 LOVE this week's color challenge over at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration #CC52 - cool blues rule! Studying these colors, I realized that I could do a little "vase landscape,"and mix and match all the colors in a fun way, but that also made sense for the subject matter. Goodness, that sounded stilted, but do you know what I mean? Like, yesterday's flying piggy might have had a tough time today, lol. Stamping and punching was a speedy snap with my punch template on hand, then I got to just switch all my colors around and play. I also decided that a little extra sparkle might be in order, and I think the blue sequins in the Brights mix are really Pacific Point, so there we are! I REALLY like how this came out!  Sketchin' on the slant this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #372! What's your angle? Lol. Today is a pig day for me, with This Little Piggy coming out to play! I kept bright Spring-y colors front and center, with lots of shimmer and sparkle, too. "cause that's what pigs do - get their glimmer on, lol. I started with this flowery sheet from the pearly Share What You Love collection - not sure why this color is so hard to match - it seems not quite Grapefruit to me. Lemon Lime Twist seemed like a fun color to combine with, especially with my striped ribbon! A little glitter on the wings and she's ready to fly! Can't wait to see YOUR creations! For today's card, I decided to go looking for a "celebrate" sentiment I hadn't really played with yet. Bunch of Blossoms definitely qualifies, lol. I was so excited when I got this set (a coordinating punch - woo hoo!) but then somehow, I never really connected with it, sigh. Kind of a surprise - I'm the fiddly queen usually, and this set has 10 different ways to build every petal and leaf, lol - maybe that's the problem! There's also a catty sample showing a new petal configuration - had to try that, along with a mango-blackberry color combo. Maybe a little too much of a CASE, and I don't love it as much as I though I would, but I'd try a second date with these colors for sure, lol. A day of experiments! I actually dithered for a bit over what stamp set to use, lol - FINALLY I settled on my beloved Bubble Over - how could the fizzies not make you happy?? I was also excited to use my new Neutrals DSP stack - adding some extra bubbles, lol. I assembled my colored bottles, with straws today, and had some fun building my labels, and adding some condensation with my little clear epoxy dots. Just a fun time - I always feel so cheery after playing with this set! I finally settled on my retired Pleasant Poppies background stamp, and paired it with a lovely sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet. Once I got going, I realized I wanted to do a couple "spots" and in the end I colored over my sentiment, too, to match the background of the two color spots. I love the off-edge effect of the largest circle! What a fun afternoon! I had to really hunt for a set I could use for this challenge, lol - getting ready to send my bug away to uni, I haven't really focused on LITTLE kid stuff for a few years, lol. You don't want to miss it!  There's a fun "frame" challenge at this weeks AAA #118 - cool! I felt totally inspired by the feature card by Shery - sort of a play on "spot-lighting" - I HAD to try it! I started by going digging for a stamp-able frame, and found it in my retired Sophisticated Serifs set. Nest up, I wanted some pretty lie-art that I could overlap and color in approriately, and since I was already over at the retired shelves, I grabbed my beloved Growing Green. I finished with a cute get well sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings - love this font. I did my coloring with an aqua-painter, and decided to pop up my little flower on dimensionals - it was ALMOST a one-layer card, lol! Since we're on the slant anyway, yuk-yuk, I decided to make it worse and turn my sketch, too! This gave me room for the big billboard shape I can use in the Broadway Birthday suite - woo woo! I even tried my hand at the dotted sentiments - the two larger sentiments each have a two-step stamp to add "bling" to your big word. It worked like a charm - photopolymer makes it so easy to line up! I also got to take this cake sheet out for air - I have to think of ways to show it off more! See you at the challenge! You don't want to miss it!  July starts us off with our month long technique challenge over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday - and this month it's paper tearing! My favorite thing to do with paper tearing is to do layers of color gradations - so dramatic for so little effort, lol. I always try and finish on a paler color or white so I can add my sentiment at the last. In this case, this sentiment from Colorful Seasons has become such a fave - and looks great with my blue gradated "ocean!" Notice my use of all our "water" colors, lol?? Layering takes on a whole new dimension with the addition of the torn edge - so much fun! Can't wait to see YOU tearing it up, over at the challenge!
