 I love the washed background of this week's sketch at TGIF #103! I think I'll add in Global Design Project #83's sparkle or bling challenge, too - so pretty! I ended up keeping this card pretty spot-on the sketch, BUT, I did allow myself some fun and dabbled a bit in some new In Colors! Meet Tranquil Tide (the starry background) and Fresh Fig - one of my all-time favorite fruits! I added in some Crushed Curry for my flame, and I really do think this is a keeper color combo for my newbies - newbie colors, that is, lol. Isn't it funny how so often simplest is best?  Wow, check out this unusual sketch from Case the Sketch #217! I don't think I've seen one quite like this before! I think, though, that it might be just the thing to go with the Less Is More #324 "Spring Walk" challenge - let's see! So, since I've started playing at another sketch challenge that's all about featuring our more "seasoned" stamp sets, I've been venturing into the Room of Retirement a bit more than usual. On one such excursion, I came across my old Inspired By Nature set - I hung onto it for the lovely grassy background I could make with it. Seems to me it's just right for this sketch, too, and it had some flowers to use for my "Spring" element, too. This reminds me of many a lovely spring walk I've had back East - it's mostly blooming cacti here, lol... I really like the selection of image shapes in this thinlit set, right down to the tiniest twig and bud, lol. I had some fun with some creative colors for my little boy sparrow - isn't he handsome in plum? A good day indeed... This was a tough one for me, but luckily, a new box arrived from my Mother Ship, and I finally got to play with Weather Together. That's been on my wish list for so long! I had some fun playing with framelits, too, but I ultimately switched to this sweet sentiment from our retiring Sending Thoughts set. I love when our sayings come in pairs so I can put a little something on the inside, too. In the end, I'm so happy with how this came out, and I'll be glad to have it ready to send off when needed... I hemmed and hawed for a few days, lol, and then tried to clear my mind with some Food Network binge watching - doesn't everyone do that? Anyway, I was watching a desperate episode of Chopped, when THEY are really stumped, and "deconstruct" every dish known to man. (Come on, broken pieces of pasta with a tomato slice and weird cheese is "deconstructed lasagna?" REALLY??) And then I thought, hey, I could do that in ink, I bet! So here you have it, a deconstructed color challenge, for the inspiration impaired. Yum! This was my first try with the Happy Celebrations bundle, and I so wanted to use it - there was even this giant swoosh which I curved on the block for LIM.
