 This month Stamping Pals #16 has a great challenge for us - sympathy cards. It's always hard to have to have one, but so good to send our caring thoughts to those who need them. I decided to turn today to my gorgeous Inspired Thoughts set - the one with the new tree dies that are just incredible! Today, I scooted them over to the left just a bit, to make room for the sympathy sentiment. I did put the accompanying sentiment on the inside as well, where this post title comes from... I kept it simple with these two soft colors, and added a touch of the new Open Weave Ribbon, with a few pearls - just little points of light, hopefully!  I'm so happy to see the snowman theme at this month's CAS Christmas June '21! One of my faves! I of course had to go to my trusty Snowman Season stamp set for this one. I seriously thing this might be our longest running snowman ever, lol. This one is so cute! I think he'd be sticking out his tongue if he could here! I decided to dress him up in winter blues today, instead of my usual red and green - I like it! And yes, we always tried to have a contest to see if we really could make a lantern out of fireflies in a jar, before we let them go, lol. I had a wired mason jar my Grandpa made for me just for it! So glad I still have my Jar of Love set (from 2016, but didn't retire til 2019!) to take me back! And of course, this beachy sentiment from Friends Are Like Seashells - I'm thrilled with how well all this different elements sing together! Take me to the beach, please! Lots of seaweed and fronds for setting the scene, and plenty of cute fishies to add the action, lol. I kept today's card all stamps, ink and paper - That's all you really ever need!  Excellent - The Male Room #151 has a "Dads & Grandads" challenge this month - let's hear it! I decided to go for a more generally masculine (perhaps!) theme, instead of a specific Father's Day card. I think because it's so hot out right now here in Arizona (and getting hotter supposed to be over 110 next week!) I felt myself being pulled by a nautical theme - who doesn't want to be on the water in this weather?? I also wanted a look at some old Paper Pumpkin stamp sets I still have around, and You Are My Anchor, from April 2018, caught my eye. Love the buccaneer font in this set, and I think this phrase is perfect for hubs for a just because card - I know he'll be happy to hear how much I appreciate him! I'm a real sucker for sentiments that mix fonts - extra plus bonus when portions can be highlighted with different colors, like the banner on my card! At the top of that list is the new Measure of Love set - but you never know, I might squeeze it into some class or other, lol. The adorable little food scale is so cute, and there are a few different choices of cute things to put ON the scale! Size constraints held me to this sweet little row of hearts (which is a decoration for a mixing bowl, lol) but I figured it went just fine with this sentiment. Gotta still be practical while we're being all cute! When I saw that, I couldn't resist pulling out my Everyday Hero set from 2017 - I still love this set! I made a quick scene, and had some fun coloring everything in with my Blends Markers - it came out so cute! I think I might needs to get a cape for the hubs, lol...
