Our theme this round at As You See It #378 is "summer days!" What does this bring to mind for you? For me, I can't help but think of perfect sunny days at the beach, though I myself stay under cover, lol. That's why it's so awesome that we have these gorgeous umbrellas in the die set for our Rolling Waves bundle, and I'm FINALLY getting around to playing with them! I have to admit, the die design makes it really easy to generate lots of multicolored umbrellas really quickly - and even faster when you also use some adhesive sheets on the backs of the colors! I feel like this card shows my perfect relaxing day on the sand - ahhh! I can't wait to see what "summer days" brings to mind for YOU - meet you at the challenge! Rolling Waves Stamp Set & Dies; Waves of the Ocean DSP (retired); Basic White & Crumb Cake CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Crumb Cake Inks; Whale of a Time Sequins (retired); #AYSI378.

Ahhh, one of my favorite prompts! Inkspirational Challenge #372 is for Christmas in July! I took a little cruise through my retired shelves and came across 2014's Santa Stache bundle - such a classic! I went with the nutcracker captain today, he's so dapper, lol. I also opted to fussy cut the whole thing, rather than pop up that glorious 'stache! I put together a very straightforward layout for him, and at the last second, spot-lighted the background for him with my Stylish Shapes Circle die, since they were already out for the sentiment anyway, lol. I really like the look! A few Peppermint Dots and he is all set! Santa Stache Stamp Set (retired 2014); Take A Bow DSP (retired); Basic White & Real Red CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Real Red, Granny Apple Green, Old Olive, Gray Granite & Nude Blends Markers; Stylish Shapes Dies; Peppermint Dots; #IC372. So glad to play again at Merry Little Christmas #69 - always anything Christmas goes! This seems like the perfect time to break in my new Stitched Season suite - so nice to get fun Christmas sets so early! The Stitched Stocking stamp set and dies are pretty amazing - SO many option in the dies, for stockings and quilt squares both! I opted to show off a few quilt squares that I cut from the DSP, and then went over with a dies to add the stich and detail lines - works really well! I also love that our new Peaceful Pine color is jumping right into the holiday line - whew! I did my background in this, embossed in our old Quilt Top EF just because, lol. A few holly bunches, and one of our Mini Christmas Buttons was all I needed to finish! Stitched Stocking Stamp Set & Dies; A Stitched Season DSP; Basic White, Peaceful Pine, Real Red & Old Olive CS; Peaceful Pine Ink; Quilt Top EF (retired); Mini Christmas Button; White Baker's Twine; #MLCCB69. Ah ha! Time for another tic-tac-toe challenge at Retro Rubber #277! After a little digging around, I went with the top row: Sparkle, Embossing and Die Cut! I really wanted to do Christmas (never too early!) and came across my old Poinsettia Petals bundle from 2022 - the petal dies also have an embossing piece - perfect! I pulled together this simple but classic background with our Distressed Gold Paper and some scraps of Traditions of Christmas. Then I built my Cherry Cobbler poinsettia, cutting and embossing in one swoop! I added this elegant sentiment from the stamp set, then pulled in my "sparkle" with my Traditional Sparkling Sequins in Gold! I'm really happy with how well it came out! I can't wait to see YOUR play on our board - and don't forget to make it Retro! Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set (retired 2022); Traditions of Christmas DSP; Basic White, Old Olive, Distressed Gold & Cherry Cobbler CS; Cheery Cobbler Ink; Poinsettia & Seasonal Labels Dies (retired); Traditional Sparkling Sequins in Gold (retired); #RRCB277. We're calling out for all things wedding or love related at this round of Make My Monday #283! I decided to try for a wedding card when I spotted this "sending happiness" sentiment in our July Product of the Month stamp set, Begonia Belle! It definitely a cutie, and since I don't have any begonias, I decided to spring for it! I'm not sure how much like begonias the flowers look, but the two-step stamping is always fun, and leaves DEFINITELY look begonia to me, lol. Anyway, I CASed this one a little bit from the Mother Ship, for a trio of yellow ones, and a few leaves tucked in - I think it came out very sweet! I can't wait to see YOUR wedding or love projects this round, too - meet you at the challenge! Begonia Belle Stamp Set; Basic White, Daffodil Delight & Lemon Lolly CS; Daffodil Delight & Granny Apple Green Inks; Stylish Shapes Dies; Daffodil Delight 1/8" Satin Ribbon; Clear Gold Glitter Gems; #MMM283. Nice! Check out our square sketch this round at Sunday Stamps #391! I actually don't do a lot of square cards - the main reason is envelopes! Unless I make it a tiny 4 1/4" square to fit in a regular envelope, hm. You know what? I DO have an envelope punch board, I'll just MAKE one, and I'll go to the full 5 1/2" square! Once I made those choices, I pulled in my awesome new Fun For Fall bundle - such an adorable scarecrow! I even gave him one of the crows - guess he's not scary enough, lol. I did a nice large embossed panel with my also-new Textured Tree Ring EF, figuring I would use a sheet of Country Woods DSP for my envelope! It all came together perfectly! I hope you'll come "be square" with us, lol - meet you at the challenge! Fun For Fall Stamp Set & Dies; Country Woods DSP (envelope); Basic White, Early Espresso & Crumb Cake CS; Early Espresso Ink; Darling Duckling, Mossy Meadow, Pecan Pie, Misty Moonlight, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake & Basic Black Blends; Deckled Rectangles Dies (retired); Textured Tree Ring EF; Darling Duckling Flat Pearls; Envelope Punch Board; #SSC391. Aw, sweet! Shopping Our Stash #578 wants to see popsicle colors this round! Yum! Looking at the picture, I had a little recollection that we had a stamp for stripey popsicles... I dug deep, and found it in my Paper Pumpkin collection - this is the April 2021 set, So Cool! I also remembered that there were some sprinkle backgrounds in that old candy jar DSP, a little more digging unearthed my little stash of How Sweet It Is, which I pulled this purple polka dot sheet from - somehow it all works, in a salt water taffy kind of way, lol. I pulled lots of Blends Markers to play with for coloring my popsicles, straight off the inspo pic - looks juicy! Paper Pumpkin So Cool Stamp Set (retired-April 2021); How Sweet It Is DSP (retired); Basic White & Strawberry Slush CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Strawberry Slush Inks; Crumb Cake, Summer Splash, Barely Blush, Fresh Freesia, Pretty in Pink, Lemon Lolly, Shy Shamrock, Strawberry Slush & Flirty Flamingo Blends Markers; Strawberry Slush Flat Pearls; #SOS578. Just gorgeous - check out these yummy bright colors at AAA Cards #319! Gotta keep it CAS, though! I dug around for something cute, lol, and came up with Cutest Crew - all these critters are adorable! I went with the little trio of birds, just right for these colors! I stacked them over this fun greeting, I think they were made for each other! Then I finished with a few yellow dots, because I can never resist embellies, lol. Very CAS, very quick, and very cute - love it! Cutest Crew Stamp Set; Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Flirty Flamingo & Melon Mambo Blends Markers; Low Profile Sparkle Dots in Daffodil Delight; #AAA319. Oh yes - check out the little party umbrellas at First Cup Challenge #16! While it doesn't have any of those cute hurricane glasses, our retired Cheers & Sips bundle DOES have drink umbrellas! I pulled together this summery little collection of glasses from the DSP, Celebratory Sips, and added an umbrella to the center glass. I think it looks very fresh and beachy! This paper is SO fun to play with, and I even snuck in the little Glass embossing folder, too! Cheers & Sips Stamp Set & Dies (retired); Celebratory Sips DSP (retired); Basic White & Strawberry Slush CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Strawberry Slush Blends Marker; Glass EF (retired); Large Oval Punch (retired); White Shimmering Dots; #FCC16. So fun - NBUS #88 is a special salute to the many crafting companies that support our stampin' habits! So nice! I decided to pull out 2025's You Are Remarkable stamp set - and of course, there's a tale, lol. I spotted some of the sentiments for this beauty on Splitcoast, from someone who was looking to ID the stamp set. With a little sleuthing, I was able to ID the set, but somehow, I didn't have it myself! I was like DANG! Those are awesome sentiments, though! So off to eBay I went, sigh. Not sure how I missed this set when it came out, probably annoyance that there are no dies? Who needs dies?? Still not sure, but also, see the little bee?? Sa-WEET! Had to have it! So this is the official breaking in of an already retired set, which looks awesome in some fresh new colors! And this is why I try not to look around TOO much at all the fabulous stuff out there, lol. You Are Remarkable Stamp Set (retired 2025); Basic White & Hydrangea Hue CS; Smoky Slate, Hydrangea Hue, Golden Glow & Granny Apple Green Inks; Golden Glow Blends Marker; Spotlight on Nature Dies; Hydrangea Hue Dots; #NBUS88. |
