A very fun theme this week at Shopping Our Stash #467 - "under the weather!" I chose to do a weather theme for this one, rather than a get well, though I think this could be a nice cheer-up card, too, lol. I wanted to try and make a little dent in the shocking amount of this Sunshine & Rainbows DSP I still have! I figure a rainbow counts as a weather element, so I did this big one with the Brilliant Rainbow Dies that go with Rainbow of Happiness - definitely cheery! I added my sentiment on a nice cloud punched with our long-awaited Cloud Punch - love this one, we have needed a good cloud for so long! A few Silver Epoxy raindrops finish things off. Rainbow of Happiness Stamp Set; Sunshine & Rainbows DSP; Basic White & Pool Party CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Brilliant Rainbow Dies; Cloud Punch; Silver Epoxy Shapes; #MMM467.

So excited - Make My Monday #171 would like us to use a stencil! Well, the timing is good for this challenge, too, because it gives me a chance to showcase more retiring goodies, lol. I started by stenciling over my background panel with one from of Plenty of Patterns masks - so sad to see these go! My fave has been this crackle-glass pattern - so quirky! I'm also featuring Love of Leaves which has had a good run - the stitched detail you can add to these is just stunning! I cute the basic leaves from a DSP sheet in Flowering Fields, then added the vein detail. I loved it so much, I did this on my stamped envelope leaf, too - such a cool detail to add to the envelope! Gold Glitter Enamel dots made for an elegant finish! Love of Leaves Stamp Set; Flowering Fields DSP; Basic White & Soft Sea Foam CS; Soft Sea Foam & Old Olive Inks; Stitched Leaves & Rectangle Stitched Dies; Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks; Gold Glitter Enamel Dots; #MMM171. OooOOooo! Check out our ultra-banded sketch this week at As You See It #272! One of the sets retiring this year that I will really miss, and that I didn't use NEARLY enough of, lol, is Sweet as a Peach. Such a gorgeous set, with perfect dies, and sweet juicy DSP to boot. I had to feature two of my favorite sheets here today, lol, and I got serious with a sponge dauber to really add some color depth to my yummy feature peach - wish I'd thought of this sooner! One little Bumblebee Trinket completes the card! I can' wait to see YOUR projects for this one - meet you there! Sweet as a Peach Stamp Set; You're a Peach DSP; Basic White CS; Pear Pizzazz, Pale Papaya & Calypso Coral Inks; Sponge Dauber; Bumblebee Trinkets; #AYSI272. Very pretty - Less is More #461 is running a pink and gold color challenge this week! I have to say, I immediately thought of our Art Gallery set for this one - that layering flower is just too tempting to add gold to! I did some stamping and stamping off with Flirty Flamingo, and then added my gold heat-embossed detail stamp - so pretty! I decided to heat emboss my sentiment this round, too, and finished with some tiny gold pearls. So sweet! Art Gallery Stamp Set; Basic White & Flirty Flamingo CS; Flirty Flamingo & Versamark Inks; Gold EP; Gold Pearls; #LIM461. OK, time to try out a new challenge! I can JUST squeak in to this week's Can You Handle the Pressure - an anything-goes-must-use-embossing challenge - this round with a touch of green! I was recently going through my retiring papers - it's that time of year! My pack of Shimmer Vellum is in that stack, and I noticed that I had a scrap of the Evening Evergreen I had embossed when I first received it, to see what would happen. What happens is it really pulls out the shimmer! Yum! I am delighted to use that test scrap on this calm Christmas card, a natural to pair with Christmas to Remember and Christmas Season. I love the look of the embossed panel! Christmas to Remember & Christmas Season Stamp Sets; Basic White, Gray Granite & Early Evergreen Shimmer Vellum CS; Cherry Cobbler, Early Evergreen & Soft Succulent Inks; Seasonal Labels Dies; Wintry EF; Cherry Cobbler Heavy Baker's Twine; Cherry Cobbler Matte Decorative Dots; #CYHTPGreen. We have such a great sketch for your this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments #386! Well, I didn't let too long go by before jumping back to Color & Contour again, did I? Lol, I'm really liking this flower! I did one up in Calypso Coral for our sketch today, and this time fussy cut a couple leaves to go with it for our sketch. My sentiment is from our upcoming Limited Edition stamp set - our newest Angel Policy set! I was lucky enough to receive one for our demo event On Tour, which will be introducing our new 2022-23 Annual Catalog! I can't wait! I had to slip this cutie in somehow, lol. I can't wait to see YOUR projects for our sketch - meet you there! Color & Contour and Limited Edition (2022-23 AC) Stamp Sets; Pansy Petals DSP; Basic White & Fresh Freesia CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Calypso Coral Inks; Daffodil Delight & Soft Sea Foam Blends Markers; Scalloped Contours & Ornate Frames Dies; Vanilla Sequins; #HSS386. Another great combo this week from In{k}spire Me #474! Such a fun sketch! Now, I can't lie, these colors were TOUGH! Where do they get their combos?? I had to pull out all the stops to get them all on there today, lol. I started with my very last sheet of this Night of Navy DSP from a stack that's at LEAST 5 years old! I really haven't warmed to the last several patterns sets we've had (though that all changes when the new catty comes! YES!) I figured a Navy sky could work with a bright kite, too, so out came Kite Delight! I chose the flowered one to leave scope for the rest of the colors, and tried to honor the sketch from there. A fun time creating, I have to say! I'm channeling Mary Poppins! Kite Delight Stamp Set; Night of Navy & Pale Papaya DSP; Basic White & Fresh Freesia CS; Night of Navy Ink; Fresh Freesia, Melon Mambo & Pale Papaya Blends Markers; Pale Papaya Jewels; #IMC474. Check out our gorgeous banded and focal sketch this week at Sunday Stamps #280! Today I wanted to play with my recently arrived Color & Contour bundle. For whatever reason, I have been late late late to acquire this pretty set, and have some time to make up! I have to be honest, I just had to have those nested scallop dies in the end, lol. I also wanted to feature at least one of retiring In Colors, and one I haven't played with much is Magenta Madness - SO vibrant! It's perfect for these playful sketchy blooms - yay! I even found some dotty DSP to back me up - dots are just so happy! I can't wait to see YOUR take on our fun sketch this round - meet you there! Color & Contour Stamp Set; All Together DSP; Basic White & Magenta Madness CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Magenta Madness Inks; Daffodil Delight Blend Markers; Scalloped Contours Dies; Magenta Madness Baker's Twine; Magenta Madness Enamel Dots; #SSC280. We have a fun theme at this week's The Sisterhood of Crafters - "sentiment only!" Love this! So, I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I only just recently realized that our Amazing Silhouettes set is bundled with these fabulous Amazing Thanks dies! I know it's crazy, but I actually won the stamp set by itself during our online catalog preview event for demos, so I never really looked at that page of the catalog, lol. Doh! These dies are beautiful! Love the shadow layering we can do, too, and they are the perfect accompaniment to go with the set! Amazing Silhouettes Stamp Set; Basic White & Soft Sea Foam CS; Soft Sea Foam & Old Olive Inks; Amazing Thanks Dies; Brushed Brass Butterflies; #TSOCSentimentOnly. This will be fun - we're having a fun-fold challenge at Sparkles Christmas Challenge #135 this month! Well, I can never get enough gatefolds, lol, so I went looking for a fun winter background to put behind my farewell Snowman Season card. This cute set has lasted through a few catalogs now! I couldn't resist this chubby little dancing guy - and there was almost nothing to color! I did add some of the set snowflakes over the DSP, though - such a cool look! I can't wait to see YOUR holiday fun folds for us - meet you at the challenge! Snow Man Season Stamp Set; Trimming the Town DSP (retired); Basic White & Pool Party CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Pool Party Ink; Pumpkin Pie & Pool Party Blends Markers; Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes; #SCC135. |
