I found this week's Retro Sketch #71 to be a bit of a challenge - and when I feel that, out come the chickens! There's no sketch that can't stand a little cluck, and best of all, it means I get to color! (I LOVE my markers!) I think I get called back to this retired set a little more than usual because our new hexagon embossing folder seems just MADE for it, lol. Plus, there can never be too much cluck. Best of Cluck & Chicken Wire stamp sets (both retired); Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler & Crushes Curry CS; Basic Black, Real Red, Crushed Curry & Gumball Green inks; White Gel Pen; Natural Trim Ribbon; Linen Thread; Designer Naturals buttons; Hexagon embossing folder; Finishing Touches edgelits.

So, my scripture card box has been pretty thin for a bit now - I keep getting raided, lol! Clean & Simple #248 seems to be continuing their run of layouts that really seem to work out for me to keep on restocking! I couldn't resist sneaking in some more of my beloved Coastal Cabana, either. I love this quote as well - much as I would sometimes wish otherwise, He chooses His own time for us and our lives, doesn't He? Wish I did a better job remembering that! Betsy's Blossoms & ODB Scripture Collection 1 stamp sets; Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Crumb Cake & Early Espresso CS; Circles Collection Framelits; Corner Rounder & Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punches; Neutrals Candy Dots; Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder. You know, layouts like the one at this week's Fresh Made Sketches #93 are pretty much what started my sketch challenge addiction. There's just so much room to do so many different things! So easy to dress up, or dress down! And I am blown away by how different ALL the samples submitted are - you really have to go check it out! Seriously, I think this was the blog that started it all for me, and now I might need therapeutic intervention, lol... Enjoy! Spec-tacular & Happy Day stamp sets; Cherry Cobbler & Very Vanilla CS; Modern Medley DSP; Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon; Regals Candy Dots. This week's simple and lovely design from Retro Sketch #70 really cried out for flowers, I thought, so I obliged! I haven't played enough with this stamp set, and since it comes with its own set of framelits, that really is criminal, lol. I'm really loving pairing these colors together, too - so spring-y and soft. Secret Garden & Sweet Essentials stamp sets; Whisper White & Pistachio Pudding CS; Basic Black. Pistachio Pudding & Crisp Cantaloupe inks; Secret Garden framelits; Crisp Cantaloupe Stretch Ruffle Ribbon; Subtles Candy Dots. I'm sure everyone remembers me whining earlier this year about how I mourned some of my retired stamp sets that I didn't use as much as I had planned. It was that thought that had me pulling out A Fitting Occasion for this week's Sunday Stamps #53 - a stamp set that I've had for more than a year, and used maybe ONE time, when it actually made the cut to the new catty! Well, ain't gonna be no grass growing under this set again, let me tell you! This week's color challenge was the perfect way to break it back in, for a fun and simple birthday card. Can never have too many of those! A Fitting Occasion stamp set; Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight CS & inks, plus Whisper White CS; Scallop Oval, Modern Label, 1" & 1 1/2" Circle punches; Brights Candy Dots. OK, I decided it was time for another Pumpkin Color Challenge, and of course, I had to cheat a little - is Silver Sparkle a color, exactly? I don't know, but the Pumpkin felt like blinging it up today! I also decided to give the cute little window punch-outs on the card base a try - it really adds some great dimension, though I guess there's maybe not much room for writing a love note inside the card - oops! Be sure to stop by My Pumpkin Challenge for more great Pumpkin inspiration! June 2013 Paper Pumpkin - "Hello To You"; plus, Silver Glimmer Specialty DSP; Silver embossing powder; Basic Jewel Rhinestones; Small Heart punch. This week's Fab Friday #21 gave me a chance to crack open my cool new DSP pack, Modern Medley. It has all these really dramatic papers, all in Basic Black and Very Vanilla - more of an elegant twist than just regular black and white, I think. I tried to do a bit of lightening up with it, and add even more elegant lines... Enjoy! Daydream Medallions, Happy Day & Four Frames stamp sets; Very Vanilla, Basic Black & Smoky Slate CS; Modern Medley DSP; Basic Gray, Sahara Sand & Smoky Slate inks; Squares Collection framelits; Essentials Hardware Clips; Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon; Jumbo Basic Jewel Rhinestone. EEE - isn't the June Paper Pumpkin - "Hello To You" - the cutest? We are really going for the honeycomb/hexagon shape these days at SU!, lol... That said, I am so excited to tell you that I was invited to join the My Pumpkin Challenge inspiration team - woot! I'll do my best to live (and create) up to the excellent company that puts me in! Woot again! Anyway, this month's Pumpkin Challenge is kind of a color one - introduce new colors to your Pumpkin creations. Now that's my kinda challenge! For my first card, I decided that it lacked a little something in the spectrum, so I added TWO colors - Pear Pizzazz and Perfect Plum. What a fruit that would make: Pumpkin-Pear-Plum, sounds like a fine wine! Make sure to hop out to My Pumpkin Challenge for more awesome inspiration on your My Paper Pumpkin kits! Paper Pumpkin "Hello To You" kit; plus Pear Pizzazz & Perfect Plum inks; Pear Pizzazz Stitched Poly ribbon (retired): scraps of Whisper White & Pear Pizzazz CS; Subtles Candy Dots.
