Today's sketch is from Pals Paper Arts #318 - super cute! I'm going to add in TGIF #73's "negative space" challenge, too! OK, when I started this card, I pictured a totally different outcome - more layers, negative space inside negative space, a play on dimension... Oh well, I actually like this outcome, too, lol, I hope it qualifies for the negative space challenge! I definitely took liberties with the scale of the sketch, too, but all's fair in love and stampin'! Star of Light Stamp Set; Whisper White, Night of Navy & Silver Foil CS; Night of Navy & Encore Silver Inks; Starlight Thinlets; Silver Embossing Powder; Silver Sequin Trim; Silver Enamel Shapes. Lots of fun layers at this week's Match the Sketch #142! I'm combining it with the fun colors from Create With Connie & Mary #424, too! OK, so I originally had this striking layout that was ALL Moroccan DSP, until I realized at the last second that one of my panels was mainly Early Espresso, NOT Soft Suede! Sheesh! Yes, I are a SU demonstrator, lol! Anyway, I subbed in a quick panel from my Into The Woods (LOVED those woodgrain sheets!) Quick and fun, and lots of layers! Watercolor Wings & Endless Thanks Stamp Sets; Moroccan & Into The Woods (retired) DSP; Very Vanilla, Delightful Dijon, Soft Suede & Emerald Envy CS; Emerald Envy, Delightful Dijon & Soft Suede Inks; Layering Circles Framelits; Butterflies Thinlets; Wood Butterfly Shape (leftover from Watercolor Wishes kit.) What to do, what to do? MM, how about focus on the colors, and also throw in Stamp Ink Paper #65's monochrome challenge! And what the heck, let's also squeeze in this week's Freshly Made Sketch #254 - three's company! OK, I dug out all the red stuff I could for this one, lol. I wanted to fit in some white accents as well, to break it up a bit. I keep swinging back and forth on how much I like this card, personally... Also, because it has so much going on for the outside - I moved the sentiment to the inside, where I had room to fit in the largest saying! Star of Light Stamp Set; Merry Moments & misc Ruby Red DSP scraps (retired); Real Red, Whisper White & Cherry Cobbler CS; Red Glimmer Paper; Real Red & Versamark Inks; Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder; Starlight Thinlets; Layering Circle Framelits; White Sequins. Oh, funny, I just had my vintage leaves out earlier - glad I get to feature them again with What Would You Stamp #81! I'm going to add the colors from this weeks Global Design Project #53, AND, just for fun, toss in this fun sketch from Nacho Average Challenge #180! That's right, folks, a three-fer! For these colors, I definitely wanted to do some heat embossing! I hoped that gold embossed on Navy would look pretty striking, and I think I was right - cool effect! Other than that, I tried to keep this card fairly simple - not a lot of layers, simple details. Glad I got the chance to play with my metallic enamel shapes more, too! Vintage Leaves & Suite Sayings Stamp Sets; Affectionately Yours DSP; Whisper White, Gold Foil & Night of Navy CS; Gold Encore, Not Quite Navy & Watermelon Wonder Inks; Gold EP; Leaflet Framelits; Banner Triple Punch; Gold Enamel Shapes. We're excited to share some yummy colors over at Fab Friday #96 today! I'm using this week's sketch at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #288, too! Yes, I confess - I snuck in a tiny touch of Early Espresso, too, lol. I just had to! With these colors, I went straight for our gorgeous Moroccan DSP, and had some meditative time coloring my favorite paisley from Paisley's & Posies. Ahhh. I went further afield for my sentiment - I wanted something in a slightly more relaxed font - bringing me to Sheltering Tree. The sentiments from that set are pretty close to standbys for me, lol... I can't wait to see YOUR creations over at the challenge - I hope you join us! Paisleys & Posies and Sheltering Tree Stamp Sets; Moroccan DSP; Very Vanilla & Early Espresso CS; Early Espresso Ink; Emerald Envy & Delightful Dijon Markers; Banner Triple Punch; Perfect White Accents; Dijon Sharpie. So, I had totally figured that I would be doing something floral for this one, but the more I looked, the more I felt the call to the wild side, lol. After some digging, I realized I could make Glamper Greetings work - YES! And yes, my use of this set is my substitute for the cute little retro tow camper I've always wanted that hubby says will never happen, sob... If I ever do get one, I'll paint it for the tropics just like this one! I'm going to add in the colors from this week's Can You Case It #137, too! To make it extra exciting, I have arbitrarily decided that Wednesday is my unofficial Paper Pumpkin Day! It's looking like My Pumpkin Challenge isn't going to revive, but I still love it so I'm trying to do my Pumpkin part! That means bringing on Bold Botanicals today, AND trotting out some of my jealously guarded Lucky Limeade stash, lol. Chartreuse?! That was a tough one. In the end, I LOVE how this card came out - the sketch challenge stars were in alignment, and I would never have arrived here without them! So grateful for the "push!" Bold Botanicals Stamp Set; Smoky Slate, Lucky Limeade (retired), Melon Mambo & Whisper White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Melon Mambo Inks; Lucky Limeade Marker (retired); Melon Mambo Cotton Ribbon; Melon Mambo Candy Dots (retired); Layering Circles Framelits. Love the sketch at this week's Create With Connie & Mary #423, and can't wait to add the colors from In{k}spire Me #266! OK, I'm still trying to step up my game a little, and I can't decide if I've gone forward or backwards today, lol. Overall, I think I like the "wispiness" of all these Flourish thinlets together. And since I love purple and green together in pretty much any iteration, the overall color look pleases me, too... I'll take this one - yum! Gorgeous Grunge & Flourishing Phrases Stamp Sets; Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Emerald Envy, Rich Razzleberry & Pink Pirouette CS; Emerald Envy & Rich Razzleberry Inks; Flourish Thinlets; Large Oval & Scallop Oval Punches (retired); Pink Pirouette Candy Dots (retired); PL Corner Rounder Punch. Another pretty layout from Freshly Made Sketch #253 (or is it #252?) is on tap today! Yay! (I'm a little unsure what number it actually is, but all my links go to the right place, anyway, lol...) I'm also delighted to throw in the colors from Pals Paper Arts #317, too! So, I feel like I've been just a tiny bit lackluster here lately. Time to get back to basics and build from there, do you think? Not much better place to start than a bold blocky sketch and perfect complimentary colors. Now, turning leaves aren't something we see much of in Arizona {SOB}, but I can still make my own! Lovely! Sorry, I don't know what's up with me and pretty monotone colors this week, lol. I did notice, though! Anyway, back to a lovely navy spread - LOVE this sheet from the Affectionately Yours suite!
