Wanderlust Swap

For my final swap, I really wanted to step outside my comfort zone - this is kind of a strange one for me!  There were a few products left that I wanted to get the chance to showcase, like a photopolymer stamp set, and the Simply Pressed Clay.  What a job!  The corners of all the stamps I chose were so rounded, I felt like I had to round all the corner elements on the card - 16 for every single one of 52 cards!  Argh!  My Corner Rounder punch has flames coming out of it now, lol...
I hope you've enjoyed these swap cards, it was really fun to think of people's faces while I was building them, and drooling over the loot I'm bringing back in exchange!  See you all next week at the open house, Thursday, July 25, 630 pm - don't forget to RSVP to let me know you'll be there!
Wanderlust stamp set; Pistachio Pudding, Soft Suede & Very Vanilla CS; Venetian Romance DSP; Pistachio Pudding, Tangerine Tango, Crumb Cake & Island Indigo inks; Alphabet Press embossing folder; Corner Rounder & 1 1/2" Circle punches; Simply Pressed Clay; Buttons & Blossoms Simply Pressed Molds; Dazzling Diamonds glitter; Cotton Twine.

Six-Sided Swap

I know that if you are a careful reader of this blog, you might actually have seen this card already - I designed it for our last class, to go with the Rosette Wreaths in case we burned through making them at a 100 miles an hour.  Well, that didn't happen, and we're saving it for a make and take at the open house after I get back, but I KNEW I wanted to take it for a swap too!  It's a Coastal Cabana base, so how could I not, right?  You haven't lived til you've had 1000 different colored hexagons all over your desk - it was almost as bad as all those little birds I cut out at Christmas, lol...
Don't forget to RSVP for the 2013 Convention Open House, Thursday, July 25, 630 pm, chez Heroldt!  So many awesome things to see and share!
Six-Sided Sampler stamp set; Coastal Cabana & Whisper White CS; Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana, Basic Black & Smoky Slate inks; Hexagon & ¾3/4” Circle punches; Hexagon embossing folder (on envelope); Bitty Banner framelits; Jumbo Basic Jewel Pearl.

Chalk Talk Swap

Here's my second swap card - using my beloved Coastal Cabana, of course!  I love this stamp set so much, and the awesome framelits that go with, too, of course.  I can't tell you how overwhelming it was to have 50 of these tags stacked up on my desk while I prepped all the pieces - I'm thinking I'll need to do these in Christmas colors for the holidays, too!
Working with the Smoky Slate, I'm finding that it really has a silvery quality - it really does almost read as a metallic paper.  Very cool.
Finally, to answer a question I received, NO, I did not include envelopes with all my swaps!  I made one for the card I kept for myself, to photograph for you all!  Remember my mantra - NO NAKED ENVELOPES!
Off this morning for a home office tour with my wing-girl - we can't wait!  Then, opening session tonight - woo hoo!  I was amused to read in my horrible-scope this morning that I am advised to not try to do too much today

Chalk Talk stamp set; Smoky Slate, Whisper White & Crushed Curry CS; Eastern Elegance DSP; Coastal Cabana & Crushed Curry inks; Needlepoint Border embossing folder; Chalk Talk Framelits; 1" Square punch (for flagging the DSP strips); Basic Jewel Rhinestones.

Ta daaaa!  Here's my first swap for Convention 2013 - so fun!  I tried to really maximize my little touches, so that even though it's a fairly simple layout, there are some added perks - like color, bling and dimension!  That should be my mantra!
Notice how I snuck in a green and purple combo?
Today is my first convention event - an awesome class on cool techniques by someone further up my upline - bringing back some neat tricks!
Tape It & Yippee-Skippee stamp sets; Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple, Whisper White & Old Olive CS; Crumb Cake, Perfect Plum, Old Olive, Raspberry Ripple & Blushing Bride inks; Chalk Talk framelits; Corner Rounder punch; Jumbo Rhinestone Jewels; Chevron embossing folder (on envelope.)

Time for another edition of My Pumpkin Challenge, with a pop of color!  I can't seem to stay away from adding Pear Pizzazz to this kit - it just seems like such a natural addition!  This time, I also threw in some Pool Party, with a touch of Smoky Slate...  I also pulled in a stamp from an earlier kit, too - Pumpkins like to play together!  May sure to jump out to My Pumpkin Challenge for more awesome inspiration!

June 2013 Paper Pumpkin - Hello to You; plus, Pear Pizzazz, Smoky Slate & Pool Party CS; Pear Pizzazz & Smoky Slate inks; March 2013 Paper Pumpkin Stamp - Hey There; Corner Rounder Punch.

OK, Retro Sketches #72 caught me on the way out the door for Salt Lake City on Sunday morning, so here's one last quick Christmas in July card for the road!
As soon as I saw the sketch, I couldn't resist pulling in a few more awesome Holiday Catty goodies, while still keeping it pretty simple.  (On the way out the door, remember??  5 minutes flat!)  I started out using some of the cute new holiday washi tape, but for this card, it was just a touch too busy - I really wanted to highlight the sentiment, made using the awesome new thinlit dies!  Can't wait for you all to try these - they are SO elegant!
Wonderful Wreath stamp set; Sahara Sand, Early Espresso, Whisper White & Cherry Cobbler CS; Old Olive ink; Corner Rounder Punch; Expressions Thinlits; Frosted Finishes Adornments; Basic Jewel Rhinestones.

OK, I can't take it anymore - I HAVE to do a Christmas card in July!  I'm already thinking about what I want to do for my "house" card, and then the two boards I serve on - three designs this year - yay!  That's the plus about volunteering - all the fun cards I get to make!
So, this week's Clean & Simple #249 is this year's Christmas kick-off for me.  I also wanted to make sure I combined something from this year's upcoming Holiday catty (I have yours for you at the Post-Convention Open House on July 25!) and one of last year's favorite sets.  I so can't wait for you guys to see all the new goodies!

Lovely As A Tree, Ornament Keepsakes & Christmas Messages stamp sets; Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz, Cherry Cobbler, Sahara Sand & Very Vanilla CS; Versamark, Island Indigo, Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz & Early Espresso inks; Pretty Print embossing folder; Holiday Ornaments Framelits; Large Scallop Edgelit.

This week's color challenge from Fab Friday #22 is so striking!  And a great follow-up to July 4 - love it!  I decided I wanted to play some more with the awesome new Tape It stamp set - so many possibilities for this one, I think this might be my favorite so far from the new catty...
I had to take a little license and add some hand-cut candle flames in yellow, but hopefully I can get away with that!
I'm almost all packed for Convention - I have blog updates waiting for most days while I'm gone - I've been super busy!  I can't wait to share my swaps with you, too!
Tape It & Perfectly Penned stamp sets; Basic Grey, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise & Daffodil Delight CS; Brights & Neutrals Candy Dots; Corner Rounder Punch.

Yay - Holiday Catalog pre-order is HERE!  New toys and stamps to play with!  This week's Freshly Made Sketches #94 was just right for trying out some of my new goodies.
This Burlap Ribbon is SO cool!  However, I found that I was happiest with keeping it where I wanted it when I used Sticky Strip to hold it down - whew!  I had fun building my own background paper, too - how does Stampin' Up! always seem able to make the dimensions work out just right?
Truly Grateful stamp set; Naturals Ivory, Soft Suede & Early Espresso CS; Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, Baked Brown Sugar & Crumb Cake inks; 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon; Corner Rounder Punch.

Wow, I had a tough time with this week's Paper Craft Crew Challenge #50!  I think I find it a challenge to combine Ovals and Circles in an artful way - I feel like this might be this year's kitchen sink card!  Even so, it's still gratifying for me to see how beautifully all the different colors and elements come together in a final piece - the result of what a great job SU! does at putting together our color suites!  Make sure to jump over to Paper Craft Crew to check out all the other gorgeous creations!
Perfectly Penned stamp set; Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar, Crushed Curry & Very Vanilla CS; Coastal Cabana ink; Afternoon Picnic DSP; Occasions Piercing Pack; Ovals Collection framelits; Baked Brown Sugar Stretch Ruffle Ribbon; Boutique Details Embellishments; Basic Jewel Pearls; Subtles Buttons.
