I am SWOONING over our gorgeous colors this round at Sunday Stamps #387 - such a tropical combo! I pulled my colors to start, and then browsed my basket of current stamps for a likely candidate. Now that our packaging is SO space-saving, all my stamps fit in a storage bin right on my desk, lol!) On the second browse, I thought, hey, how about some fun band-aids?? Sometimes color challenges really bring out the worst in me, I have to say! So here we are, a card of four stacked bandages in super fun colors, with an extra on the envelope. I just couldn't even think of any embellishments for this one, either, lol. I can't wait to see what YOU come up with for our gorgeous colors - meet you at the challenge! Ouch Stamp Set & Dies; Basic White & Cherry Cobbler CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Mossy Meadow, Garden Green, Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green & Cherry Cobbler Inks; #SSC387.

Yay! Just enough time to sneak into Merry Little Christmas #68 - always anything goes! I was able to snag a few more Anita Jeram stamp sets from Colorado Craft Company before the last of them sold out - she's such a great illustrator! I remember reading Guess How Much I Love You SO many times with our daughter! Anyway, one set that I couldn't resist was this little Nativity showing the Three Wise Mice, lol. Just the cutest! I really had some fun coloring this all in, and ended up punching them all out with circle punches. I look forward to also fussy cutting them, too, but I wanted to give them a little more real estate today! Our retired Star Trinkets seemed like just the right embellishment to finish! Colorado Craft Company AJ1017 Stamp Set; Traditions of Christmas DSP (retired); Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate, Barely Blush, Pool Party, Darling Duckling, Hydrangea Hue, Peach Pie & Fresh Freesia Blends Markers; 1 1/4", 1 1/2" & 2" Circle Punches; Star Trinkets (retired); #MLC68. Time for a fun picnic at this round of First Cup Challenges #14! From the picture, I knew I wanted to do something with lemons, but I've done a couple lemonade cards recently, it feels like. How about lemon soda?? Simply Sparkling from 2023 to the rescue! I made a dressy little soda can with a couple lemons on it, and added some oh-so-refreshing lemony details around it - good times, lol. I also finally used my favorite sentiment for it - who doesn't want to be "soda-lightful" for their birthday?? And seriously, these are my all-time favorite bubble dies, too, lol. I feel refreshed already! Simply Sparkling Stamp Set & Dies (retired 2023); Full of Life DSP; Basic White & Silver Foil CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Daffodil Delight Inks; Daffodil Delight & Lemon Lime Twist Blends Markers; Daffodil Delight Low Profile Sparkle Dots; #FCC14. I STILL have some new sets that I haven't inked up yet - now's my chance for NBUS #86! And how could I not take my silly old bear for a spin on this one?? I was so excited to see this release in our May Online Exclusives, but I've been struggling to get it inky!! I think I'd be hard pressed to say which is more awesome - the stamps or the paper, lol. I'll focus on the paper today - I'm so thrilled with the sheets of little scenes ready to go that are included - some in gorgeous die shapes, and some in awesome background sizes! I selected this sweet tea party one (one of my faves from the book!) to go with this sentiment in the accompanying Sweet Words & Labels set. Houston, we have coordination! It's just fabulous! Anyway, I floated it over Hydrangea Hue (which will henceforth be known as Eeyore color) and finished with a little Vanilla Twine I found in a drawer - off to order all the ribbons now, lol. Sweet Words & Labels Stamp Set & Dies; Silly Old Bear DSP; Very Vanilla & Hydrangea Hue CS; Hydrangea Hue Ink; Very Vanilla Baker's Twine; Hydrangea Hue Dots; #NBUS86. Such a fun theme for The Male Room #210! I have so many, food and drink stamps get their own shelf here, lol. I went straight to last year's Bistro Burger bundle for this one - not that the ladies don't enjoy a big juicy burger, too! I started with this muted plaid from our Timeless Plaid pack, and then got to work on the burger and pickles! So fun to just sit and color sometimes, you know? I cut everything out with the dies, including a partial board for my burger to sit on - I found a piece of Pecan Pie in the die sleeve with adhesive already on it - throw that on the cutter! I love when I do stuff like that, lol. After a quick search, it looked like the Deckled Rectangles were just about perfect for the "big deal" sentiment - yay! A few Streaked Dots were just right to finish! Bistro Burger Stamp Set & Dies (retired 2025); Timeless Plaid DSP (retired); Basic White, Old Olive, Crumb Cake & Pecan Pie CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Old Olive, Peach Pie, Real Red, Darling Duckling, SU300, SU400 & Color Lifter Blends Markers; Deckled Rectangles Dies (retired); Streaked Dots (retired); #TMR210. Oh gosh, check out the berry color challenge and sketch at In{k}spire Me #590! So juicy! To be honest, I wasn't sure I could pull off both sides of this challenge, but I gave it my all! I couldn't quite manage a square card, but I adapted the sketch for a standard card front first. Then I went digging through my scrap folders for these colors in DSP - I came up with quite the array! THEN I finally selected a stamp bundle, and I went with Scalloped Blooms so I could finally use a couple of those gorgeous nested scallop dies! At the last second, I decided to add some embossing to my white panel, and a center for my Blackberry flower - this ended up more playful than I thought it would! Scalloped Blooms Stamp Set & Dies; Blackberry Bliss, Berry Burst & Strawberry Slush DSP (all retired) & CS, plus Basic White CS; Blackberry Bliss Ink; Floral Spray EF; Strawberry Slush Flat Pearls; #IMC590. Oooooh, I knew I needed to get on this one! The topping this round at Seize The Birthday #326 is to feature an animal! I have just the thing! This sassy little party animal just arrived at my studio from Colorado Craft Company, and I couldn't wait to ink her up! So hilarious, lol. I floated her over a panel of our Rings of Love DSP so I could give her an acorn-y background, then popped her up with some birthday wishes from Lily of the Valley. I finished with a few Beige Pearls of Beauty, and I'm still laughing! So fun! Lily of the Valley Stamp Set; Colorado Craft Company Have Fun Stamp Set & Die; Rings of Love DSP (retired); Basic White & Evening Evergreen (retired) CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze & Soft Suede (retired) Blends Markers; Beige Pearls of Beauty; #STB326. I am SO excited to guest again at AAA Cards #315 - check out this sweet sketch! Any regular reader here will know that I'm a bit of a flower rebel, lol, I DO like them sometimes, but this little sketch just screamed "pool party" to me! Maybe it's because we've opened our pool up already for the summer here in Arizona, and I have new pool floaties on the brain - that could also have something to do with it! Anyway, Splash & Relax bundle was just what the pool doctor ordered! I did up a cool yellow floatie ring, and two beach balls for the little corner action, and then split up the "splash" sentiment to fit the remaining space. Can't believe I free-handed that first try! Such a fun card! I can't wait to see what YOU come up with for this one - dive in with us! Splash & Relax Stamp Set & Dies; Basic White CS; Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Poppy Parade & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Daffodil Delight Low Profile Sparkle Dots; #AAA315. What a pretty sketch at this round of SU Only #401! This calls for something grand! I decided to seek something grand at the Lily of the Valley suite, lol - that DSP is just burning a hole in my desk! After much laying out and flipping, I came up with this combo from the Valley in Bloom DSP pack, and then managed a spray of the lilies to the side. For my sentiment medallion, I cut two of the little texture shape found in the dies to back my Spotlight on Nature sentiment circle - I think it looks pretty cool! Instead of using the Dewdrop embellies that go with the set, I threw on a few of the white Transparent Dots - I have a couple of packs that only have the white ones left, soooo... I'm real pleased with how this came out! Lily of the Valley Stamp Set & Dies; Valley in Bloom DSP; Basic White & Blackberry Bliss CS; Blackberry Bliss, Garden Green & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Blackberry Bliss & Mossy Meadow Blends Markers; Spotlight on Nature Dies; White Transparent Dots; #SUOC401. Excellent! Time for another speed challenge at As You See It #373 - and it's all about tulips! Can I do them in 10 minutes or less? I knew right away I wanted to use my favorite tulip set for sure - 2018's Tranquil Tulips! I never get tired of it, even with no dies or punches! It has no sentiments, though, so I pulled the Banner Sayings set, and its punch. I love that you can choose from multiple fonts for the cute little sayings, and then you have a choice of 3 banners with the punch, too! I set up all my stamps on blocks, opened my punch and stood it up for easy grabbing, and set out my layers and envelope. Time to start the clock! I started with the stems and leaves, and immediately realized that I need to re-ink this pad, lol - my other one is in a class set up right now. Oh well! I went to the blooms next, and I had set up the two-step stamps on both sides of their blocks for quick turnaround. Last up was the sentiment in black on a Granny Apple scrap, and on to the punch. Stuck it all together, threw on some Flat Pearls - all done! 5 minutes and 23 seconds - not too shabby! I can't wait to see YOUR speedy tulips (or other bulbs, lol) - meet you at the challenge! Banner Sayings & Tranquil Tulips (retired 2018) Stamp Sets; Basic White & Granny Apple Green CS; Granny Apple Green, Strawberry Slush & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks; Three Banner Punch; Strawberry Slush Flat Pearls; #AYSI373. |
