I actually like this better! It does remind me of the little kids we'd see at lessons in Banff - they had the brightest colored EVERYTHING, lol, with scarves to match! Looking at this takes me right back! Fun colors for a Christmas card, too!

Hm, Back to Basics & Beyond #10 has another cool challenge for us - an aperture card! I don't make too many of these... Gonna sneak in Global Design Projects #153's color challenge, too - yummy!
You know, I don't know what it is about color challenges that make me jump to Love You to Pieces, lol. I feel like I've done something similar to this before, but not as an aperture card, at least, lol. I also feel like the bright puzzle pieces look pretty fun against the Soft Suede woodgrain, especially with my enamel shapes sprinkled on! Good times again!

Mistletoe Panels (& Ready for Fall Class Sep 13 & 15!)

It's time for another fun technique challenge here at Try Stampin' on Tuesday - fun folds! We have all different versions to inspire you, too!
For my fun fold, I browsed on line for ideas for a bit, and decided I wanted to try my hand at the "zig-zag panel card" - I love the way the layers come together on this style! Also a great way to show off BOTH sides of our gorgeous DSP, and today I get to feature the exclusive Dashing Along pack! Here are the deets on how to get it for yourself! Anyway, I floated several oval panels over each other, and added beautiful holiday details from Mistletoe Season. I love that there are facing stamps in this set!
