 Retro Rubber #106 has a cool stripes challenge for this week - nice! While I was browsing the retired shelves, I came across my old Epic Alphabet - loved this one! I have a real weakness for alphabet sets, lol, I think I have 10 or 12, and many framelits and dies besides, too! But this one is STRIPEY! How cool is that? I've kept it super simple, just a touch of detail added, for the perfect love note! This was another one of those sit-on-my-hands moments, too - I had ribbon, sequins and candy dots all standing by, lol. I even thought about a marker to color in some stripes, lol.  Another cool new book cover for me from the Library Challenge #28: The Party! Pretty building... So, I don't know this book, but I knew I had the perfect set to make a card version of the cover! At Home With You has everything you need for the well-dress front door, lol, and I went with a birthday theme to go with the title. Now, looking more closely at the picture, I have realized that this actually must be some kind of scary book - woops! Too bad! I see "party" and I'm all over it in the best way, lol! Yup, we're all about the layers this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #400! We also had a suggested theme of favorite patterns to go with! In thinking about the additional theme, the natural choice is to go to your fave DSP, right? For me, I've always loved dots - they're just so happy! And there's none happier than the ones in our Brights DSP stack, especially in all my fave new colors this year, lol. Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody (all time best!!) and the surprise most-used color for me, Flirty Flamingo. I am Not a pink gal, but somehow, I've been using Flirty Flamingo a LOT! Like this is almost my last scrap of this sheet a lot! Crazy! This seemed like a great time to use one of my fave sentiments, too, from Amazing Life. I dressed it up a little with a fussy cut banner, and some extra ink on the "happy" - yay, Blends Markers! Shout out to my teamies, here, with us celebrating the big 400, I'm grateful for YOU in my life - this cards for all of YOU! So, what will YOU create? I can't wait to see you over at the challenge! There's another beautiful combo at Fusion's "Mint" challenge this week! Fun! I'm really into all the cool new greens we got this year - and I love the combo of Soft Sea Foam and Mint Macaron! Knowing that, I pulled out my Tranquil Textures DSP, which has the lovely Sea Foam sheet in it, and did some actual MATH to figure out which size punch I could use to make my circle background - yay me! I thought a nice big "celebrate" would look great over that, and I did a quick little birthday sentiment to go with - gotta know what we're celebrating, right? This card turned out super simple, but I can't stop looking at it, the paper really makes the eyes keep moving! Very cool - Back to Basics #23 has a fun tic-tac-toe grid for us this week! Bingo! I finally settled on the Pearls-Flowers-Blue column - this was a tough one for me! I'm still loving up neglected stamps here, too, so out came my gorgeous Enjoy Life set. I love these little floral viney things - that's what I'm using for my Balmy Blue flowers, anyway! I used this two part sentiment for the first time, too, and decided on a two-tone with Soft Suede - I think they go great together! I decided to use the tiny butterfly in this set to add some detail, which also helped me get the pearls rolling - no naked butterflies! I did take a tiny shortcut by punching out with my 1/2" Circle Punch - extra border, lol! With these lovely bright colors, I decided to pull out my Abstract Impressions set and create a colorful garden scene - so easy with this set! I did some stamping and stamping off to achieve some color grading so I could stay within the challenge, and I LOVE how it came out! I was surprised how many Lovely Lipstick embellishments I still have, too, so I figured some bright accents could add a touch more, too! Who's ready for Spring?? I started out this card by hunting through some stamp sets that I haven't used in a while - how can I go wrong with my adorable piggies?? I decided to go with winged cutie - I love putting her over cloudy paper, and I still have a few sheets of Carried Away that's just right! I stamped her on a white Stitched Circle, then again on a scrap of Blushing Bride for the color - so much easier than coloring in the whole pig, lol. Instead I just added a few accents in Flirty Flamingo with a marker, and snipped her out to float over her wings - perfect! It's always a good day when pigs fly, lol... We're supposed to start with choosing a sentiment, and THEN pick three more things from the pie chart! All while keeping it clean and simple! I'm relieved that my card came out so clean and simple, but whew, I had to sweat it out! It was a strange process for me - very backwards! So, I started with choosing a sentiment, not my usual procedure. I settled on this lovely from Ribbon of Courage - so true, right? From there I had to pick my three things, sigh. I decided to include the stamped ribbon from the same set for my image, I die-cut my sentiment, and for my matted layer, I went with Stitched Rectangles, which gives a matted look with a little less fuss. Did I pass?? Hard to say, lol... I did sneak on a trio of tiny hearts, too - maybe I did too much, or I can fall back on that my layer isn't really matted! Argh!
