Confetti Birthday

Check us out: our second color challenge ever is up and ready for play at Try Stampin' on Tuesday! And how awesome is it that it's in my all-time fave color combo of purples and green?? Match the Sketch #223 is here to help me out, too!
After picking out my colors (Fresh Fig, Always Artichoke & Sweet Sugarplum!) I went hunting for a stamp set - what could fit a triple shape for the sketch? I got to looking at the fun "hooray" in Confetti Celebration, and that was all she wrote, lol. It was a little too big, but hey, birthdays should always be about big fun, lol. I added some touches of silver to give it a little sparkle, but other than flipping it 180 degrees, I pretty much stuck to the sketch. Hooray for me! See you at the challenge!

Wow, what a fun organic layout from Freshly Made Sketch #331 this week! I think I can do something dramatic with these colors from Color Throwdown #487, too!
So, this card about killed me, lol. I worked and tweaked, and started over and tried again in every combo I could think of - argh! This color combo about had me beat! OTOH, I now have so already cut pretty die pieces in all three of these colors for future projects, now, lol. Gotta love it. At the end of the day, simple ink on paper was the winner - and I even like the bold splashes here! I had to add a few sparkles so you'd know it was really me, but, whew! What a work out!

So excited to host this week at Sunday Stamps #176 - hope you like this sketch! I was hoping it would have lots of DSP possibilities!
Today I really felt like coloring, AND I'm not quite ready to put away my SAB Epic Celebrations set, so today is now National Bermuda Bay Day, lol. I had some fun finding two patterns I felt good about combining, and then just went to town with my Bermuda Bay Blends - good times!
I can't wait to see what you come up with for my sketch, and I look forward to checking out all your creations!

SO excited that I can finally squeeze in Paper Craft Crew #286 - and for such a great sketch, too! I'm going to squeeze in Stamp Ink Paper #144's birthday theme, too!
I decided to pull out Happy Birthday Gorgeous today - Picture Perfect is taking over my birthday world, I think, lol! I wanted to focus on the sweet balloons in this set, and also realized I still have one open pack of the SAB Tutti Frutti notecards to use, too. So, sigh, in came Picture Perfect Party DSP - but I tried! My fave sheet is of course the dotty one, which I thought would be good to match with dotty balloons. I added a few outline details from Balloon Celebration, but still, I love these party cards!

Totally adorable inspiration pic at this week's Fusion Easter Bunny challenge!
I was really stumped on this one for a while - I really didn't do much for Easter this year, sigh. I finally settled on the colors, and the general Spring theme, and of course the funky sketch! I was all abut the papers for this one - a quick search pulled up Sweet Soiree for the pinks, and after discovering I pretty much have NO Pear Pizzazz DSP scrap of any kind (sigh), I went with my old fave Chocolate Chip dots from the 2010-13 stack - so yummy, lol. I pulled out my Hold on to Hope set for the sentiment, and added a few more details from that to finish it off. Here's my cheater tip on two-color stamping: Pick a light and a dark color scheme, ink up the whole stamp in the lighter color (in my case the Pear Pizzazz) then go over your details of choice in a darker marker (Chocolate Chip for me)- it won't ruin your marker so long as you only go over something lighter with it, and you can always check it on paper scraps after, too. Easy peasy!

Paper Players #387 has a fun music theme for us this week! I think I'll throw in Merry Monday #284's red and white theme, too!I decided the best way to get my red and white music in was to pull out my Carols of Christmas set - this one was bundled with these amazing card front thinlits - so cool! There's a few borders plus several detail frames for the several smaller stamps. Such a fun puzzle today, lol. I had to try my hand at the plain border today, and decided to "deck" the remaining space, so to speak. Let's just say this - this set is SO much easier to add details to now that we have the mini dimensionals - who knew?? Whew!

Turning 16

Today's cute layout comes from Case This Sketch #265!
So, I have a neighbor turning 16 this week, and since he helps out with dog visits when I'm out of the house for extended times, the girls wanted to get him a card, lol, not too frilly! I pulled out my number of years set, which I haven't used so often, and went with a nice boyish color scheme of blue, orange and gray. I had to bend my "look who's turning" a little bit more, but with the curve already built in, it was a cinch! I really like the stamped numbers, too - this patchy look is nice and weathered...

We have another great sketch for you at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #362! I'm adding in the also fun "anything goes" challenge at Retro Rubber #83, too!
I have always loved Adventure Awaits from 2015 - so many fun and encouraging sentiments, in a nice large and dramatic layout - gorgeous! This one is my total fave, and I love floating it over something that evokes water. I've added a "thinking of you" to the inside from Crazy About You, which also launched in 2015. Quick simple, powerful - yay!
Can't wait to see what you do with our sketch this week - there's room for anything!

Here's a fun four-square sketch from Match the Sketch #222! I'm adding in Just Add Ink #402's "choose two" challenge, too!
I really had a hard time settling on my two choices - I knew I wanted foil, but I started out thinking to put on a fun birdie for feathers before switching to stencils at the last second. Love these bright colors! Thank goodness we have another year on Berry Burst & Lemon Lime Twist - that's going to be a painful parting, sigh. Lucky Limeade all over again, {SOB.} Anyway, I pulled out my Hearts & Stars Masks, and turned the stars to offset both colors - came out cool!

Partial Petals

I'm excited to try my hand at our April Technique Challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday - partial die-cutting! I'm tossing in these sweet colors from Color Throwdown #486 just for fun, too!
I've actually been wanting to do a partial diecut card since our last On Stage convention, when one was show-cased during one the demonstrations - so simple and so dramatic! I hope I did it justice. Here's what I did: I stamped an image that had some "outlying" parts, in this case, the flower trio from Petal Palette. I ran the die part way thru my Big shot, so that these leaves were cut, but all the rest was attached. Then I "hung" a circle die around the cut part, so I could circle cut the remainder of the image, which I also layered over its Scallop circle. Quick and fun!
