Oo, this is a fun one over at The Male Room #135 - "sentiment in focus!" It just so happens that my go-to Sorry for Everything set is also on the retiring list, sigh, and what a perfect big bold sentiment to feature! I kept everything a bit muted for a guy card, and matched up the "not feeling well" sentiment for this one - I already know who I'm sending this one to! The mix and matchability side of this set is one of the things I love about it - so many flavors of sorry, lol... I was able to sneak in this DSP background, too - I still have BOTH full sheets of it - yikes! Sorry For Everything Stamp Set; Come Sail Away DSP; Whisper White & Early Espresso CS; Early Espresso Ink; True Gentleman Button (retired); Linen Thread; #TMR135. Man Cards May 16! Look at the beautiful sketch Inspire Create Challenge #068 has for us this week! So today's retiring set is Stitched All Around! This one is a real sleeper for me, because {gasp} I only got this bundle for the fabulous Stitched Label dies, lol. I think I've actually used the stamp set maybe twice? That figures! Anyway, the sunshine sentiment really caught my eye today, especially since this is such a good time to send some sunshine out into the world! I found a sunny background sheet in the See A Silhouette pack, and then a fine geometric time finagling the circle and sentiments - I am a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig genius, I'll have you know! Stitched All Around Stamp Set; See A Silhouette DSP; Whisper White & Daffodil Delight CS; Daffodil Delight Ink; Basic Black Stamp-n-Write Marker; Stitched Labels Dies; Gold Glitter Enamel Dots; #ICC068. Such a cute sketch this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments #338! I went browsing through my retiring sets again today (I don't really want to say how many I'm saying goodbye to this year - ouchie!) and realized that my beautiful Hold on to Hope set hasn't been out in a while - I so love this Isaiah quote! I stamped off the pretty vine in Soft Sea Foam for my background, and then stamped one to cut out full strength in Pear Pizzazz. I used a marker to touch up the Curry flowers, and floated a layered cross over all that. Simple and perfect! Hold on to Hope Stamp Set; Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla & Early Espresso CS; Soft Sea Foam. Pear Pizzazz & Early Espresso Inks; Crushed Curry Stamp-n-Write Marker; Cross of Hope Dies; #HSS338. Man Cards May 16! I love the versatility of our sketch this week at Fab Friday #189! So, I'm still in "show off the retiring list" mode here - today it's all about Parisian Beauty! I have to admit, this one really surprised me - these dies are over the moon, darn it!! Today I'm finally using this gorgeous swirl, over my texty background and iconic Eiffel Tower. I had some fun playing with my Rectangle Stitched Dies to get this stitched banner shape, too: I cut a long rectangle first, then turned a wider one over the end to take a stitched "bit" for the flag end. Worked pretty good! I can't wait to see what you come up with for our sketch this week - see you at the challenge! Parisian Beauty Stamp Set; Whisper White, Soft Suede, Sot Sea Foam & Crumb Cake CS; Soft Sea Foam, Crumb Cake & Soft Suede Inks; Parisian & Rectangle Stitched Dies; Linen Thread; Frosted Epoxy Droplets; #FabFri189. Wow, check out this dramatic cover for this week's The Library Challenge #58, The Girl on the Train! This one was a tough one for me - I have no big faces, and I didn't see any trains that were exciting me today, so I finally decided to sort of convert the cover to a sketch. I even took my color inspiration from it, too! I went hunting for any oversize sentiments that I could add to my rectangle panel, and landed on Here's to Strong Women - I love the sayings in this one! Good encouraging words, fun fonts - what's not to love? I'm so sad that this one is retiring, I've been sneaking onto a few things all year, lol. Here's to Strong Women Stamp Set; See a Silhouette DSP; Whisper White, Gray Granite & Basic Black CS; Versamark Ink; Shimmer White EP; Real Red Baker's Twine; Red Candy Star (retired); #TLC58. I am laughing out loud at this week's Less Is More #418 - scribbles, drips or splats! They said "splats," lol. Snicker. Someone tell me why I find that so hilarious! Anyway, I spotted my old Ghoulish Grunge set from 2016 today while going through my retired sets, and decided to use the "drip" from that one for the challenge. I cheered it up a bit with rainbow colors, lol, which made it a perfect match for this sentiment from It Starts With Art, which is retiring with this catty, sigh. I'm all about making room for fun new stuff, but still, this is always a bit of a sad time! Ghoulish Grunge (retired 2016) & It Starts With Art Stamp Sets; Whisper White & Basic Black CS; Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay & Gorgeous Grape Inks; Layering Circles Dies; Bermuda Bay Candy Dot; #LIM418. Shake, shake, shake! We've given you the perfect layout to try your hand at a shaker card with our sketch, too, this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #456! I decided to step up to the plate and make this tropical lovely, and use up some gorgeous sequins I won at a blog challenge a while back from Pretty Pink Posh. I have a ton of fun colors, so I did a mix of them for today, and I figured these tropical fruits would make the perfect frame for them! With all this going on, how could the birthday NOT be memorable? I can't wait to see your projects over at the challenge, hope you can join us! Timeless Tropical Stamp Set; Tropical Oasis DSP; Mint Macaron, Whisper White & Soft Suede CS; Soft Suede Ink; Mango Melody & Granny Apple Green Blends Markers; Heirloom Frames & In The Tropics Dies; Pretty Pink Posh Sequins in Peacock Feathers, Peridot Mist & Sunshine Glow; #TSOT456. Oh gosh - another speed challenge at As You See It #224, but this time with florals! Yikes! OK, how can I speed up the flower process? How about by pulling in a punch? Enter Pop of Petals! I had to hustle, for sure, because I knew I wanted to do sets of two of these pretty flowers to add some dimension, and I had to color them all in! Yikes! I JUST made it, 9 minutes, 50 seconds, and my coloring was a tiny bit sloppy, shh, lol. Still, what a sunny, cheery card - I'm making a lot of those lately! Pop of Petals & Peaceful Moments Stamp Sets; Whisper White, Basic Black & Pear Pizzazz CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight , Purple Posy & Flirty Flamingo Blends Markers; Ornate Layers Dies; Layered Leaves EF; Basic Jewel Pearls; #AYSI224. I'm so excited about the fun sketch we have to share with you this week at Sunday Stamps #230! Our big circle shape made me wonder what else I could put there, of course, and I found the perfect alternate in Make a Splash - love this goldfish bowl! This is the perfect sentiment for sending a cheery hello, too, something we can't have too much of right now, I think! So what will YOU create? I can't wait to see what you come up with, over at the challenge! Make a Splash Stamp Set; See a Silhouette DSP; Whisper White, Pool Party & Pretty Peacock CS; Memento Tuxedo Black. Pool Party, Sahara Sand, Pear Pizzazz, Mango Melody & Versamark Inks; Shimmer White EP; High Seas EF; #SSC230. Excellent! The Sisterhood of Crafters is running a birthday challenge this week - whee! We can add a fancy fold if we want, too! Well, I will rise to the task! How about a landscape gatefold? I can do math - I can! Lol. I pulled in some pretty paper from the Best Dressed DSP pack to help with colors, then stamped and colored from there. I was sad to see that this fun bundle, STILL a fave of mine is on the retiring list this year, sigh, so I had to get in a little more play time with it! Still so cute! Varied Vases Stamp Set; Best Dressed DSP; Purple Posy, Pretty Peacock & Whisper White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black, Purple Post, Pretty Peacock & Mint Macaron Inks; Vase Builder Punch; #TSOCBirthday. |
