This is my week off Paper Craft Crew, but I decided to play anyway - in 10 minutes flat! This week's sketch, Paper Craft Crew #53, really cried out to play with different shapes, so I went straight to my punches! I love the spring-y colors of this DSP, too, can you tell I'm tired of our second day of drizzle here?? Make sure to head out to Paper Craft Crew to check out the other awesome creations, and play along with us! Hello, Lovely stamp set; Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry, Wisteria Wonder & Very Vanilla CS & inks; Afternoon Picnic DSP; Pear Pizzazz Taffeta Ribbon; Very Vintage Designer Buttons; Decorative Label punch; Regals Candy Dots.

For this week's Retro Sketch #75, I decided it had been far too long since I made a scripture card, and it still looks a little sparse for that November craft show coming up! I also wanted to do something with feathers, both stamped and cut. One of our Make & Take projects at convention had us decorating a treat box with these cute feathers we snipped ourselves, and I wanted to do that again! I dressed them up even more with the stamp set, lol. I really wanted to show those things of natural beauty that He has created for us... Enjoy! Fine Feathers & ODB Scripture Collection 1; Smoky Slate, Calypso Coral, Soft Sky, So Saffron & Whisper White CS & inks; Woodgrain Embossing Folder; Subtles Designer Buttons; Calypso Coral Baker's Twine; 2 1/2" Circle punch, for the cut feathers. So, sigh, I've come across another sketch blog I wanted to try - and these gals got GAME! It's offered by a team of awesome German demonstrators, and the site really goes the distance to offer translations, too... So, here I am with In{k}spire Me's #107! Maybe I was also inspired by the blog's color scheme, but to start off today's card, I flipped through my trusty Color Coach, and found an interesting combo on the card for Strawberry Slush. I studied and played a little, and then added a hint of an extra splash of green with Pear Pizzazz. I think it looks a little subdued here, but in person it's surprisingly vibrant... Oh, Hello stamp set; Sahara Sand & Pear Pizzazz CS; Rich Razzleberry, Strawberry Slush, Pear Pizzazz & Baked Brown Sugar inks; 1/4" Grosgrain in Rich Razzleberry; Corner Rounder Punch; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. So, when we were toodling along on our way to Salt Lake City, we were astounded to spot a billboard for the kennel that our girls came from: Kanosh Labs. One side even had one of our Bella's litter pictures on it - we almost drove off the highway, lol! On the ride back, we needed to kill an extra hour before check-in in Cedar City, so on a whim we called the kennel, and Owen DeGraffenried was gracious enough to immediately invite us to stop by for a quick visit, even coming out to meet us to lead us back through the maze of farm roads. (YES, I checked the website to make sure they didn't have any chocolate girls ready to go first! You guys know how we are!) What a sweet visit - we even got to meet Sophie & Bella's mommy, Trixie! Owen had 3 litters of two week old puppies - o my stars, there were like 17 little chubbers - it was glorious! To thank him for a wonderful visit, I made Owen this card from this week's Clean & Simple #252. I've really been thinking a lot ever since about how much our lives are enriched by all our pets, and how much love we have for our chocolate harem here. Need a lab? We highly recommend Kanosh Labs! D Is For Dog (retired) stamp set; Whisper White, Raspberry Ripple, Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso & Chocolate Chip (of course!) CS; Early Espresso & Versamark ink; Chevron embossing folder; Chalk Talk framelits; Corner Rounder, Scallop Trim Border, Scallop Circle & 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punches; Neutrals Candy Dots. I loved this week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #97 - so much room fro hanging some Christmas ornaments! Yay! I strongly suspect that this will be one of the cards we make in this month's Christmas in August class on August 22 - a perfect combination of new and old holiday catalogs. Gee, what a perfect lead-in to this reminder: Woo hoo! The 2013 Holiday Catalog is now LIVE! You can view it online here! Let me know if you're ready to place an order, lol, made sure I got mine in at 6 am this morning! Ornament Keepsakes & Christmas Messages stamp sets; Crumb Cake, Whisper White & Early Espresso CS; Season of Style DSP; Cherry Cobbler, Island Indigo, Old Olive & Early Espresso inks; Linen Thread; Holiday Ornaments framelits; Silver & Red Glimmer Paper. I also couldn't resist sharing this totally cute picture that Jessica over at My Pumpkin Challenge put together for the announcement of our next challenge over there - Anything Goes! This was from the "well-dressed" dessert we had at Open House last week, lol. Even though I went pretty much straight up from the kit, for the "All Goes" challenge you can make ANYTHING at all - 3-D, scrap pages, cards, boxes, decor - you name it! AND, you can use ANY Paper Pumpkin kit, too, so bring out those leftover bits and bobs! Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with! This week's color challenge at Sunday Stamps #55 was a toughie - I had to play with this one all morning before I was satisfied! After all that, I really realized how well these colors go together - very refined... It was good to be able to play with more of my convention sets! Hello, Lovely & Mosaic Madness stamp sets; Baked Brown Sugar, Wisteria Wonder, Tempting Turquoise & Whisper White CS & inks; Modern Mosaic embossing folder; 7/8" & 1" Square punches; Baked Brown Sugar Stretch Ruffle Trim; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. And don't miss August's Best of Halloween set - woo! Check out that witch's hat! As always, just $14.95, plus your collections sticker for a free set of your choice!
