Now, here's a stamp set I've been neglecting lately! I've been wanting to pair this nautical theme with the new World Map stamp, too, so today was the day! I envisioned this as a guy card, but with very subtle hints of sparing color, to go with the lovely open fields of this week's Paper Craft Crew #59 sketch... This week's sketch is amazing - you really could take it anywhere, as you can see from all the lovely samples from our design crew! Make sure you go check it out, and play along! The Open Sea, World Map & Express Yourself stamp sets; Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler & Whisper White CS; Basic Black, Crumb Cake & Night of Navy inks; Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine, Regals Candy Dots. I'm also excited to announce that there are two new photopolymer stamp sets available, and they're pretty cool! They're both being called "travel sets," but they could be SO much more! The first set, "Greetings From," has 19 little images and sentiment rings, that just look perfect for scrapping or some awesome movement cards. The other "Map It Out," is one I'm SUPER excited about! It has 64 stamps - woot! The main feature is the awesome US map stamp, with separate ones for Alaska and Hawaii, flag poles and banners, map markers, and a state abbreviation stamp for EVERY state. Oh my stars, the possibilities for this set are over the top, and when you combine it with Greetings From - woo, I could play with these for the rest of the year! Both stamp sets are only $13.95 each - a screamin' deal! Click on the image below for a full size flyer for each!

Is it Wednesday again already?? That means it's Pumpkin Day - yay! So, we're still working our My Pumpkin Challenge #913 - "Shapes", and I really wanted to bring my hexagon punch into play. Mm, honey, yummy! Sorry, I just felt like the yellows color scheme really belongs with the hexagons, and if you use yellows, well, you kinda have to throw in the black accents, right? Fun stuff! Make sure you join in the fun at My Pumpkin Challenge - can't wait to see what YOU come up with! August 2013 Paper Pumpkin - Pedal Praise; plus, Crushed Curry, So Saffron & Whisper White CS; Summer Starfruit, Crushed Curry & Daffodil Delight inks; Honeycomb embossing folder; Hexagon punch; Neutrals Candy Dots. This week's Clean & Simple #258 was a toughie for me, I don't mind saying! Mostly because I knew I did NOT want to use flowers, as shown in sketch - perverse, I know! I finally realized that maybe I could sub in the mosaic shape, which opened up that whole suite to me, too tempting not to try! I think it's prettier and sparklier in person, but hm, something does look odd about that block of DSP, sigh... Sweet Essentials & Mosaic Madness stamp sets; Whisper White , Pool Party & Strawberry Slush CS; Strawberry Slush, Pool Party & Daffodil Delight inks; Quatrefancy Specialty DSP; Modern Mosaic embossing folder; Mosaic & Corner Rounder punches; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. I really love this week's Freshly Made Sketch #103 - so elegant. It seemed perfect for something a bit "landscape-y" (is that a word? It should be!) I've been wanting to play with my trees for a bit now, and searching for a good matching horizontal sentiment brought me to this lovely quote from Psalms 55 - one of my favorites. I tried to keep this simple and understated - fresh and lovely, just like the sketch! Lovely As A Tree & Blessings From Heaven stamps sets; Soft Sky & Whisper White CS; Venetian Romance DSP; Pistachio Pudding, Midnight Muse & Basic Black inks; Neutrals Buttons; White Baker's Twine; Corner Rounder Punch. I so LOVE how this week almost ALL my sketch challenges paired up to be colors and sketches, like this last one for Sunday Stamps #58 & a new one from Nacho Average Challenge #54 ! I'm not sure that has ever worked out so well before! I really love this color combo - I'm using more and more Island Indigo these days... And of course, my Magnetic Platform makes me want to pull out all my sizzlet toys all the time, it makes it so quick and easy to use them! If you hadn't heard, it's available again for ordering - get it while you can! I don't know how I survived without mine anymore! Hello, Lovely stamp set; Pear Pizzazz, Island Indigo, Soft Suede & Whisper White CS; Island Indigo & Pear Pizzazz inks; Alphabet Press embossing folder; Finishing Touches edgelits; Label Card thinlets; Mistletoe Ribbon Originals (retired); Regal Candy Dots. Woo, I am SOOOO excited about this flippin' class! I have been playing with the awesome new Label Card and Circle Card thinlet sets for a couple weeks now to get ready, and my brain is still spinning out ideas! I had to hold myself back, so I don't scare you guys off these things. But seriously - they are AWESOME! You are so going to love these! After thinking it over while I played, I decided to make this class be a step-step-step-up class! That is, our first project will be the basic card, a take on the cutie shown on the flyer when the thinlets were first released. The second card is boosted a litle - shows you how to play with lengthening the card stock for an extra panel that gives you room for a super WOW factor I dreamed up for you! The last project is a mini "Flip Album," with panels strung together and decorated, just waiting for you to add your fave pictures and notes. I know I'm famous for NOT being a scrapbooker, but boy-howdy, I am so impressed with myself on this one! I'll have little pics in mine when you come to class, so you can see the possibilities! So, I hope I see you next week in class! Thursday, September 19, 630 am for evening, or Friday, September 20 at 10 am if you prefer day-time! Both classes chez Heroldt as usual, with snacks and treats, of course - RSVP now! See you soon! OK, did anyone else have the Berenstains' B Book when they were little?? The whole time I was making today's card for My Pumpkin Challenge's #913 "Shapes", I was singing in my head: "Big Brown Bear, Blue Bull, Beautiful Baboon blowing bubbles, biking backwards, BUMP!" Good times... Make sure to check out the team's other exciting creations, and play along yourselves, too! August 2013 Paper Pumpkin - Pedal Praise; plus, Marina Mist, Whisper White, Soft Sky, Coastal Cabana & Bermuda Bay CS; Basic Black & Marina Mist inks; 7/8" Square Punch; Neutrals Candy Dots. This has been a perfect week of pairs of sketch and color challenges - I love that! Today's pairing combines In{k}spire Me #112's unusual colors with Retro Sketches #80's angular layout. Seemed like a good time to pull out Gorgeous Grunge again for some more color play, lol, and I couldn't resist using a sentiment already the perfect shape for this sketch from Hello, Lovely. Quite a different look for me, but still a tad manly, even with that splash of pink, I think. Nifty! Hello, Lovely & Gorgeous Grunge stamp sets; Baked Brown Sugar, Midnight Must & Whisper White CS; Baked Brown Sugar, Midnight Muse, Early Espresso & Strawberry Slush inks; Early Espresso 1/4" Grosgrain; Neutrals Buttons Collection. Whew, that's an odd mouthful, eh?! Sorry, just couldn't resist the chance to combine sketch challenges again this week, and with it being Homecoming Sunday at church this week, I felt called to rootle through my scripture sets as well. Let's just say I think we all came boldly unto the throne of grace admirably yesterday - what a service! Thank you Freshly Made Sketch #102 and Fab Friday #26! Our Daily Bread "Lift Up Our Hands" stamp set; Sahara Sand, Tangerine Tango & Crushed Curry CS; Sweater Weather DSP; Chocolate Chip ink & 5/8" Satin Ribbon; Subtles Candy Dots; Ovals Collection Framelits. All I could think about for this week's Clean & Simple #257 was how to show that graceful curved edge in a different way other than adding paper or piercing to the bottom of the card. What if I could show that curve with a natural shape, make that the focus? I knew I could do it with the beautiful Sunflower image. I sized the card down to a square to make the proportions line up a bit better, and after a bit of coloring, left it pretty spare, just right for a sympathy card. I so rarely have these on hand when needed, but it seemed to fit... Sunflower & Loving Thoughts stamp sets; Crumb Cake & Whisper White CS; Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso & Black Staz-On inks; Basic Jewel Pearls; 7/8" Square punch, for flagging the banner. |
