So cute - check out this happy little sketch at this week's Nacho Average Challenge #149! As I was browsing for shapes to use for this sketch, I kept returning to our beloved Festival of Trees set - the only set I DIDN'T use in our just completed Christmas in July classes, lol. So, it gets to come out now! I kind of piled on the details - oopsie! Have I said yet today how much I love the new Merry Moments DSP? A sheet for every occasion! Festival of Trees Stamp Set; Merry Moments DSP; Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler & Whisper White CS; Mossy Meadow, Old Olive & Cherry Cobbler Inks; Sheer Linen Trim in Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow Striped Satin Ribbon; Gold Sequin Trim; Tree & Banner Punches.

Welcome to another FABULOUS Friday! I'm so excited about this week's sketch Fab Friday #68 - time to try some firsts! So, I switched the elements of the sketch around a little - I put the image in the focal center, and the sentiment off on the corner - I'm such a rebel, lol. I floated it all over a first for me - edge-to-edge DSP as my card base! This is where the awesome new heavy Whisper White CS comes in super handy - I have no qualms about the sturdiness of this card, whew. And even though it;s a little hard to see, I also played with my Gold Metallic Thread for the first time, too. LOVE this stuff - I think it's more like a monofilament then a spun thread - it doesn't get any weird kinks or ravels in it even when you beat up on it a bit (thank goodness!) Butterfly hint: our awesome new Bold Butterfly framelits include the outline for the body between the wings - stamp the body AFTER you cut out the wing arrangement, so you don't place it too high or too low! Watercolor Wings Stamp Set; English Garden DSP; Heavy & Regular Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Old Olive & Pear Pizzazz CS; Hello Honey, Blushing Bride, Soft Suede & Mossy Meadow Inks; Circles Collection & Bold Butterfly Framelits; 1 3/4" Circle Punch; Gold Metallic Thread. Christmas in July Class! It's the most wonderful time of the year! Yay! OK, can you tell how excited I am that we got Christmas back in the "Big Book?" The very best thing this means is that we get to bring back our Christmas in July class - your chance to start thinking about your Christmas cards! Check out our little sneak peak! Class is still on for Saturday, July 11 at 3 pm. Class will feature 6 cards for $25, and includes all your supplies, snacks and drinks, and a party favor from me! RSVP today to save your spot, or let me know if you'd like to have a make-up class if these times don't suit! What to do with this week's paneled layout from Can You Case It #77? Let's go a little fruity, shall we? As soon as I saw this lovely paper in the Farmer's Market DSP, I knew I wanted to pair it up with the pear shape in the Silhouettes & Script stamp set - a match made in the market, lol! In the spirit of full disclosure, I several times attempted to "rock and roll" the stamp in Mossy Meadow, too, but it just was NOT working for me today. So I settled for hand-cutting a little layer of CS behind the image to try and get some contrast going... Silhouettes & Script Stamp Set; Farmers Market DSP; Hello Honey, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow & Very Vanilla CS; Hello Honey & Blackberry Bliss Inks; Gold Baker's Twine. Christmas in July Class! I'm so glad we're back again at My Pumpkin Challenge #0715 - Share a Smile - we definitely need more of those in the world today! Today I decided to go digging through my Pumpkin Stash, and do some housecleaning, lol. I have made up a BIG grab bag of Pumpkin Guts for my scrap bag stack - it was so nostalgic looking over all my bits and bobs! My leavings were starting to take over - time for retirement, lol! While I hunted through all the goodies, I pulled out a couple items I thought I'd use today - hard to go wrong with this sentiment sheet from our Seriously Amazing Kit, floated over a scrap from a cannibalized bag from Birthday Bundle. I think I did one tiny bit for the clean team today, lol... Can't wait to see YOUR smiles over at the challenge - see you there! Seriously Amazing, Birthday Bundle & Happy Thoughts Paper Pumpkins; plus, Memento Tuxedo Black, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight & Calypso Coral Inks; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. RSVP today to save your spot, or let me know if you'd like to have a make-up class if these times don't suit! OK, I think Stampin' Up! demonstrators have a psychic bond sometimes. All over the world, lol - as evidenced by this week's color challenge at SU-per Challenge #96! Yup, this is hands down my fave combo of this year's In Colors! Think I'll match it up with this week's slanty Retro Sketch #171! So, I'm really working on clearing my stack of new stamps, and letting everyone get a little inky! Today was Vintage Leaves' turn, lol. I hoped that these colors would make it look less autumn-inspired, and I had to pull out my Endless Thanks set again, too, for the sentiment - I just love all the little combos we could do, even though I've so far stuck to this one, lol. For some reason my Pretty Print embossing folder is getting a workout these days, too - yay! Vintage Leaves & Endless Thanks Stamp Sets; Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder & Whisper White CS; Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder & Tip Top Taupe Inks; Pretty Print Embossing Folder; Leaflets Framelits; Dotted Lace Trim in Mint Macaron; Basic Jewel Rhinestones. Check out the yummy PURPLE color challenge at this week's In{k}spire Me #205! **SWOON!* For all that purple is totally my favorite color, I went a little understated here. Frames and touches of my lovelies over textured white really stands out! I've been wanting to ink up my sweet new Endless Thanks set, too - check out the gorgeous new banner shape we get to play with, too! Yum! Endless Thanks Stamp Set; Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder & Elegant Eggplant CS; Blackberry Bliss, Wisteria Wonder & Elegant Eggplant Inks; Pretty Print Embossing Folder. Christmas in July Class! Today I'm playing with this week's color challenge from Create With Connie and Mary #362, too - a touch of patriotic! A stamp set I've been itching to play with gets to finally come out today - Get Well Soup. I really like the way the sentiment is a swirly part of the image, and the image leaves some room for some creative fussy cutting for playing with dimension - yay! Oh shoot, you know what? I just realized that I used Tip Top Taupe instead of Crumb Cake - oops! Oh well - still yummy! The only OTHER difficulty I had was what to do with the envelope - I just can't abide a naked envie, lol. I finally dug out my old Morning Cup stamp set, that has a mug that goes with this set pretty well... Get Well Soup & Morning Cup (retired-on envelope) Stamp Sets; Lost Lagoon, Real Red, Whisper White & Tip Top Taupe CS; Basic Black, Lost Lagoon, Real Red & Tip Top Taupe Inks; Corner Rounder Punch. I LOVE the cool and gorgeous color challenge at this week's Just Add Ink #269 - make sure you go check out the design team's samples - beautiful! I decided I wanted to try to go simpler than I usually do, and I flipped through my catalog for inspiration on the layout. I found it in the sweet birthday card on page 7 - what a pared down way to show off these colors! So I updated the colors and altered the details slightly - so hard to not go back and add more! Still, I love this simple card, AND the colors, lol. Endless Birthday Wishes Stamp Set; Sweet L'il Things DSP; Soft Sky CS; Watercolor Paper; Basic Black, Versamark, Lost Lagoon & Tip Top Taupe Inks; White Tea Lace Doilies; Striped Satin Ribbon in Lost Lagoon; Blossom Accent in Tip Top Taupe. Let's try and include this cool and summery color challenge from this week's Nacho Average Challenge #148! So, the style of this sketch is PERFECT for showing off a color challenge, I discovered. I kept it really simple and clean, though I did decide to go landscape so I could accommodate this big beautiful sentiment from one of our new hostess sets, Happy Birthday, Everyone. These colors are so yummy! I tried to keep this pared down enough that I think you could give this to a guy OR a girl... Happy Birthday, Everyone Stamp Set; Cherry on Top DSP stack; Whisper White & Basic Black CS; Watermelon Wonder Inks; Elegant Dots Embossing Folder; Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine; Brights Button in Bermuda Bay. RSVP today to save your spot, or let me know if you'd like to have a make-up class if these times don't suit! Oo, I love the arrangement of layers in this week's Retro Sketch #170! This seems like a great chance to try out a new challenge on the block, too (you know what a sucker for that I am, lol) - Stamp, Ink, Paper #3's color challenge! AND, something I rarely do, let's try and parley a third challenge this week: Merry Monday #165's challenge to use candles and flowers! Whew! A tall order! I've been itching to use my new Christmas set Every Blessing for almost a month now, lol - I had hoped to also be using the truly lovely silhouette image that goes with it, too, but alas, that's not the challenges we are finagling today, giggle. I decided to use the sentiment at least, and make up some candles to go with instead. I thought I'd sneak in some curry colors for the candle flames, but decided instead to go with the silver glitter for some touches of sparkle instead! Mission accomplished, I think! PS. I don't know if I've mentioned this before, BUT, I have totally converted to the new Thick Whisper White card stock we now have for all my white card bases - YES! So whenever you see a white card base, that is the new product - p 149, #140272, $7 for 24 sheets. Every Blessing & Build A Birthday Stamp Sets; Whisper White, Real Red, Bermuda Bay & Smoky Slate CS; Real Red, Bermuda Bay & Smoky Slate Inks; Silver Glitter; Elegant Dots Embossing Folder; Itty Bitty Flower Punch; Neutrals Candy Dots in White; 1/8" Real Red Taffeta.
