Retro Petites

Oh my goodness, we've been having more dreary gray days here in AZ than I would have thought physically possible - enough already!  We live in the desert, let's get with the program!  In response to the weather, I put together my "Sun Dance" card - rainbows for everyone!  This week's Retro Sketches #49 was a super fun layout for me - I feel like I've done a similar one on other cards, but the shapes are so easy to swap out!  Yay!  This card went together in 15 minutes flat - can you tell I'm ready for the return of the sun?
Pretty Petites & Sweet Essentials stamp sets; Summer Smooches DSP; Whisper White, Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Tempting Turquoise & Rich Razzleberry CS and inks; 7/8" Square & Petite Curly Label punches; self-adhesive Rhinestones.

Fabulous Kindness

Have I ever mentioned before that my favorite color is purple?  It's true.  And I'm a purple snob about it, too.  When I first discovered SU!, their purples were the lovely Perfect Plum & Pale Plum, which paired together like, duh, they were made for each other.  Then we lost Pale Plum, and gained Rich Razzleberry.  And I was NOT. PLEASED.  It was too brash, too neon, and too weird.  See what I mean?  Purple snob.
These days, though, slowly but surely, Rich Razzleberry has been carving out its place in my go-to palette, and the papers in Sale-A-Bration's Sycamore Street DSP have pretty much destroyed the last of my reservations - how gorgeous is it here with Summer Starfruit, which is another weird color??  So, Rich Razzleberry was my starting point for this week's Fab Friday #11, and look where we ended up - Fabulous Town!

This week's Clean & Simple #226 was a bit of a reversal for me - I don't usually use a patterned paper for the card base!  I played with this in both Crumb Cake and Whisper White, but Crumb Cake only won by a nose - I still left in the white version of the highlighted flower.  It just really jumped out at me, in a good way!
Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set; Parisian Breeze Specialty DSP (retired); Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake & Whisper White CS; Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi & Baja Breeze inks; Essentials piercing template; self-adhesive Jumbo Pearls.

OK, here's my second stab at Freshly Made Sketch #71 - I like it much better!  I did want to try to break out of a color rut I feel like I've been in lately, and I really wanted to play with some of my new(er) toys more...  This feels much more balanced to me!  And it never hurts to restock the scripture cards!
Secret Garden & Our Daily Bread Scripture Collection 5 stamp sets; Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple CS; Print Poetry DSP stack; Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple & Lucky Limeade inks; Crumb Cake taffeta ribbon; Linen thread; Slot punch (retired); Secret Garden framelits; self-adhesive jumbo Pearl.

Hm, I feel like I've made a Fresh Cup of Thanks before!  Oh well!  This week's Freshly Made Sketch #71 seems to like caffeine!
This one was tough for me - I have another arrangement of this card that I'll be burning later, and I'm not entirely satisfied with this one, but it's closer!  I was trying to make the tag and the shape "work together," but it looks a bit weird to me...  Might have to take another crack at this sketch later!
Tea Shoppe stamp set; Whisper White, So Saffron, Crumb Cake & Perfect Plum CS; Subtles DSP stack; Certainly Celery grosgrain; self-adhesive pearls; Modern Label punch; Movers & Shapers dies.
