OK, I got hit with another raid on my scripture cards this weekend - woo, I'm about wiped out AGAIN! Need to make sure I stay on top of that! So I have another quote today, thanks to Retro Sketches #55 - special for my Mom, who's favorite is John! Maybe I should have made multiples of this one... Our Daily Bread Scripture Series 2; Greenhouse Gala DSP (retired); Chocolate Chip, Whisper White & Baja Breeze CS; Large Scallop edgelit; Chocolate Chip taffeta; self-adhesive rhinestones.

OK, working on today's sketch, I had a clear goal in mind - use the two stamp sets that have been waiting listlessly for ink on my desk for a few weeks now - by hook or by crook! I actually went to sleep planning this card last night, knowing I was facing another color challenge this morning! The really funny thing is that all these colors are out on the class table right now for this week's Easter class - so maybe I'm starting to channel color challenges better! I do love, love, LOVE this combo - so fresh and Spring-y! Perfect for putting out the Easter decor today! Beyond Plaid & Ciao, Baby! stamp sets; Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Pink Pirouette, Shara Sand & Lucky Limeade CS & inks; Petite Curly Label punch; 1/8" organdy in Lucky Limeade (retired.) Here I am, once again using a stamp from a set that is NOT the stamp I got it for! I actually got it for that cute little pair of jeans, also in this set. Adorable! But this week's Clean & Simple #232 was intriguing - I wanted to try something off-beat - and I couldn't make the pants fit! And the little band-aid IS cute... Fun layout! Patterned Occasions stamp set; Sahara Sand, Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Summer Starfruit & Whisper White CS; Sycamore Street DSP; 1 5/8" Circle punch; White baker's twine; self-adhesive rhinestones. And it wouldn't be the start of a new week without another promo from Stampin' Up! - a sneak peek from the upcoming 2013-14 Idea Book & Catalog! This offer is for a bundle of the new stamp set A Round Array, and its coordinating punch! Already have the punch? You can get just the stamp set, too! Click the picture to go to the full flyer for dates and prices - looks totally cute! Please note, the sneak peak version is only available in clear-mount - wood-mount will be available with the catalog release. Here's a quick and simple scripture card for today, thanks to Freshly Made Sketches #77! I felt like this sketch had a nice big open field for a good scripture quote again - and it's a doozy. I think there are days I could get "lean not on your own understanding" tattooed on my forehead, I swear! Ah well, we plan, God laughs, I know He does... It's good that Someone gets to! Our Daily Bread Scripture Collection 2; Crumb Cake, Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler, Bashful Blue & Very Vanilla CS; Print Poetry DSP pack; Cherry Cobbler ink; Designer Round Ribbon Slide. Woo, I think I JUST slipped in under the wire for this week's Sunday Stamps Challenge #39! Yikees! I also decided to try a new approach with color challenges, too. We did a class once where we made our own "DSP" by stamping all over a sheet of paper in different colors, and then used it to make a set of cards - a Half-Sheet Wonder class. I decided to try that on THIS card, too, and I think I like the results! Secret Garden & Kindness Matters stamp sets; Whisper White, Basic Black & Baja Breeze CS; Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler & Baja Breeze inks; Vine Street embossing folder; Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch; Black 1/4" grosgrain; Jumbo self-adhesive rhinestones. Here's the first card for next week's class - all Easter themes! I had this epiphany - do you realize we haven't actually done any cards yet this year?? Sorry ladies, we have to do at least a few once in a while! I have some great card layouts, new techniques and fun folds planned for you, though - that you can use all year 'round! When we first got the oval framelits, I was already thinking ahead to this card - an Easter Egg Easel card - I figured it would be a good place to bring back the Chocolate Bunny, too! So, our next class is Thursday, March 21, 630 pm, here at Heroldt House! If you need a day-time class, I could do Monday, March 25, 930 am. Make sure to RSVP with which class you prefer so I can prep projects and goodies for you! See you then! This week's Paper Craft Crew Sketch #33 gave me a chance to use some naked stamps that have been sitting here a while - yay! This was also a great layout for me to do another square card, not something I do too often on my own - another yay! I stayed pretty strict to the sketch for this one - it gave me plenty of pieces to play with, and they all just came together, like a great sketch does! Make sure to go check out the other cards! Sunflower, Collage Curios & Apothecary Art stamp sets; Crumb Cake, Island Indigo, Whisper White& Summer Starfruit CS; Sycamore Street DSP; Chocolate Chip, Summer Starfruit & Gumball Green inks; Dotted Scallop Ribbon & 1" Circle punches; Neutrals brads; Silver Soda Pop Tops; Satin 1/4" ribbon in Tangerine Tango. I'm not real sure what had me feeling so sentimental about this week's Retro Sketch #54, but I decided to just go with it! The February "Best of Love" stamp set seemed to be calling me, and I decided to trot out one my favorite retired DSPs that I've been hoarding, too. (Just a tiny bit, though, see how I am?) Such a simple and versatile sketch - I've been having so much fun scrolling through all the other submissions! Best of Love stamp set; Crumb Cake, Real Red & Pink Pirouette CS; Sending Love Specialty (retired) DSP; 1/4" grosgrain in Real Red; Large & Small Tag punches; Chevron embossing folder. This week's Clean & Simple #231 has some of my favorite elements - balloons! I LOVE the sample she showed! It was an easy hop to switch over to kites - using a retired set that I feel like had all too short a shelf life... The kites are so bright and cheery, what a great card for a quick note of encouragement! Sparkly clouds added a just a touch of that little something extra, instead of my usual rhinestones... Send Me Soaring (retired) stamp set; Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Pool Party & Island Indigo CS; Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Raspberry Ripple & Basic Black inks; Dazzling Diamonds glitter; 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Circle punches. Who doesn't love THAT?? Personally, I've been on a mild mission to reduce my backside lately, so these are probably the only cupcakes I'll get for a while, sigh... That's why I dressed them up so much! Thank you Freshly Made Sketches #76! Create A Cupcake stamp set; Crumb Cake & Whisper White CS; Summer Smooches DSP; Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango, Lucky Limeade, Tempting Turquoise, River Rock & Crumb Cake inks; Cupcake Builder punch; 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain in Daffodil Delight. |
