I have to admit, I'm pretty fascinated with the new catty sneak peak stamp set, Mosaic Madness, and all the little toys that go with it! DSP, punch, AND embossing folder? Yea, baby! So of course I had to trot it out again for this week's Clean & Simple #241! If I could stop giving in to the DSP temptations, I could even try this baby out in some other colors, too, hmmm... Well, one day, perhaps. Mosaic Madness & Sweet Essentials stamp sets; Pool Party, Smoky Slate & Whisper White CS; Quatrefancy Specialty DSP; Island Indigo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight & Strawberry Slush inks; Modern Mosaic embossing folder; Itty Bitty & Mosaic punches; self-adhesive Rhinestones.

My-oh-my, the fun never stops with Paper Pumpkin! I just got the May kit, "Good Life," and it's all the makings for a cute brag book. Which, of course, I won't be making. That's right, die-hard card-maker here. And then, I saw this week's Retro Sketch #64, which frankly, was made JUST for this Pumpkin, I swear! They're not all Stampin' purists over there, either, so I thought it was pretty amazing that this worked out so perfectly - seriously, every single element of this sketch has a matching part in the May Pumpkin kit - woo hoo! May Paper Pumpkin Kit - "Good Life"; plus, From My Heart & Morning Post Alphabet stamp sets; Pool Party & Smoky Slate CS; Tangerine Tango ink; self-adhesive Rhinestones. What a fun sketch today from Freshly Made Sketch # 84! I knew I wanted to color this morning, so I needed a nice bold image to play with - Sunflower is perfect! I always think this image is so dark - it takes so much ink to get all the detail. So, it always surprises me how awesome it colors up - it really is like tinting a photograph almost... Sunflower & Curly Cute (retiring!) stamp sets; Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla & Lucky Limeade (retiring!) CS; First Edition (retiring!) DSP; Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz (returning!) & Chocolate Chip inks; 1/4" stitched grosgrain in Daffodil Delight; Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch. This week's Sunday Stamps Challenge #48 really sent me on a quest to explore what different shapes I could use in this sketch layout! What a scavenger hunt! I settled on these two from the Apothecary Accents framelits set, as I really don't use them very often at all. Once I chose them, it was hard to not keep introducing more competing patterns, lol... I did try to keep it manly - only one tiny rhinestone! Clockworks, Morning Post Alphabet & From My Heart stamp sets; Pool Party, Island Indigo, Sahara Sand & Whisper White CS; Quatrefancy Specialty DSP; Honeycomb embossing folder; Apothecary Accents framleits; 1/2" Circle punch; self-adhesive Rhinestones. This week's Paper Craft Crew #42 was a fun one! It was hard to choose a direction - patterns or images?? A stumper... I decided I wanted to play with my Beyond Plaid stamp set, and give it a masculine flavor. I just love this set - so many fun ways to use it! Beyond Plaid, Dapper Dad & Happiest Birthday Wishes (retired) stamp sets; Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Early Espresso & Whisper White CS; This and That Epic Day DSP; Designer Natural button; Linen thread. Oh goodness, it's been a week or so since a scripture card - it's that time again! Luckily, Retro Sketches #63 gave a great layout for it! I'm still not done playing with a few of the new toys that came in my new catty pre-order, and I love the springiness of our upcoming In Colors! This layout was perfect for showing off our new patterns and textures as well - yum! ODB Scripture Favorites #2 stamp set; Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush & Whisper White CS; Quatrefancy Specialty DSP; Little Leaves Sizzlet; Modern Mosaic embossing folder; Boho Blossoms punch; self-adhesive Pearls. And now for something completely different! I had a little fun today with Clean & Simple #240 - I wondered if I could use this sketch for cleaning up some scraps, and saying goodbye to my favorite Sal-A-Bration set - with lots of color! It's a fun layout - it was hard to not go straight to the washi tape, but I need to get more colors in that... Of course, I couldn't resist adding a little bling to all that color - who doesn't love some extra sparkle?? Vintage Verses stamp set; Elegant Eggplant CS & ink, along with Whisper White; Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP; self-adhesive Rhinestones. I knew for my Mother's Day card this year, I really wanted to play with our new 2013-14 In Colors - I love food names for colors! It seemed a cinch to combine it also with Freshly Made Sketch #85, to really show off some of the color combos. I managed to use at least a little of ALL the colors, though I did "stamp-off" in a few places to dampen them down a bit. Happy Mother's Day, Mom! Oh, Hello & All Holidays (retired) stamp sets; Whisper White, Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding & Strawberry Slush CS; Quatrefancy Specialty DSP; Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar, Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana & Crisp Cantaloupe inks; Elegant Lines (retired) embossing folder; Little Leaves sizzlet; Ovals Collection framelits; Occasions piercing pack; Boho Blossoms punch; stitched 1/4" grosgrain in Whisper White; self-adhesive Pearls. I was excited to use another preview set for this week's Fabulous Friday #18 - another color challenge! I was a little worried when I saw it - looks like a LOT of colors! But they sure knew what they were doing, because it all came together like a dream (that's why they're FABULOUS!) I have been studying this new stamp set all week - itching to get it inked up! I love sets that have pieces to play with, and of course, the icing is that it comes with a coordinating punch, and embossing folder - woo hoo! Mosaic Madness & Fabulous Phrases stamp sets; Soft Suede, Raspberry Ripple, Very Vanilla, Summer Starfruit & Primrose Petals CS & inks; Bitty Banners framelits; stitched satin ribbon in Raspberry Ripple; Mosaic & Itty Bitty punches; Modern Mosaic embossing folder; self-adhesive Rhinestones. OK, this week's Sunday Stamps #47 color challenge was a bit weird. I'm not shy, I'm just gonna put that out there. On the other hand, just coming off the "great onesie project," where all pink and blue was banned, it was also strangely satisfying, lol... It also ended up being a bit of a tour of retired tidbits I had around, in order to make up the elements of the challenge - combined with a sneak peek of something from the upcoming 2013-14 Idea Book & Catalog - woo! A quickie too- 5 minutes flat! Label Love stamp set; Whisper White & Pretty in Pink CS; Berry Bliss DSP (retired) & Print Poetry DSP stack; Gold Glimmer Specialty DSP; Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon (retired); Scallop Trim Border & Artisan Label punches; self-adhesive Pearls. |
