 Our sketch looks all buttoned up this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #516! I think it will go great with our Christmas in July theme at this week's SU Only #280, too! Today I have another upcoming set to show off - this one is called Bright Baubles, and features two over-size ornaments to riff off of. Wait til you see the dies for it! As usual when I debut a set, I went with a simpler approach, with lots of coloring, lol, and also added in a sheet of our upcoming SAB paper, Peaceful Prints. So many goodies ahead! I finished off my ornament with lots of tiny rhinestones for a little flash... I can't wait to see YOUR projects for our challenges this week - see you there!  Oo, look at this fun sketch that Retro Rubber #162 has for us this week! Love it! Now, I think everyone who knows me knows how much I love my shelves of retirement, lol. A quick glance at my blog history shows that I often approach HALF my blog posts being with retired stamps or toys, lol. So I have a sincere delight in this particular challenge blog (no, I'm NOT sucking up, I swear!) BUT, there's one day a year that I feel a little pang playing here, like I did today.  Excellent - CAS Christmas has a poinsettia challenge for us this month! Lucky for me, I even have a still-current stamp set to use in our gorgeous Poinsettia Petals! At first, I went to town, and made all these layered stacks of petal shapes, colored 'em up, added leaves - and then, I remembered! This is a CAS challenge, oops! So now I have various size ready-made flowers in my stamp box, and I pared back to one nice, that hopefully is CAS enough for going on with, lol. Now that I look at it, I should have gone with a smaller one probably, lol. Oh well, I still love the brushy look of my coloring - my grandma's fave kind were the peppermint stripe ones, and that's what I was going for! Today's challenge gave me chance to play with an idea I've been kicking around ever since our 21-22 Catalog came out - could I make a bendi with the gorgeous dies from Inspiring Canopy? What you see is the result of my tinkering! It was a bit of a wing and a prayer figuring out how to work the slots in to for the tiny tabs, not to mention the clean-up on a partially cut tree-scape, as I tried to figure out how to make the ground below the trees "wider," lol. What a job! I promise, the sentiment is very visible in person, it's just that the final challenge here was photographing this one! Whew! I can't wait to see YOUR bendi projects this week - meet you at the challenge! But you do get a little taste of the gorgeous sentiments that come with it - not just another tree set at all! I love the simple sincerity that shines through here, and I couldn't resist a few tiny stars from last year's All The Trimmings embellies, instead of the sweet stars in the stamp set, shhh...
