Thank goodness I still have My Pumpkin Challenge #0414 - Special Moments to work on - is it volunteer appreciation time for all of you, too? This month's Paper Pumpkin "Glittered Greetings" is fitting right in as well! Today I made up some ca-UTE little tags for the Tag A Bag Gift Boxes I'll be using for my little tokens! It was a lot of fun dressing up the boxes, too - I decided to try embossing the sleeve to see what would happen. I had to reposition the embossing folder a few times, but I picked one I'd be able to see fairly easily for alignment, and I felt like the chevron really went well with the stamp from the kit. For the box itself, I heat-embossed that stamp all the way around the edge - photopolymer made lining up a snap! No Stamp-A-Ma-Jig required! Paper Pumpkin - Glittered Greetings; plus, Tag A Bag Gift Box; Chevron Embossing Folder; Versamark; Pool Party Embossing Powder; Chalk Talk Framelits; Stretch Ruffle Trim in Coastal Cabana.

Oo, lots of angles in this week's Freshly Made Sketch #130, hmm... It suddenly occurred to me that with my anniversary coming this week, maybe I should get crackin' on a card for hubby! Yikes! Good thing I'm a card-maker, lol... So, I've been thinking for a while about how this sentiment from Yippee-Skippee would make a good anniversary card, now's the time to test that! Add lots of color (just like our marriage!) and Houston, we have lift-off! On to the lobster! Yum! Yippee Skippee!, Hearts A Flutter & Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Sets; Watercolor Wonder DSP; Whisper White & Daffodil Delight CS; Gumball Green, Tangerine Tango, Island Indigo & Daffodil Delight Inks; Hearts A Flutter Framelits; Regals Button in Island Indigo; Tangerine Perle Cotton. OK, there are some fantastically clever takes on this sketch over at Nacho Average Challenge #83! I love sketches that give me a shape to take off from... So, this shape sent me straight to these arrows, and the Retro Fresh suite - so coordinated! It would have been so easy to go overboard here - I almost started slapping on some of the cute matching washi tape, too, lol... Less is more! So, does anyone else wish that the Candy Dots came out in the In Colors? I sure do... I cheated a little here and used Crumb Cake ones (I think, hard to tell once I start using up a bunch!), which I think look a little darker against the Coastal Cabana... Peachy Keen & Hip Notes Stamp Sets; Retro Fresh DSP; Coastal Cabana, Tangerine Tango & Very Vanilla CS; Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana & Tangerine Tango Inks; Neutrals Candy Dots in Crumb Cake. OK, that's just a NIFTY layout for Retro Sketches #108 this week! Looks like a great one for some new scripture sets that just arrived - that box is looking a little slim these days, lol... So, this card ended up being ALL about the layers for me this week - I just went nuts with them! I'm so pleased with how well they came out - perfect! This DSP has such dramatic and organic patterns, I love pairing it with scripture... ODB Scripture Collection 13; Venetian Romance DSP; Very Vanilla & Soft Suede CS; Soft Suede & Island Indigo Inks. Have you ever lived somewhere that mistletoe grew wild? I have. I miss going out walking and hunting for it - my Dad used to tell stories about he used to hunt for it when he was young, too, (and shoot it down with BB guns, but I didn't do that, lol.) that's what I was reminded of when I saw this week's Merry Monday #102. I sure miss the woods, sigh... Anyway, even though it's long retired, I have hung on to this set because I just so love the images - my first home-made Christmas Cards came from this set, and I found I even still have a sticky note on the box to remind which boards and organizations I made cards for with it so I didn't repeat them - starting in 2008! Holy cow, have I really been stamping that long?? Peaceful Wishes (retired) Stamp Set; Sahara Sand, Old Olive, Whisper White & Cherry Cobbler CS; Sahara Sand, Old Olive & Old Olive Craft Inks; Clear Embossing Powder; Corner Rounder Punch; Ovals Collection Framelits; Occasions Piercing Template; White UniGel Pen. Wow, the latest Paper Pumpkin kit, "Glittered Greetings," is really awesome! There's so much STUFF in this kit - enough for eight very fancy (glittered!) cards! Perfect for this month's challenge - My Pumpkin Challenge #0414 - Special Moments. That said, I of course had to cut some of these gorgeous supplies up, and add a bit more color pop, lol. However awesome the basic projects are, I guess I just don't get to do those! I love how this came out - I see more glittered words in my future! To add that sparkle to my "congrats," I brushed a thin layer of Modge Podge over the word base, and used a thin strip of paper to clean out extra glue from any tight spaces. I then dunked in my gold glitter tub, and snapped off the excess (which didn't stop me from wearing a snazzy sparkly accessory on my forehead for the rest of the day, sorry...) and adhered to my card with glue dots from the Pumpkin kit. Paper Pumpkin - Glittered Greetings; plus, Bermuda Bay & Calypso Coral CS; Gold Glitter. Looks like I'm on a Match Up streak, lol! This dynamic duo is brought to you by Sunday Stamps #72 and Fab Friday #38! I really wanted to stamp with my new photopolymer sets, Cutie Pie and Cutie Pie Frames! All those cute little faces just started talking to me, saying, "Ink Me, Ink Me!" It was hard to choose, lol... Doesn't she look contrite? And of course, if you have an antennae stamp to go with, why would you NOT use it? I mean, come on! Cutie Pie & Cutie Pie Frames Stamp Sets; Baked Brown Sugar, Sahara Sand, Whisper White & Pistachio Pudding CS; Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding & Basic Black Inks; Sweet Sorbet DSP; Corner Rounder Punch. |
