I'm really liking this fun landscape combo at this week's In{k}spire Me #473! I stacked up my colors and went stamp browsing for this one, and finally landed on Plentiful Plants - still a fun fave of mine! I figured this could be a fun one for mixing up the colors in interesting ways, hence my fanciful Razzleberry and Sea Foam rubber tree, lol. I made a lovely background from some Evergreen DSP, which I eventually matted onto Razzleberry as well - you know me and the old purple-green combo, lol. I feel like this card could also be a pretty good guy card, too, nit sure why, but it's reading masculine to me! Plentiful Plants Stamp Set; Evening Evergreen DSP; Basic White, Rich Razzleberry & Soft Sea Foam CS; Evening Evergreen, Soft suede, Soft Sea Foam & Rich Razzleberry Inks; Perfect Plants & Ornate Frames Dies; Evening Evergreen Jewels; #IMC473. Goodness, we have some juicy colors for you this week at Sunday Stamps#279! I've actually had the idea for multicolored ladybugs brewing around in my head for a bit now, and our colors today were JUST what I needed to finally try it out! I punched a few ladybug bodies, then chose some current colors to go with - I really buckled down and stayed away from some retired ones that would be PERFECT, lol... Anyway, I couldn't resist adding a little bug feet track with our Stitched With Whimsy dies, and finished off with some tiny Rhinestones. So fun! I hope you have a chance to come play with us this week - see you at the challenge! Hello Ladybug Stamp Set; Basic White, Basic Black, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz & Polished Pink CS; Memento Tuxedo Black & Polished Pink (envelope) Inks; Stitched With Whimsy Dies; Ladybug Builder Punch; Rhinestone Basic Jewels; #SSC279. Here's a fun one from The Flower Challenge #66 - use scraps! I knew right away I wanted to use my In Bloom bundle for this one! I can't get over the Pierced Blooms dies still, and how perfect are they for a fresh array of little flowers cut from DSP scraps? I settled on my retired pack of Ice Cream Corner DSP - so many yummy colors in these pretty color washes, just right for this Spring-y spray! I finished with a few Brushed Brass Butterflies, I've been really surprised how much I love them, lol. I think THEY are why I'm suddenly all over flower cards again! In Bloom Stamp Set; Ice Cream Corner DSP (retired); Basic White & Petal Pink CS; Flirty Flamingo Ink; Pierced Blooms Dies; Brushed Brass Butterflies; #TFC66. Pumpkin Club March 26! Hm, The Sisterhood of Crafters is running an "old, rejected" stamps challenge this fortnight. Now I love me some old stamps, for sure, but I don't know about the rejected part, lol. This might take some digging! So, it turns out, on the back of a bottom shelf, I have a little bin stash of non-SU stamp sets. That I totally forgot was there, and never dig through, so I think that qualifies as old and rejected, right?? I found 3 little sachets of stamp sets (bizarro!) and one of them was Cocktail Party from Unity Stamps. A quick search on Splitcoast shows cards as far back as 2009 using this set - wow! I have no idea how this came to me, I think someone must have given these to me, and since I'm a diehard SU! fan and demo, I don't think I ever gave them a thought, lol. But this cocktail dress is a cutie, so I matched it up with the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP still out on my desk from yesterday. I like it! No one report me to the SU police, please, lol. Cocktail Party Stamp Set (Unity, 2009?); Sunshine & Rainbows DSP (retired); Basic White & Basic Black CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Artisan Pearls (retired); #TSOCOldRejected. Pumpkin Club March 26! So fun, Cupcake Inspirations #539 has a challenge theme right up my alley - pets! Looks like I might be trending kitties this week, lol. Today I went for my still-current Pampered Pets set, and realized I STILL have some of the retired DSP that came out with the stamp set. There are two sheets of kitties that I haven't even touched, so I picked a pretty one to fussy cut and went on from there. I also wanted more color that that DSPs palette, so I pulled this bright sheet from our Sunshine & Rainbows pack. Pretty cute! I've always wanted a Siamese cat - so elegant, and chatty! Pampered Pets Stamp Set; Sunshine & Rainbows & Playful Pets DSP (both retired); Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Tasteful Labels Dies; Glitter Enamel Dots; #CIC539. EEK! What a great code this week at Addicted to CAS # 215 - feline! I ran straight for my old Here Kitty Kitty set from 2007 - still a goodie! I kept things VERY basic for the CAS brief, but also did slightly subdued colors, thinking this would be a good one for a boy, too... I love all the choices we have in our Blender pens, lol. And I knew kitty felt like playing with his mechanical mouse today - that's what you do on a birthday! Here, Kitty Kitty Stamp Set (retired 2007); Basic White CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Cajun Craze, Smoky Slate, Just Jade & Pumpkin Pie Blends Markers; #ATC215. Wow, I think I can actually squeeze in three challenges onto ONE card today! First up, this fun sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday #547, paired up with SU Only #297's plants theme. And since we have "anything goes" at Retro Rubber #178 this week, I just need to browse the retired stamps for it! I quickly landed on 2010's Plant Hope set, which I have hung on to all this time just for this sentiment - I love it so much! I also really love the little bonsai tree, and had fun coloring it in with our blends! I stuck pretty close to the sketch, and just let it all flow from the perfect colors in our Bloom Where You're Planted DSP pack - yay! I hope you have time to come and play at all of our challenges this week - can't wait to see your projects! Plant Hope Stamp Set (retired 2010); Bloom Where You're Planted DSP; Basic White & Soft Sea Foam CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, Cinnamon Cider & Crumb Cake Blends Markers; Stitched Shapes Dies (retired); Artisan Pearls (retired); #TSOT547; #SUOC297; #RRCB178. Sweet - Fusion has a lovely vintage-y "turquoise rose" bouquet for the inspiration side of their challenge this week. Hm... Well, I actually don't have any roses anymore, ever since I let 5th Avenue Floral go, lol. However, I LOVE our Artistically Inked set - such organic and detailed flowers in there! I actually took a crack at playing both sides of the challenge, and did up a fun layout in blue with our Pattern Party DSP. The Misty Moonlight patterned paper dictated that I try a more rounded blue to coordinate, so out came the Balmy Blue to go with. I think it really pops against the Misty Moonlight! This all seemed just right for a floral birthday! Artistically Inked Stamp Set; Pattern Party DSP; Basic White CS; Misty Moonlight, Balmy Blue, Pear Pizzazz & Crushed Curry Inks; Artistic Dies; Gilded Gems; #FusionTurquoiseRose. Very fun - this month, The Male Room #160 wants us to make an animals card! Excellent! Looking over my MANY critter sets, I finally settled on Badger Besties - these guys are so cute, and a cinch to color, too! I did this little dancing badger today, with the "happy day" sentiment - I think of this as a birthday sentiment, and I stamped the "it's your turn to be celebrated" line on the inside. For a guy, I once again turned to my trusty In Good Taste DSP pack - these wood grains just can't be beat! Then a few low-key shinies finishes things off for one happy badger! Badger Besties Stamp Set; In Good Taste DSP; Basic White, Crumb Cake & Sahara Sand CS; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Gray Granite Blends Markers; Elegant Faceted Gems; #TMR160. This looks fun! Shopping Our Stash #465 is going Full Metal Jacket, lol, that is, use metal on your card! Cool! I knew right away that I wanted to dig out my old Have a Cuppa trinkets from 2016 for this one, lol - they went with my still-favorite stamp set A Nice Cuppa. Oh my gosh, the dies for this cutie are still the best! Not that I got to use them today, lol. Anyway, I wasn't sure if I finally set the super cute DSP that used to go with it free, and alas, I have, but while I was hunting, I came across this old pack of Gingham Gala, with my favorite color of all time Lemon Lime Twist right on top, lol. I just couldn't resist! With all this all-time greatness going on, I knew I had to keep the card design pretty simple, so I opted for this sweet stack of teacups, and tied the teapot trinket to one of the handles. Just charming! A Nice Cuppa Stamp Set (retired 2016); Gingham Gala DSP (retired); Basic White & Crumb Cake CS; Crumb Cake Ink; Linen Thread; Have a Cuppa Trinkets (retired); #SOS465. |
