Stitched Love (& Pumpkin Club Feb 29!)

Very fun! In{k}spire Me #414 is all about Valentine's! Still time for some sweetness!
I decided to go on a different track this time: the other day, I was looking at this chevron stamp when I used Believe You Can last, and I got to thinking about how it would be fun to play with color with it. Well, today's that day, lol. I did a chevron column in reds (only a tiny bit wavy, lol), with a couple heart clusters, topped off by this beautiful classic Valentine's sentiment from Heart to Heart. So fun! Now I want to try doing the chevron in all different colors, not just tones of one. The wheels are spinning!

Goodness, we have a big day going on today! First up, here's our sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday #445 - time to break out the borders! We're also teaming up with Double Trouble #50 for a tall and skinny challenge! AND, I'm try to squeeze in SU Only #243's 3D challenge - whew! A "tall" (and skinny, lol) order!
Looking at the sketch first, I decided to go with my new Clubhouse suite - I could just see a big golf ball in the shapes, lol. I made it tall and skinny, with lots of room for some 3D elements - like the super-realistic ball and tee in the grass, AND a nice pocket inside for a gift card! Perfect!

Such a sweet pic at this week's Fusion Valentine challenge - such romantic hearts! Let's have some fun!
I'm just about burnt out on Valentine's at this point - I think I have one challenge left in a day or two, lol. So now maybe I can pull out my Heart to Heart bundle, that also coordinates with the Story Label punch! You'll think I'm nuts, I only got this bundle because I REALLY wanted the Detailed Hearts dies, so I knew I needed to break down and use the stamps, too, lol. So, I decided to do a shaker card for all those little leftover hearts, and even added in some Faceted Gems! I went to the mat today!

Now THIS will be a challenge - The Male Room #129 is "heart" you - I think using a heart on a guy card could be tricky!
I had to dig deep to find this baby on the retired shelves - and I still can't get over how much I love this set - Gift Givers from all the way back in 2011! I still have all the punches that go with it, too, lol. Anyway, even with all that love, I have NEVER used the little owl heart! So I made a quick woodland scene for my owl to perch in, and kept it simple. So darn cute!

Hm, Inspire Create Challenge #062 has a "blank slate" challenge going for us this week - what to do??
I think maybe I should start playing with my new Mountain Air set! This is a gorgeous new "scene building" set, with mountains and trees, lots of huge landscape details, AND, it has dies! I wanted to start tinkering and playing with all the pieces - you can even stamp using the reverse sides for some super cool shadow-like details. This is my first crack, and I paired it with the "Just Breath" sentiment from Colorful Seasons - this was the first match I thought of when I saw it in the catalog, I suspect I'll use them together pretty often! I think the trick with this one is definitely going to be to not do TOO much - always a challenge for me!

Ah, we have a beautiful bold sketch for you on this day of love at Fab Friday #183!
I decided to do something heart related for Valentine's, and one of my all-time faves is this beauty from our Modern Heart set - love the geometric design style (with scribbles!), and the varied range of sentiments to go with - such a keeper! I decided to take my colors from the gorgeous Peaceful Poppies DSP - I love this sheet in particular for its combo of Poppy Parade & Rich Razzleberry - so unexpected!

What a fun sketch they have for us this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments #332!
I wanted to make a special effort to use my Dressed to Impress set today - it's maybe a tiny bit girlie for me, but I always laugh to see this sentiment! Now, for me those shoes would have to be another pair of Birkenstocks, lol, but I can sure appreciate the thought! I decided to play up the Purple Posy details, too - still loving this color!

Such a fun theme this month at CAS Christmas Feb 2020 - add "joy!"
After a quick browse of my most recent Christmas sets, I moved over to the retired shelves. My eye kept coming back to this lovely stable scene from 2014's The Newborn King. I quickly spotted the sentiment from my still fave Tin of Tags set, and I was all set. BUT, I didn't want to color everything in, which is what I usually do with this one! I added a quick stamped off background wash with Love What You Do before simply stamping in black over this. I'm loving the quiet look of this one!

Don't we have a loving sketch this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #444?
So I know it's almost the great day of romance, lol, but you know me, I had to go off the rez, here! How about a big loving APPLE?? Lol. As soon as I saw our optional theme of using up scraps I knew I'd be headed straight for my pile of Tutti Frutti clippings - they're just so colorful and fun! What better shape to go with these than a nice apple, with a get better wish. Perfect!

Little Creepy Love Note

OK, I think they got me this time over at The Library Challenge #52 - I've definitely never heard of Groggle's Monster Valentine, lol, but it looks pretty, uh, expressive. Definitely a fun Valentine's theme, lol.
The best monster I could come up with was from this past Holiday catty - Boo to You - and I figured I could get a lot of color in with this little guy with the horns, lol. I tried to do a take off of the cover itself - big pink heart, googly-eyes monster, lots of little hearts to go with - yeah, I think this is the best I can cobble together, and I'm happy to call him Groggle!
